Two years of being a fan that were wasted... and I refuse to believe he made any final decisions on either Gurley or Goff. The man was clueless when it came to Offense.

If I had to grade his efforts while coach of the Rams, I'd give him a D.... for severe under-achievement.
Jeff Fisher may have been the one that influenced Goff being the pick. His son Bradon brought Goff to his attention. Maybe you can give cred to Brandon for Goff? Here's an excerpt of an article on it:

https://amp-nfl-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/amp.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000658252/article/how-jeff-fisher-la-rams-decided-on-jared-goff-with-no-1-pick?

"Then, a couple of months before the 2015 draft, Fisher was in his since-abandoned office at RamsPark in suburban St. Louis late one night watching game tape of a Pac-12 defender -- he can't recall which one -- when his son, Brandon, entered the room. As Brandon, then the Rams' assistant defensive backs coach (he has since had "assistant" removed from his title), approached Fisher's desk, he gestured toward the screen and said, "Can you believe this guy?"

His father did a double-take, believing the reference was to the defensive player.

"The quarterback," Brandon clarified. "He's ridiculous."

Kinda funny... his son knew more about an NFL offense than he did.

"Oh, the quarterback... don't pay much attention to those guys... luckily, I'm very adept at hiring top notch offensive genius-type Coordinators.
In fact, I am very excited about my latest selection, Rob Boras.
Son, you seem to know lots more about offense and quarterbacks than I do.
How about we push to draft this kid and pair him up with Rob. We'll shoot right up to the top of the offenses in all the NFL! Remember when I told the media years ago that our offense would keep defensive coordinators up at night trying to keep track of Austin, Bailey and Britt? Well, this time I mean it!!

I was excited about Mike Sims-Walker lol

COMPLETELY forgot he was a Ram at one point...wow.

I’ve always written out the Rams lineup on paper, convinced,

“This is the year!”

Ugh. Wrong so much.

You, my friend.... I appreciate your ability to have a positive outlook. There was a stretch of several years where I stopped reading our depth chart when I got to the receivers and almost began crying.

First and foremost, there was a time when I thought Fisher was really going to put it together.

I just really hated the 2014 draft - hold on, don't flame me yet.

I knew we needed a tackle, but I was already growing weary of defending Fisher's offensive picks (Brian Quick, Isaiah Peed, Tavon Austin), except at running back, I really liked Zac Stacey. So what I really wanted was Kahlil Mack and Aaron Donald. And you know of the two, I actually expected Donald to be the less likely to be a contract issue. :)

Anyway, I really expected them to take a tackle in the first round, and while it's not hard to get excited about that, there was trepidation over that for the people selecting those picks, so I hoped for Mack and Matthews if we had to take a tackle for need, and to be honest I was prioritizing linebackers over defensive linemen. I mean, we had Long, Hayes, Brockers and Quinn. Anyway, after they inevitably chose Robinson, I held out hope overlong that he was going to develop into a useful player somewhere along the offensive line.

Oh yeah, I was also one of those jerks who wanted Suh over Bradford, because I like defense, but after they took Bradford I for sure defended his play way overlong, but again mostly because I was opposed to Fisher wasting any more picks on offense, so when it became inevitable that Fisher was going to draft a quarterback, I was annoyed with the Goff pick, not because of Goff but because of Fisher, and while I preferred Goff over Wentz, I thought Fisher was an idiot for not picking a quarterback more suitable to his system. So I was way wrong again with the way everything played out, and I never would have guessed that we'd have Suh on the team.

Finally, on defense, I just thought Joyner would make a much greater impact for us than he has since moving to safety.

Oh yeah, I was way too bummed over Grant Wistrom leaving for Seattle at the time.

You mean you didn’t look at the lethal combination of Britt, Quick, Tavon and Kendrick’s and think, “Who do you leave in single coverage? This is unstoppable!!”

I too had high hopes for Wiegert, too
Wow thought i was the only one who felt that pain

MARCUS DUPREE
Thought the kid was gonna ball

Loved Dupree at Oklahoma. He performed well in LA during his late season opportunity. Enough so, that I thought he had a shot the next season. Remember he was basically on one knee after the catastrophic USFL injury.

So many things it would probably crash ROD if I tried to list them all. But most recently was my prediction of 12-4 for the 2018 season. Looks like they will finish better than I thought, I usually predict too many wins, but not this year.

"Firing Rich Brooks is a mistake".
In comes Vermiel.

"Yes! We got Scott Linehan!"
Nope.

"Yes! We got Spagnuolo!"
Nope

Drafting Joyner pissed me off when we could have taken D. CARR.
So...I guess I was right. Then I was wrong. Now it's a push.

Hmmmmm. Don’t know why you’d think that. Plenty of posts about mistakes before mine.

I thought for sure that Michael Brockers would be the nose tackle and they wouldn't use him at defensive end straight up.

I actually scoffed at a couple posters who thought he would be a DE.

Whoops. :D

I wasn’t all in on Jared Goff. In fact, I thought he would likely flop. I’ve come to really admire his calm and his arm talent.

(It’s not like he’s reading this, but) Jared, I called you out and said your destiny is up to you. Bravo to you, Jared. You brought it. Congratulations on your success with the Rams, I am most definitely a fan of yours!

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on the draft and Goff. I recall I was at the Smokehouse one Sunday moring for their great buffet and a bunch of my buddies were watching the Eagles in the morning game as Wentz was having a great day. Looks like your Rams picked the wrong guy; he's a bust. I told them that if we had a better HC then Goff would be a better QB because i saw him play many times at CAL being a PAC-12 fan. He's smart as all heck. Fisher is a ding-dong and Stan K will recognize that soon enough and hire a a coach who knows QBs and offenses. Now my buddies are eating humble pie.

When we beat the 49ers and tied them in 2012 I thought the Rams turned the corner under Fishmeister. I was wrong

Couldn't wait to see Alex Barron fix our Left Tackle situation. LOL
Excited about our Nose Tackle Adam Carriker

When I was seven years old I thought they were going to beat the Steelers in the SuperBowl and shut my stupid Steeler's fan brother up.
Then I thought we would just make it to the SB every couple of years instead of having to wait 20 years.
