Are you saying the comments made by Matthew Stafford's wife in regards to him playing through TBI are bullshit? You have insight into their relationship and the discussions they've had huh
nah he was talking about the OP indicating breaking news or something.

He doesn't look like the young ascending player he once was. Still better than many. I can feel those hits from my easy chair.

But hey, the dude can wear his ring while he's licking his wounds. I know that would make me feel better.

There are no whispers so the title is mis-leading. Gets clicks though.

Stan is always in the locker room after games. So is Pastoors.

If Stafford is concussed again they were likely consoling him.

With all that said, I could see Stafford hanging it up. And a VERY interesting off season.

Did I say that?

Read the response, I’m pretty clear.

Did those "Twitter whispers" mention Stafford paying back a portion of his signing bonus? Because that will def would have to happen

Haven't ready anything solid but if he's having concussion issues right now I'm all for it. Help the team out give back the portion of the signing bonus for remaining years and ride off into the HoF with your ring.

And?
If it’s a signing bonus, that’s his money.
if you retire the signing bonus can be paid back - sometimes the player voluntarily recoups... sometimes the team lets them keep it
sometimes it goes to court.

Good luck getting money back on a medical retirement.

Are there cap hits if a player just up and quits?

If so there must be some major considerations.

Especially if a player is concerned for the marbles in their head.

These players sign contracts that are likely a few hundred pages or more long.

No doubt the team protects itself in these situations.

And no doubt a player and their family decides health with dollars. Don't we all?

Yeah this wouldn't be the first time a team got a portion of a signing bonus back for a situation like this. Won't be the last either I'm sure. We never know what Stan will do though. He could retire pay the money back to the Rams and take a job with the team for the same amount of money he paid back. There are ways around everything.
