You say that but there was an 8 game spell where sjax was injured … he had almost identical production over that 8 game period to sjax
But he only played 18 games for the Rams and avg 3.5 ypc. For a 2nd rd pick, his tenure with the Rams was way too short.

Leonard was an incredibly unselfish player, was a heck of a halfback who gave up his spot and moved to FB so Ray Rice could play HB. Was way undersized for NFL FB and then Linehan ruined him in his rookie pre-season. He was like the only RB on the roster and had an incredible amount of carries, and got crushed. Busted up both of his shoulders and was never the same.
I get why folks are down on him, and I'm a little close to the situation because I know Leonard, but still, why he didnt pan out gets left out too much IMO. Appreciate guys like you who can recognize the talent that was wasted

Try this one out...part of the draft pick haul in the Dickerson trade:

Frank Stams. Or even his draft-class colleague, Aaron Cox.

WOW - Downtown Ram had Tommy Polley on his radio. He was a good player & Ram. That is just a wrong evaluation as a player.

Trung ? Excuse me ? Was it Tommy Polley who The Rams got ? I guess if so it must add up a Zero & Double worse Rams.

Greg Robinson or Jason Smith ? As of being DUMB ? I know which player I’d say.

I have a conspiracy theory on Jason Smith. I believe he hit his head horse back riding in rodeos. I wonder if he has any ptsd or whatever it is with concussions. Never seen an O’lineman have the kind of injuries he had so easily.

The Greg Robinson pick though was such a bad pick. There was so many options. An example would be having the left side Tennessee has. Plus an extra first rd pick.

I was always for keeping that RG111 pick forever.
You are right - not Polley - Robert Thomas was the LB I was thinking of. Terrible weakside LB in our 4-3 we ran back then. 2002 draft - same year we drafted Eric Crouch

Gotta be Jason Smith in my mind.

#2 overall.... and he accomplished nothing other than getting caught trying to steal Albert Pujols game worn hat...

PS - Jason smith and Greg Robinson are 1 and 1A in my book. Both #2 picks and total busts. Never got 1 good game out of either of them. Does it get any worse?

Mad Mike messed up. I think a HC has to have input.I just listen to Mcvay talk about Cooper Kupp & his interview.

Fisher I had to much influence as well.I think Les Snead has more say in the draft with Mcvay.

However just going to use a weird comparison with Austin Blythe.I think I saw that CJ Bearheard is still in the NFL.That Iowa team in 2015 was stacked. There is a reason why certain teams are so good in college.Another example is Ohio St. & Jordan Fuller.
He was drafted last out of the 4 DB’s his senior year.
—Another example is Stedman Bailey over Tavon Austin. I TRULY think he was the better WR out of that West Virginia team with Geno Smith.

Just connecting to players I think The Rams have missed on under McSnead.
Austin Blythe is just The Rams connection since 2017 draft.I still think Austin Blythe was a GREAT Lockeroom guy. Pass the soap please.

Thomas had a couple ok seasons & if you really go back & look it’s hard to see what else was out there ? Was a bad draft year.

Robinson wasn't better than Jason Smith?

What got me about Jason Smith was he seemed so small for a LT,especially for the 2nd overall pick in the NFL.He was out of Baylor which just didn’t seem right.
Spags & his pillars ? If I recall right it was under his watch ? Whoever let the carrying of Helmets be his thing. WOW —not good looking back.

An example of a good way to bring in a rookie. AJ Jackson #68.What’s his cost & how many helmets can he carry after practice. If he carry’s just one The Rams are getting a good deal. At 6’8 he is sure tall & long enough. Wonder his hand size ?
Dude could be The Rams LT of the future. Then again Joseph Noteboom is a stud.
