Rams will draft a 1st round qb in '26, I feel pretty confident in that. Best case scenario, he gets the Mahomes deal, sits behind Stafford for a year. Worst case the rook competes with the bridge starter and plays in '26
Cream is rising. Its not how guys started this season, it's how they finish and how that carries in to combine/pro days
If he comes back, it will be a tough decision to burn a few picks to move up for a bench player in 26'. They will want to maximize his last year. Now, maybe a guy they like falls to them in the mid teens with possibly Atlanta's pick. Then you only burn one pick. However I would think McVay will want his pick of the QB class and thus would probably still have to move up to get that guy.

It will be interesting to see how they attack it.

I dont see the Rams waiting until they need a QB before they make a move to get one. If they were to put together a package of picks to get the top QB on their board, he certainly isnt being drafted as a bench player.
If Stafford is back in '26 I dont think its mutually exclusive for them to draft a 1st round QB and maximize Stafford's year

Yeah, just wondering if they trade a 1st & 2nd or more, for a QB to sit for a year with Stafford starting. Now if Jimmy is starting or another stop gap, then sure, trade whatever you need to in order to get your guy.

Simpson can stop playing so well, don't want to have to trade up for him. Still the same list of 5 1st round QB's for me and I'd take any of them but Simpson impresses more every week.

You'd rather a QB sit behind Jimmy or stop gap instead of sitting and learning from Stafford? Thats a wild take

Only issue with Simpson is the body of work. 1 year starters typically dont fare well in the NFL
Poor Allar, his star faded big time and now he's out for the year

Nah, its not about that. My point on that is not about a QB developing behind a vet QB. It would be about if it's Stafford's last year, do you burn your top three picks on a stud RT, WR, and a CB. Or do you burn two of those picks on a QB that won't play?

Not impressed with Sellers. No pocket awareness as he bails immediately, running backwards and either getting sacked or grounding it. He looks to be a few years away at least.

Fernando Mendoza goes into Eugene & upsets Oregon at home with some big throws & great leadership.
Unfortunately that's not what I saw today. I saw some errant throws and an awful pick-6. And IU looks like a team with great coaching and a strong running game and a strong D. How would Mendoza fare without all that great support around him?

And Dante Moore had a rough outing today.

I haven't watched Simpson yet, I wanna see his tape

I guess there’s still time for someone to separate themselves but right now it seems like you could throw a dart at any one of the top 8 guys. Saint’s fans were probably pretty happy about possibly getting Arch and solving their qb problems for a while but now all the preseason picks seem to be flaming out.

I think Nussmeier must have been injured. While he wasnt great yesterday he looked much better than he has done earlier in the season and his balls had zip again. Gun to my head, thats who I'd take in R1 next year if that's the plan.

My ideal plan would be to make a very aggressive offer to Cincy for Burrow and see if they bite.

I would take a LT (who could either send Alaric to RT or play RT himself until it's time to move to LT) and a CB. Stafford looks like he can play at a high level for another 2 or 3 years.

And Simpson doesn't have great support around him? Believe me I don't know if you have ever been to Autzen Stadium, but it is one of the toughest venues in college football. Mendoza continued to compete and threw the game clinching touchdown.

Plus he ran for 31 yards against a tough opponent on the road with a good defense. Now Simpson also played a tough opponent on the road too, but I still like what Mendoza brings to the table and he is bigger than Simpson too.

He is Jared Goff, which is not a bad thing, but sure, he will need a good supporting cast as do most QBs.
