Precisely my point.

My comment was in part because you were so quick to act like the kid is sticking around due to only good reasons. Trying to keep it real. There could be much more in play in that young head of his, and we don't know what his motivation is.

Many young kids nowadays, in fact, are afraid of the unknown and will hang around with some bullshit in spite of the fact it's better for them to venture into that unknown. You can disregard it all you want. Knock yourself out. But none of us know what's in his head.

I'd like to see him succeed next year. So on top of all that the further point was that if he doesn't get good protections and sucks ass again in 2026 it's gonna kill his draft value. Now he may be too young to realize all that. But if he has an agent I would hope his counsel was to seek out a better program that comes with weapons and protections.
I was quick to act like there are personal reasons why a player might choose to stick with his team over transferring to a better situation because we must account for the personal in these situations. You can certainly make an argument that he's not sticking around for good reasons, and the strongest argument there is that he's sticking around because SC is paying him a lot of money to do so. The argument you're actually making isn't compelling, so yes, I will choose to disregard it.

I'd also like him to succeed. He might have made a mistake going back to SC. But he's made his decision, and he'll have to live with it.

I think the biggest bummer for Sellars is the track record of QBs translating to the NFL from the Briles/Heuepel system is awful. He coulda gotten a bag at several schools. He’s not going to develop in that system.

Well since we're giving opinions on opinions I think you're too quick to disregard his play and hang massive hopes on him, when he's given indicators on the field that are very concerning. Talking about taking him in the top ten is crazy. The kid's had plenty of flags that make me wonder about where his head is, and I think that's well within reasonable discussion.

So yeah let's disagree.

Biggest bummer for me is he won't be in the draft to push another player down to to the Rams selection.

Maybe I am. It's a big risk, but it's one I'd have been willing to take in the right spot. Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson all had major flaws coming out of college. But they overcame them and are all NFL MVPs. Plenty of other guys didn't overcome their flaws. You win some. You lose some.

While not in the 1st round conversation, Haynes King has the size, experience and duel threat ability you'd love to see in a prospect. Dont know why he isnt spoken about more, Nationally that is, not necessarily on here

Shhhh don't let those bad GMs know about him. It's funny you mention him i was just looking at him after a suggestion last night.

Rocket of an arm and good quick release. Could be a bit thicker but is tall and checks all the other boxes. Most list him as an udfa but I'm thinking I'd spend a pick on him.

McShay compares him to Tim Tebow. Can't throw at the NFL level. Never looked closely at him, but I also thought he was interesting.

Biggest knock I've heard or seen was his short pass accuracy. He's money on deep balls but can struggle on shorter stuff. I still think we would draft for a kid to sit a year so I'd be interested in how coachable he is.

I just assumed he had a noodle arm and couldnt make all the throws, that doesnt seem to be the case.
Agree on spending a late pick on him.
Hasnt exactly played in an offense that shows off passing ability

King is definitely an intriguing draft & stash type of guy for late in draft. Sit for a couple years behind staff. If he is a smart guy and has ability/desire to learn NFL defenses, coverages, work on short passes, etc. There are several of these types this year. Hopefully McVay hits it off with one of them and our scouting team identifies the right guy.

Raiola gives me major Mahomey vibes in his mannerisms and how he looks out there. I think getting away from Rhule is a good thing, not that Rhule is bad but Raiola is potentially a high end pick so it's a smart call if he can end up somewhere that has better pieces around him.

Bummed that Sorsby isn't coming out. It's gonna be really damn interesting where these QBs end up.
