I disagree about the OL. I don't understand the logic - any player that we would draft this year with our picks is going to be comparable to five young players already on our OL. These guys are still developing. I never thought we would draft OL.

I completely disagree, multiple lineman at 52 and 57 that would've been upgrades at T or G. Taking a center in round 2 or 3 would've been an upgrade as well. You dont think a 2nd round guard would start over austin corbett? The guy was literally cut from Cleveland because he was useless. They called him one of their biggest busts ever. Blythe is a UDFA that gets overpowered constantly, There were much better center prospects available. All that matters is giving Goff a chance to succeed man, and trying to help the running game. We had absolutely no running game last year, that is a fact. Was that all on Gurley? If not why didn't Henderson have a great year? The run blocking and pass blocking were both horrible, the line ranked 31st in the league.

Obviously as fans some of us have Rose tinted glasses looking at the picks, and others are outraged at what we left on the board. Truth of the matter is that we may not be keeping Everett after this season, so it was a choice of need. I definitely hate to see it because I like Gerald Everett a lot. I felt like he was really coming into his own as a player.

Respect your opinion, but your facts are off a bit. Corbett was acquired by trade, he wasn't cut, and Blythe was drafted in the seventh round by the Colts.

Is there only one type of TE that fits all schemes? You are obviously an expert, so enlighten me :)
Actually we have already established Jake as the expert. The 9th rated TE in the draft is in fact, the best overall.

Man you guys are defensive. Not everyone is going to think like the herd! lol

Tomato tomato, shit shite. A lot of faith in this group when they've proven nothing.

Jared NEVER pulled in catches like that. This kid is Kupp in a TE's body.
I like it. And I really like me some Mt. Everett, but we may like this kid more.

Cook had a bad case of the dropsies, like Hopkins. Cook always half-assed in blocking, like Hopkins.

Hopkins is going to be the most polarizing player on the team when he begins to play because he plays like Cook.

Corbett was more highly drafted than that. But by all means go on thinking they would be guaranteed upgrades.

the browns? c'mon man, if they think he's shit then he's gonna be one of the best guards in the nfl eventually.

actually, i think he didn't fit their scheme but the browns being the browns they picked him at the top of the 2nd round anyway because he was a good lineman.

i'm pretty sure he fits in to what the rams are doing. he was ok last season for the rams.

Ok so...strike the media outlet portion, but Jakes a fan right? It comes to *me* as no surprise that a Ram fan would adore a Ram pick. Fair enough? I like Jake well enough, its not about that.

Its all really just bar talk anyway. We all want our team to be the best it can be. Hopefully this kid turns out to be a fan favorite and the team gets better and better and no one will remember when or why exactly he was drafted.

Like I said, Jake will not hesitate to criticize the Rams if he thinks they deserve it. Listen to the DTR podcast sometime.

I he says this is the best TE in the draft, it's because *he genuinely believes* this is the best TE in the draft. Nothing more, nothing less. He's not saying it just because he's a fan or some other motivation.

That’s a big statement to make considering the year Higs just had
I thought the same thing. I hope he's right because that would make him a really good addition to our Rams.

I don't like the comparisons with jared Cook. Cook was a freak athlete who ran very stiff routes and did not have natural hands - always caught with his body. This kid doesn't have his straight line speed but runs more fluid routes that create separation and plucks the ball away from his body. The concentration drops may or may not go away with practice, i.e. Higbee's hands are miles better than when he first entered the league.

I trust McVay with TEs and receivers.

Just watched his, and every other presser with players, and he, and most of the other players picked are very high character guys, who love football. Gonna be fun. I reiterated, fans are going to love this kid. Don’t agree with some of his comps. I’d say, Ertz , if I had to name a comp. He will abuse the seams.

It didn't have to be Dye. There were other good LBs out there. If not LB then why would you not draft OL. It was hands down our biggest weakness last year, you think Snead and McVay HONESTLY went into this draft saying "no we're fine with our OL." That is complete bullshit. The players they targeted were obviously drafted already, and now Goff has no new blocking help around him. The QB who is more affected by pressure than anyone and had the 31st ranked OL last year. And we decided not to invest additional picks to improving it. We are doubling down on a the same decision that ruined our season last year. You can defend the pick all you want. This kid is not going to see the field AT ALL this year. We could have drafted Everett's replacement next year.
Why is this kid not going to see the field at all? Because he's a rookie? Aside from Whit and Big Rob, our O-line is VERY young and started to step up at the end of the season. Littleton wasn't exactly a premier draft pick. We could easily already have someone step in to replace him with little fall off in production.
Everybodys an awesome prospect and a steal in th draft.

whatever....

You dont draft a 3rd string TE ahead of serious need, to which imo is ILB,and OL

Same with the 4th string receiver we took ahead of need.

This whole draft thus far, except for running back, has been a question mark for me. Hopefully these young men develop beyond my expectations and prove to be great picks later on.
There is always a need for players that you think will produce in your system
Well heres a surprise, a RAMS media outlet in love with a RAMS pick.

Trump would call this fake media.
Jake has nothing to do with the Rams organization. But he really puts in the time and goes to the senior bowl and watches a lot of tape. I'm not a huge fan of his writing abilities at times but he has a pretty solid knowledge base.
It comes to *me* as no surprise that a Ram fan would adore a Ram pick. Fair enough?
Are you not a Ram fan? You do not adore this pick. Why would Jake adore it more than you for only that reason? My old boss whose dad worked in the LA Rams organization back in the 60s and 70s and was an NFL Europe coach and has done a fair amount of scouting, says the same thing about this kid - best TE in the draft and NFL ready NOW. I'll go with that until he proves otherwise.
Cook had a bad case of the dropsies, like Hopkins. Cook always half-assed in blocking, like Hopkins.

I doubt it. Cook has hands of stone. By accounts I have heard from those that have seen Hopkins play, he is a natural receiver and just had some concentration laps drops.
