Too early to make this call. There are a lot of very talented guys who will be draft eligible, but all will need to progress in some areas. Some will progress. Some won't. A few other guys to keep an eye on:
Fernando Mendoza (Indiana)
John Mateer (Oklahoma)
Avery Johnson (Kansas State)
Eli Holstein (Pitt)
Marcel Reed (TAMU)
Jayden Maiava (USC)
Taylen Green (Arkansas)

FWIW, I wasn't impressed by Nico when I watched him in 2024. He has elite physical tools, but his accuracy, reads, and processing were erratic.
Guys can make huge leaps in one year in college... they can also fall apart or plateau.

Agree too soon.

We got after the best available QB talent - whether it is a rookie or a young NFL bet who has the upside to man the Sean McVay offense. Sean has never selected a true collegiate blue chipper before, and it should be interesting to see who he and his fellow QB consultants consider worthy to follow the Soul Stealer. Those are mighty big shoes to fill, and it is about time we got a proper dynasty started in the Land of LaLa. Maybe we trade for a proven QB vet like we did with Jared Goff.

Everyone of course knows that the rams traded #26 in this year's draft to ATL and as part of that trade the Rams were given ATL's 1st rd pick in next years draft. The Rams may or may not package those 2 first rd picks with perhaps even more picks to move up & take one of the top QBs in next year's draft. Next year's class of QBs is projected to be deep & talented. There is a group of 6 QBs currently rated high in the draft next year. The purpose of this discussion/thread is to discuss who each of thinks is the best option as a future franchise QB for the Rams should they chose to draft one next year in the 1st round. Here are the 6 QBs with links for You Tube video highlights of each QB.

Great stuff, RamsRock! Good to have all the videos in one place!

To answer your question, Manning would be my choice--by far. He isn't there yet, so that's a projection.

Other things: there are usually breakout players that come out of nowhere, so I expect the list to grow by 2-3 guys by the end of the 2025 season--and probably a couple of guys on it now will drop off.

Manning and Nico Imaleava have the most talent, but "they" say Manning's not coming out in 2026. Manning might have said it himself. Of course, these things can change in a hurry. If he knew McVay wanted to draft him, he'd change his mind quick, I'm sure. He also has to actually do it on the field. He has been on the bench for two years--albeit behind a stud QB who was the #1 recruit when he came out of HS--Ewers. I think he's the real deal, partially based on the coaching and mentoring he's had his whole life from Peyton and Eli, but we need to see it. He's a great athlete, for sure, but we need to see how well and how quickly he makes decisions from the pocket against elite defenses.

I agree that Nico has some red flags, and I wouldn't touch him. Tennessee seems to be keeping it in house, but it seems that Tennessee feels that he betrayed them and tried to renege on his deal there--ask for an extra $2M per year. (The following article is a bit confusing. It says he asked for $4M MORE, but that--$6M?--seems ridiculous. I think he asked for $4M total, reading between the lines). Here's the article: https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...s-football-tennessee-nil-dispute/83126675007/ (Not sure if I posted the link according to ROD rules--let me know if I did it wrong.)

Sellers is a great runner but a raw passer.

I think Allar might rise to the top if Manning disappoints or stays in school. He makes NFL throws to the sidelines that I don't see other guys make.

You wanted to keep the topic on college guys, and I understand that, so I'll just add as a side note that it might be a better option to trade those picks--the Rams have done it before! I'd rather trade for an established guy, but I don't think that's very likely--you think Cincinnati would trade Burrow? I'd trade both 2026 #1s and a 2027 #1 for him--probably would do the same for Herbert, but NFL teams don't trade good, young QBs.

I honestly dont think we are going to be in top 10 for picks with either. ATL will prob be 15th in draft and we are gonna be in late teens -mid 20s prob again. We would need to convince who the bottom team is with a huge haul to move up!

That being said Im liking Sellers overall and Mateer so far. On the Fence with Nussmeier/Klubnik. Manning we will see on him, but unless we are #1 overall, wont happen. LamaLeava is a hard no for me.

If we want to move up bad enough we will have the firepower.

The key is to get into the top 5, in front of the QB needy teams.

We could offer our two 1's next year and even a 1 in 2027 for example.

What other team would have the starting firepower of 2 first rounders next year?

15 & 28 and the 2027 1st round pick would total about 2100 points. (Using 2nd round value for future 1st)
That would be 4th overall pick territory

Cade Klubnik.

Im a Clemson guy and watch every game. Kid is a winner.
One of the biggest things that gravitate me towards him is not only does he have a very live arm, and has excellent wheels.. he's a bonafide gunslinger which I love and has the MOXIE. Sure, he has turnover worthy plays but he doesn't stop slinging it and doesn't let it get to him.. just like STAFFORD.

I want my QBs to have IT.. the fiery attitude, the competitiveness.

He's only going to get better also.

He doesn't have as big of an arm as Stafford, but not many do....

Agree just need to cut down a bit on the TO's, I beleive he will.

He’s not accurate at all. Last year IMO was disappointing, let’s see how he comes out this year with a team as one of the favorites to win a National Championship.
Being a PSU fan, I watch every game. He seemed to panic at times this year, particularly in the big games. But he is a tough kid and not afraid to stick his nose in there. Hopefully, he'll hone his skills a bit more this year and deliver better in the clutch.
