Saw this breakdown of worst player for each NFL team, while getting my morning news on.

Rams "winner"?

Lawrence-Phillips-rams.jpg

"Lawrence Phillips was drafted by the Rams with the 6th overall pick in 1996. He was a terrific football talent but his off the field issues led some to wonder whether he would be able to cut it in the NFL.

He rushed for just over 600 yards in both of his first two seasons before abruptly being cut by the team in November 1997. The Rams had finally figured out he wasn’t worth all the headaches he caused."

Gotta be Tye Hill. Dude didn't have any off field issues I don't think but damn did he get burned every down.

Aside from being a little painful to think about, that's tough because a bad player is unlikely to hang around very long unless it's a high pick or a big-$ free agent that a team / front office may feel obligated to keep around a few seasons.

The Tye Hill and Jason Smith suggestions are solid.

Greg Robinson and Joe Klopfenstein come to mind.

Couple big-$ free agents that still make me cry are Dwayne White and Jason Brown (I was thrilled when he signed). However, #1 on the list for me would be Drew Bennett because his addition was tied to the Rams moving-on from Isaac Bruce.

Define worst? No skill? Dipshit off field? Worst talent for level of pick? Worst human being?

That’s a broad spectrum.
That was my thought.

I immediately thought of Philips as he underperformed on the field and was a real POS off the field.

It probably didn't help that I was absolutely pissed that we took him - especially where we did

Then we have to throw in Daryl Henley.

You could also add Brian Quick for worst bust too but that was in the second round

Worst draft pick - all of you have named winners, I'll leave you with this gem, Robert Thomas

Worst FA signing - again job well done, but you forgot me. - Jason Sehorn

First overall pick of day 2, if I remember right.

Rams had a lot of reasons (at that time) to move that pick for more picks. We stunk.

It's the most premium pick of day 2, likely with many suitors... We take Brian Quick.

Ouch.

Oh there are - there are

However, our 1st round picks were actually decent to very good for the most part

Worst one other than Phillips was probably Wayne Gandy or Bern Brostek ( don't even remember that guy)

Other 1st round picks that were good

Todd Lyght
Sean Gilbert
Jerome Bettis
Kevin Carter
Orlando Pace
Eddie Kennison (well not that great but not horrible either that I can remember)
Grant Wistrom
Torry Holt

Some All Pros and Hall of Famers there - how the heck did we do so poorly

Must have been the 2nd rounds and lower
