I don't follow college teams too closely except for USC so I mostly go by what others say about prospects.

However, the ones I was most wrong about were Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart.

I thought both would do extremely well in the pros.

I know I know - they aren't Rams but USC being LA - I figured I could include them

The hiring of Fisher. At the time I thought it was a good idea. He brought (I believed ) a certain amount of credibility and stability to a team that sorely needed it. What would play out I could have never imagined. Sadly I have played for coaches just like him. All from a certain era. I have a system. My system works. If we lose I can give you a hundred reasons why we lost. But its not because of the system. My system works!

Rams fans showing up for the Chiefs game. After the disgusting lack of support for the Rams displayed by the Greenbay fans taking close to 50% of the seats, I thought for sure the same seats would be sold to Chiefs fans. Rams fans showed up big time for the Monday Night Football game. Bravo!

I've been wrong about a bunch of things.
Austin was going to be a game changer.
Brian Quick just needs more time.
Jason Smith should be a ten year starter at LT.
Fred Stokes would fix the Rams pass rush.
Troy Drayton was a great trade.
Jimmy Kennedy was a can't miss first round pick.
Post on here "James Laurenitis isn't going anywhere". I posted that the night before he was released. Haha.
The list goes on.

Thinking Fisher would fix the Linehan and Spags mess .
Fisher did fix part of the mess by bringing in talented defensive players. But after 3 years, it was time for him to go and have someone bring in offensive talent to complement the defensive talent he brought it. He was let go 2 years too late imho.

I will say Fisher was right about Gurley and Goff (? - was that his pick or Sneads) on the offensive side.

His WR choices really sucked. I hated every one of Fisher's WR picks except for Tavon. I was really hoping Tavon would make it. I was definitely wrong about Tavon.

The biggest thing that I was wrong about was Aaron Donald. I bought into the whole, Too small for the NFL bit.

Other things... I backed the Fisher hire. I don’t know if I was wrong because he helped improve things more than the previous coaches, but I thought he would accomplish more. Maybe he just followed orders and made the team tank to get them back to L.A.

There were many picks I disagreed with, ie Ogletree, Tavon,GRob, Jj, etc,.. but that’s all water under the bridge.

i wasn't wrong about any of those players ..... it was all down to god awful coaching ,,, that is all

To be fair, some of it WAS coaching. The offensive coaches were just gawd-awful during the Fisher era and just had no ability to take raw talent and turn them into good NFL players. And coaching across the board was worse than awful in the the Linehan era.

I don't want to give Sam Bradford too much slack for his failings, but he really drew the short end of the stick when it came to coaches during the early part of his career, which is critical for a young QB (most young players of any position, really). Between lousy OL's (which was at least part a function of lousy coaching), injuries, and retrograde offensive coaches, they turned a guy with a lot of arm talent into a David Carr'ed Checkdown Charlie.

There's a reason the Rams were so consistent in hitting on defensive draft picks during the Fisher era while missing so many on the offensive side of the ball. Because we had good defensive coaches, we were able to bring in raw prospects and coach them up into good players. Because we had lousy offensive coaches, the raw players the brought in never had a chance, assuming they would have had a chance in the first place.

"Payton is a scrub. Linehan is the better offensive mind."

I remember being so stoked for that Linehan hire.

I was only half joking .... carriker injury hurt his career .. and linehan tried to make Leonard a blocking fullback for Jackson

Buying into the Brian Quick hype. I mean Jeff Fisher scouted him. Why did I ever fall for that?

If I had a $1 million for everytime I gave Bradford the benefit of the doubt during his tenure with the Rams, I'd match his career payroll

I thought Fitzpatrick was our new Kurt Warner. First game I think he had 300+ with 3 TDS. We found this genius from an Ivy League. That’s going to outsmart defenses to the super bowl. Next week looked like Smoker, Martin, bulger just with legs.

Sounds like the M.O. for his entire career even up until this day

I was hoping the 2nd coming of Chuck Knox could be as successful as the first.

Nope... not with the witch running the team and years of bad players/drafts.

Oh yeah, and I thought Lawrence Phillips was gonna be a star.

Okay I'll stop now lol. :hiding:
