I received a text message from one of my old, high school friends on Sunday. He has (well, had) an extra ticket for David Gilmour at the Hollywood Bowl on the 26th. Sweet!!! (y):yess:

A couple other guys from our motley crew are flying in for the show as well. A flashback Friday it'll be...

RedRam you lucky son of Primetime's mother! If my eyes weren't green before now, they're verdant emerald green with envy. I'm gonna get comfortably numb and give Roman Snow's favorite band "Third Day" a listen.

And on the third day God created Pink Floyd. And Roy Orbison said it was good.

Careful what you wish for. A couple of years ago thru a strange alignment of the planets and a quirk of fate I was a able to reunite with two old friends. (hadn't laid eyes on each other in 35 years) We had been inseparable in our youth. We were bad boys and ran the streets together from grade to high school. Then went our separate ways in life. In the end it was more like a reunion of grumpy old men than Saturday night fever. But I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Had a similar experience when I hooked up with two of my old "running buddies" on Facebook. I deleted them after coming to the conclusion that they hadn't changed one iota in over 30 years. Still talking smack, chasing chicks, beating people up, and getting loaded. You can't go home again.

Meant to post one from this album few weeks ago and haven't seen in here yet. Mustaine kills it big time!! He added a Brazilian guitarist that shreds so cleanly. Classic Megadeth, "best" since Endgame or awhile prior. JMO.:cheers:[GALLERY=media, 74]Megadeth - Poisonous Shadows [Dystopia] - YouTube by BatteringRambo posted Mar 16, 2016 at 1:35 PM[/GALLERY]

Good one Ramsey. I think that Pink Floyd "real deal" video was able to rinse that horrible version out of my ears. (y)

Chet Baker? What coincidental timing. The guy that offered my the ticket to Gilmour and I have a connection to Chet Baker. His family was part owner of a little Jazz cellar in Saratoga back in the late 70's-early 80's. We used to hang out there a lot and I do mean a lot. I saw Chet Baker play there one of those nights. I can neither confirm nor deny that weed was smoked by and/or with Mr. Baker. I saw Smith & Gail Dobson there. Bobby McFerrin, Mark Levine if I remember correctly... The duo Tuck & Patti were regulars there.

I remember a lot of jazz and classical played in our home while growing up but don't remember any Chet Baker records. I came across him on the net.

Ah, Saratoga. Villa Montalvo always comes to mine. Saw Les Paul, Chet Atkins, and one other guitarist that doesn't come to mind play there one summer day. Free wine and good music. Great memories!

Reactions: Prime Time
John Michael Talbot was a 15 year old guitarist for Mason Proffit. They played concerts with The Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan in the early 70's. He went on a Razors Edge type spiritual journey from Native American religions to Buddhism , finally in 1978 ending up a monk in the Saint Franciscan order. Michael is the founder of a monastic community known as the Brothers and Sisters of Charity in Berryville Arkansas. Celibate brothers and sisters, as well as entire families live in the community.
