Hey Everyone!

Now that the final roster is mostly done, which position groups do you think are the weakest overall?

OL: Entering this offseason, McSneads plan was to move Corbett to C and promote Evans to starting RG, however, Bobby Evans struggled to hang on to the position and Brian Allen is now the starting C. Did McSnead realize Bobby wasn't ready or did Allen rise to the occasion? Allen has not started since 2019 and did not get any preseason game snaps.

ILB: Many considered this group to be the weakest position group on D in 2020. Kiser, who went into last season as a starter but he's been cut, and we're going into the year with Young and Reeder who were the starters at the end of last year. Behind them, we have the often injured Howard and the rookie Ernest Jones. Will Young and Reeder improve on their performance last year? Will there be new starters by years end?

RB: This group was promising before Akers went down for the season and we were left with the often injured Henderson and a group of RBs with no starting experience. After Henderson suffered another injury, the move was made to bring in Michel who couldn't stay healthy with New England as well. Can this position group stay healthy through the season?

CB: This group is top heavy with All-Pro Ramsey and Williams who was a ball hawk last year. But only 4 corners are rostered, and behind them is 3rd year David Long who hasn't played much yet and the rookie Robert Rochell. One injury could dramatically change the performance of this group.

Depth at CB is probably worst, depending on how you feel about David Long. I took the question as asking which position group is weakest after cuts because of the cuts. RB was already a weak group, as was ILB.

I voted OL because I think keeping Evans was a bad move. That's really the only position group where I think cuts actually played a part in the group's weakness.

I just meant overall since the roster is finalized, but anyone can interpret and vote how they want.

ILB.

The others are strong position groups. Having 4 CBs rostered means little when Deayon and probably Orr will both be on the ps.

We have talent and depth on the OL.

Two starting caliber RBs.

We have no clue what we have at ILB. We've heard multiple times that group is better than last year, but we haven't seen it yet.

The one that bothers me the most is OLB. Obo will be on IR soon and Lewis is a walking injury - I like and hope that Garrett gets playing time, but we need another body there

Agreed, this is still a concern just because of injury history. Obo and Lewis I would love to see playing but like you said they aren't reliable. Garrett I think will be a huge weapon in pass rushing packages but if I was an opposing NFL coach and I saw Garrett coming into the game as a starter I'd be running straight at him all game long. Hopefully between Obo and Lewis we can get a whole season out of the two of them.

I voted the offensive line. I think we're fine with the starters. But if we lose a couple of them for any length of time the depth with this unit is scary.

Went with running back. All of our running backs have had some kind of injury issue in their career, and three is too few to count on.

Rams will sign another RB. No way they go into the season with just 4 OLB, two of which can't stay healthy and one who hasn't played a down.

I went with Cornerback. I've always felt that the CB position is much like starting pitching in baseball, you never have enough quality or depth.
I don't have much confidence in Long and Rochelle is a very green rookie so we are dangerously thin at this crucial position.
I certainly hope that Coach Mac and Les Snead have a plan to address this issue or it could comeback and bite us big time.

We're 1 sprained ankle away from Jake Funk getting considerable carries. Two sprained ankles from Funk being #1 RB. Nothing against Funk but nobody wants to rely on a 7th round rookie.
IMO Funk will be limited to PS and cleanup RB duty this year. He may progress throughout the year and become a solid RB2 but that won’t happen this year.

Yep. OLB looks very suspect to me.

The points made about ILB and CB are also valid...and RB :laugh1:

Akers down, Xavier Jones down, Calais down.....
The Rams have a guy who can’t stay healthy and hasn’t done much in Henderson, in Michel a guy who has been an effective back but has injury issues too and a rookie with two ACL replacements.
Fing yikes.
Rams gotta pick up someone else at RB.

What is scary re: the OL is the unknown. How can we project Allen and the top 5 when we have only seen depth types. Allen is two years out on film, we have to wait and see with him.

What is scary re: the RBs is we are depending on what might be a fragile room with injury. I like the room, I just don't like Hendy's glass bones or Funk's bad knee. This room might torture us all season. Hope not, but meh.

The ILB position is definitely the weakest room on the team. But we probably have enough and once Jones steps in things should look pretty good.
