Did those "Twitter whispers" mention Stafford paying back a portion of his signing bonus? Because that will def would have to happen
Haven't ready anything solid but if he's having concussion issues right now I'm all for it. Help the team out give back the portion of the signing bonus for remaining years and ride off into the HoF with your ring.

Because he wouldnt be playing out his contract and all dead money would immediately hit the cap
if you retire the signing bonus can be paid back - sometimes the player voluntarily recoups... sometimes the team lets them keep it
sometimes it goes to court.
a signing bonus has nothing to do with medical retirement - its kind of the opposite.
But let's hope it's not an issue...
These players sign contracts that are likely a few hundred pages or more long.
No doubt the team protects itself in these situations.

Yeah this wouldn't be the first time a team got a portion of a signing bonus back for a situation like this. Won't be the last either I'm sure. We never know what Stan will do though. He could retire pay the money back to the Rams and take a job with the team for the same amount of money he paid back. There are ways around everything.
