Yeah. Total brain fart. Long day planting trees. Fell asleep early, woke up way later than usual. Tried to cram some RoD in before I head back out and a perfect storm of a moron post was created.

Arch Manning achieved a lot in High School, and it’s pretty clear he is a great prospect, so he would be an amazing pick. Will he declare after one year? Will him only having one year of starting experience hurt his stock?

if Manning is taken before we pick then Garrett Nussmeier looks like a high ceiling, high floor, high character, prospect with plenty between his ears

I can see us giving up as many as three no 1 picks to move up to get the QB we want
Agree. If necessary yes. No problem.

Have to factor in those teams going through a 2 or 3 win season. So for an older QB like Burrow, could mean an injury plagued season again for him. For a young QB like Maye, could mean he sucked.

So yeah, I think whoever picks first will take a QB like Manning IF he is an absolute stud.

For example, post the disastrous 22' season, had the Rams had the #1 pick and Manning was considered a tremendous prospect and was available that year, the Rams take him and move on from Stafford a year later. And that's one year removed from a SB win.

Now if Manning is so so and there are questions, then maybe not.

Now, I heard one of the talking heads this week, I forget which, said that Manning is no slam dunk. Said people think he is the second coming of Elway, but his arm is not elite, good, but not elite, and he has barely played at the college level. So we should cool are jets that he us coming out and will be the #1 pick.
Burrow is older? The man is 28!

There's like a .5% chance the Bengals would give up on Burrow even if they had a bad year due to him being injured.

Especially if the Bengals end up moving their franchise. How ironic if they moved to St. Louis and trade Burrow to the Los Angeles Rams prior to the move.

That would be crazy.

If Burrow is for sale, our 1st round draft picks should go towards obtaining him. Forget Manning...he's still an unknown. But it's a near 0% chance this happens.

And here I am hoping STL gets an NFL team. I would be very irritated by the Bungles moving to STL.

Though yes I would take Burrow and his shitty sense of fashion. :thumbsup1:

From the limited PT I’ve seen, Arch looks like the real deal.

Sellers is a weapon, but I don’t see the Rams going in that direction, unfortunately.

Think about it... he will be 29. Let's say he was hurt again which is why they tanked.

Then let's say Archie Manning was viewed as an Andrew Luck or an Elway caliber QB prospect.

You don't think they wouldn't seriously consider moving on with a cost controlled young super star QB and moving Burrow? Indy did that with Uncle Peyton... granted he was a little older, but he was also more accompolished than Burrow.

My overall point was there won't be many teams, if any, that end up with the first pick, that won't take Manning, IF he is considered a great prospect. The Bengals are one of those that it is close, but that they would be an outlier.

Now maybe Manning will have big question marks and won't be considered the next Elway or Manning, etc... In that case then he would obviously be more gettable, but then would also be a bigger risk for a massive trade up.

More than likley they have to move up slightly to get the #2 or #3 QB next year. Hopefully the Pats and Titans have bad years and stick with their young QBs and then would be open to trading a top 5 or 6 pick. They both would prefer trading their picks to an NFC team if it's for a top QB prospect. So that would help narrow the competition.

Of course Atlanta sucking would really help as well. Would be nice to only have to move from 10 to 5 than from 20 to 5.

They seem to like Milroe, so Sellers might be Milroe a tad more refined in the passing game.

the false narrative out there is, that STL is just a baseball town & not a FB town. That's a bunch of you know what.
