Oh boy.... way to get off the original discussion. Trade, release whatever... The discussion was few if amy teams will trade that #1 pick next year if Manning lives up to expectations next yr. Even a team with quality starter whose name is not Mahomes or Allen and maybe very few others.
How am I getting way off the discussion when you keep moving the goal posts?
The Rams have 2 1st round picks next year and only in fantasy land will they be able to use them to trade for a veteran franchise QB. Unless there is a belief in a Dak Prescott, Tua or Carr type. I say no thanks there.
There isnt a world where a Burrow, Lawrence, Herbert etc are traded
So sure, its fun to speculate in the off season, but it has to be somewhat realistic

Agree on Big Ben, but Rivers was better in the regular season, but not in post season. He lost to the Patriots more than Cornwallis.
I don’t agree as simple as that. This years group wasn’t 1st rd worthy.

SO -yes searching for a QB later in the Draft might have made the most sense.

Last seasons draft your lucky to get a good QB after the 15th pick with 5 going in the first rd.

I dont know why he would, because that happened 1 time in history? On the other hand, if there is a Philip Rivers or Ben Roethlisberger in the draft who were arguably better than Eli, than why not take one of them? Or just get our next franchise QB out of a Hi-Vee supermarket?

You can do that?
Please tell me where the nearest Hi-Vee Supermarket is.

The expectations and rumors are Manning plans to stay for 2 more years.

I wouldn't expect him to be an option.

I just hate saying never in these hypotheticals. If for example everything were to go bad for Cincinnati this year and they finish with the first pick in the 2026 draft, and if Burrow were to miss significant time, I would not rule out the Bungles trading him out for a younger model, assuming they like a QB enough in the draft. Say perhaps Arch has an epic season and then declares.

The stars could line up on that. I could see it, even though I don't think it's likely.

Draft position and his 2025 year may change all that. If he's a shoe in for #1, there is no way he stays in school (99.9% sure he wouldn't). If he has an average year and isn't in the topic for top pick you're right, he will stay in school to improve his draft stock.

Like others on here, I love LaNorris Sellers. If Arch isn't available, I'd take Sellers in a heartbeat.
Sellers' highlights have that WOW factor. Hope he develops into a more accurate and consistent passer. But his athleticism is insane.

Pretty intriguing to think of a McVay offense with a truly mobile QB.
