When he caught that drag route he just seemed to kick into high gear and no one was making up any ground, I was like, “I think he’s got a little bit left.”Couple things to add. I believe OBJ has been dealing with a hip injury the last few weeks. Tonight at Cardinals seems like maybe he's getting over that injury and his play was really nice tonight overall.
Also, Jalen Ramsey helped get OBJ signed on the Rams. I think that's good for two reasons. 1) May help OBJ to want to sign and stay with Rams after the season. 2) Ramsey may help keep OBJ on the straight and narrow, since Ramsey has been cool customer since leaving the Jags.
I miss DeShawn Jackson and was hoping he had some success with the Rams, but definitely happy to have, and hopefully keep, OBJ a Ram!
Van is starting to really improve lately, but hear yeah on the nervous part! When he caught that drag route he just seemed to kick into high gear and no one was making up any ground, I was like, “I think he’s got a little bit left.”
Stafford has to be gaining trust in him, he’s clutch in big moments, I love Van but he makes me nervous sometimes.
He will be resigned 100%. Dont think people understand how complicated our offense is, how much our WRs are asked to do in this offense, and how incredibly difficult it is to change teams mid season, pick up a new offense and be effective. He's been incredibly effective these last few games.
The real question is...after he resigns do we trade Woods? Do we want to invest that much $ at WR? Van Jeff has proven he deserves a starting role and is on his rookie contract still.
I know Bobby Trees is a great leader and teammate, but lets take the intangibles out for a second. Lets also keep in mind Odell is still learning a new offense after being thrown into the fire, and had zero chemistry with a brand new QB. So looking at their games, what does Woods do better than Odell??
-Block?? Okay yes. Woody has the edge.
-Run after the catch?? Maybe slightly Woods, but OBJ is very good at YAC. But for arguments sake lets give the edge to Woody.
-Route Running?? I'd say this is completely even, maybe an edge to OBJ. OBJ has a bigger route tree, and gets more separation.
-Hands?? OBJ has to have this edge Rob's hands are excellent, but OBJ's are next level elite. Arguably the best in the NFL for years.
-Deep Threat?? OBJ hands down. Woody can be effective down the field but not his game.
-Red Zone?? To me this isn't even close. OBJ is a consistent 1-on-1 nightmare. Slants and fades if hes not doubled are unstoppable in the red zone.
-Overall game speed/acceleration?? OBJ is quicker, faster and more explosive.
-Football IQ?? I would say Rob because I've seen him for years, but seeing how fast OBJ has learned this offense is so damn impressive. His ability to get forward progress today and keep the clock moving late was a prime example.
I don’t think anyone wants to dump him, I certainly don’t. Some of these business decisions are tough. How well is he going to recover from the surgery? When will he be available and fully healthy? Most likely will miss half of next season and not be back to full speed until 2023.Can’t believe guys want to dump Woods, he does everything for this team and does it well. Catches, runs, blocks, gets other guys open, and does it all at a high level with a smile on his face.
When they find their systematic or logical connection --OBJ and Stafford will be unstoppable.Love me some Trees though, OBJ just brings a bit more overall.
Yeah I think he's basically our WR3 right now. Because you can't trust him in a key moment as much as we can trust Odell. Just in terms of his ability as a receiver Odell is automatic if that ball is near him.Van is starting to really improve lately, but hear yeah on the nervous part!
I bet Beckham has not even hit 100% play speed in this offense yet.
His talent is obvious and a good bet to shine down the stretch.
The problem I had with signing him, was that we had just released DJ because he was whining about wanting to be traded due to lack of opportunity, and it seemed that we were signing someone else's problem child, resulting in maybe the same outcome. Woods was still healthy as far as the fans knew and it seemed like a superfluous roster addition without much upside. Later that day we found out about Bobby Trees. The signing of OBJ turned out to be a great move and he seems to be working out well!Incredibly frustrating. Every team has injuries. But still.
Which is why, as a UFA, he will garner top dollar.Resign him obviously. Enough said. Coming into arguably the most complicated offense in the NFL, mid season, all with a new QB, and making a huge impact. Dude is still a difference maker.

Not only is he showing the league that he's physically back, his maturity and adaptability will make signing that check a much lower risk prop
There's literally no way they can re-sign him
He's wanted to play in LA for 4 years now and the feeling has always been mutual. His girlfriend lives in LA. He's a superstar personality who will get endless business opportunities out here. Plus the connection he's already showing with Stafford and the McVay offense. The Rams will be in a very good spot to resign him if they want and I bet they'd get a discount.Which is why, as a UFA, he will garner top dollar.
