Everyone of course knows that the rams traded #26 in this year's draft to ATL and as part of that trade the Rams were given ATL's 1st rd pick in next years draft. The Rams may or may not package those 2 first rd picks with perhaps even more picks to move up & take one of the top QBs in next year's draft. Next year's class of QBs is projected to be deep & talented. There is a group of 6 QBs currently rated high in the draft next year. The purpose of this discussion/thread is to discuss who each of thinks is the best option as a future franchise QB for the Rams should they chose to draft one next year in the 1st round. Here are the 6 QBs with links for You Tube video highlights of each QB.

Based ONLY on these highlight videos I like TN QB Iamaleava the best. Looks really good going through his reads. Processes quickly & delivers/rifles the ball quickly & accurately. Throws a beautiful ball. Makes accurate throws. Shows great pocket awareness. Throws great on the run. Fast runner with the ball. Lots to like. He would be my pick if he doesn't have any character issues. The only negative I'm seeing is a slight frame, but Jayden Daniels is like that, so there's that. LOL

Whoops some way or another I posted Nussmeier's video instead of Allar's. I will try to edit it. Can someone give some advice on how to edit my article? I fixed it. Thanks Rock

He’s as entitled as Shedeur Sanders is, judging from his actions leading to his leaving Tennessee for UCLA, and his dad is worse, a real helicopter parent.

I used to like him the most other than Arch, but that’s a firm no for me.

Thanks for your reply & opinion. What a shame. Ya can't fix stupid. Meddling parents may mean well, but their judgment is sincerely impaired. Deon made a huge mistake. McVay will not tolerate low or bad character from players or meddling parents. Bond screwed up big time too. Poor judgment. Young & dumb. The NIL $$$ has changed things in college sports obviously in a very big way. Evidently that a lot to do with the Iamaleava situation.

I wish Nussmeier was bigger... 6-2 200...

Klubnik looks like he has a live arm, but I think he is listed as 6-2-210... not that big either, but at least a little thicker to take hits.

Hopefully Norris develops his passing more and he could be special.

Allar is probably my top target assuming Manning stays and Allar has a good year. Plus, if Manning has a huge year and comes out, whoever is picking first will pick him even if they have a decent starter.

Outside of Daniels, Allen & Mahomes... what other QB would prevent a team from taking Manning, especially after going through what would have to be a horrendous season?

I mean even if the Bengals with Burrows had a horrendous year, meaning Burrows probably got hurt again, they would move Burrows and draft Manning. So any team finishing with the #1 pick, will take the top QB. Even Drake Maye would be traded after a 3 win season. So I have little hope we get that pick outside of Atlanta catering and getting us the #1 pick.

I don't know.. and, I hope this doesn't feel like hijacking.. I just want to point out that it could just be ammo for a QB trade.

Not hijacking at all my friend. You may very well be right. The last time McVay acquired a QB we all know how he did that. Could be dejavu all over again. LOL

As for the picks? The Iamaleava stuff is a concern.. but what I'll watch is how he deals with it. If he hits UCLA and absolutely kicks ass... and if he's serious about the draft process, unlike Sanders, I'd be willing to look past his stupid NIL antics this offseason.

The best scenario would have Arch coming out.. because that means there would potentially be several options.

Too early to make this call. There are a lot of very talented guys who will be draft eligible, but all will need to progress in some areas. Some will progress. Some won't. A few other guys to keep an eye on:
Fernando Mendoza (Indiana)
John Mateer (Oklahoma)
Avery Johnson (Kansas State)
Eli Holstein (Pitt)
Marcel Reed (TAMU)
Jayden Maiava (USC)
Taylen Green (Arkansas)

FWIW, I wasn't impressed by Nico when I watched him in 2024. He has elite physical tools, but his accuracy, reads, and processing were erratic.

1. Arch Manning….He’s most like his grandfather and hopefully lands on a better team.
2. LaNorris Sellers. Carrying the Gamecocks on his back.

I really like Allar, but still early.
He’s not accurate at all. Last year IMO was disappointing, let’s see how he comes out this year with a team as one of the favorites to win a National Championship.
