IDK might have had his choice of Indiana, LSU, Miami or even close to home in Clemson. All better options than South Carolina under a HC who will be in his last year IMO.
I agree. And it makes me wonder if the kid is afraid of the unknown, the high expectations. Maybe he is a loyal local kid. Or maybe he lacks the mental fortitude.

I think there is a ton more risk staying there. If he can improve and win, it can certaily work out for him. But if not...

Sellers returning is a shame for us. Realistically, Simpson now appears to be one of three touted first round QBs who might be in range. But, I have my doubts whether he can replace Stafford even with a year or two in our system. Does he have enough experience? Does he tick enough boxes? Would we be better trading with a team like the Jets for their first round pick next year?

I would not be surprised if we were to try and trade up for him based on reports such as this. He was a 5 star recruit and so his tools might be legit. They gush about his play in the report below. Their assessment is eerily reminiscent of Joe Montana’s skill set which feels like hyperbole

He lacks "the mental fortitude" because he refused to transfer to a place where it's easier to win? Football and fans have really changed. Wasn't that long ago that people were criticizing players for being "disloyal" and questioning their character. Now, we have players being criticized for being too loyal lol.

The last couple of games Simpson has not looked good at all. Lets see how he plays against a very good Oklahoma team, who the Tide lost to earlier in the year 23-21.

I need to take a closer look at Sorsby. I get the feeling that McVay wants a mobile QB. Sorsby is big, athletic, and has a strong arm. Looking at his stats, it appears he's been up and down this year, so I want to see why.

My initial impression is I'm not sold on Simpson. His deep ball accuracy is really bad when we're talking about potential 1st round prospects and I think that's where you have to start when you're trying to find a potential difference maker at QB.

Mendoza and Dante Moore will be the standard at the QB position in this draft imo.

Don't waste a pick on those 2 for sure.
After Mendoza, I wouldn't use either of our 1st rounders on a QB. Especially if MS9 plans on returning for even just one more season.
Load up with talent at either the WO, CB, DL/Edge or OL positions, depending on the BPA at either of those positions.
But then hey, I'm really not a draft expert like everyone else here at ROD, either. :helmet:
WIN NOW, baby !!!

Easy tiger. We don't know his motivations. Truth is he is all upside. Played like dogshit behind a dogshit line then went back to the same trough for more.

Elite competitor is what I want at QB. Is he that? Not so sure at this point so we will see.

:laugh2:

I still kick myself for not going to any of their concerts.... heard they were great. I was too much of a bullet headed metal fan.... though I did go to Prince's Purple Rain tour.
I was also (and still am primarily) a metal head and ALSO went to see Prince on the Purple Rain tour, haha. Good times.
although driving to my bachelor party back in the summer of 1992 in my black IROC with the windows and sunroof open
Say whaaaaa? I had a few IROCs myself back in the day, and I only remember them being available in hard top or T-top. Only sunroof I ever saw on an F Body of that era was an aftermarket job that leaked worse than the T-tops did, haha.

Yes, T-tops open, that is what I should have communicated.
