Anyone consider Georgia's QB Gunner Stockton? He's only a junior and may not declare, but he's having a pretty good season thus far.
I don't know. Stockton honestly reminds me of Stetson 2.0. Same height and everything.
Maybe it's just me, but IMO, both Mendoza and Simpson are the type of QBs you select at your spot but not trade up to get.
Does it bother anyone else that Kurtis Rourke put up huge numbers for Indiana just last year?
It doesn't bother me. Yes, Cignetti's system is great. Yes, De Boer's system is great. Yes, both Indiana and Alabama have a ton of weapons (Elijah Sarratt, Omar Cooper Jr., and to an extent, Charlie Becker for Indiana, while Alabama has Ryan Williams, Germie Bernard, Isaiah Horton, and Lotzier Brooks to an extent), yes, they have solid O-line play. That much is true.
But these two are the cream of the crop for a reason. Their arms are great, Simpson's sheer anticipation is outstanding, and Mendoza has shown the ability to make off-schedule plays.
I'd be ecstatic if either one of them were our pick; hell, Dante Moore or LaNorris Sellers, should he come out, would be great choices. Even a late first choice of John Mateer, Jayden Maiava, or Brendan Sorsby would be great for me; to me, McSnead's earned the right to decide our future. Hell, Sawyer Robertson, Darian Mensah, and Sam Leavitt could be a later choice after we take a blue-chip tackle/receiver/corner, and I'd be happy.
There's a
lot of QBs in this class that look like good prospects.
