Olne and ILB were the top vote getters in this category.
Other than depth, I'm very, very, very confident and happy with the Oline.

And let's have a shout-out to the ILBs. Both of them made touchdown-saving plays at the goal line in consecutive weeks and both have played excellent football. Looks like Rodrigue was right when she said the group went from concern a year a go to strength this year.

I've always backed Reeder to an extent in terms of recognizing that he has some value. He's not a scrub and does some things well. But ILB is still not a strength for this team, not to my eye at least.

Maybe that changes as Jones comes online. I hope so because if we can get better there we'll see more third and long situations which right now is the defense's biggest weakness. I lost count yesterday on how many third downs were third and short. You can't live well that way on defense, great D is about staying ahead of the chains.

Rookie Jones is our future make no doubt about that ....he came in & played the Kenny Young position but Jones had serious issues in getting tied up with blockers that negated him from most all plays. Young vs Jones is not really debatable. Young is far superior to Jones at this time & there is a drop-off in production with the Rookie.

Troy Reeder does continue to have a few bad reads & reactions when on the field but generally does a very good job for DC Morris. I would not be surprised if he is seen playing the strong side OLB'er position for a half dozen snaps against the Bucs in place of Justin Lawler. Morris did run about a half dozen or more four DL'ers onto the field yesterday. SJD & AD @ DE with Robinson & Gaines inside. DE Jonah Williams got in on that 4 DL play too @ the Strongside DE post. Williams is trending upward.

Reeder does have some ability to put pressure on the QB's. Thus leaving the last reserve OLB'er Lewis to remain behind Hollins. MLB'er Reeder still remains very important to this middle defense!

Did anyone notice Kenny Young wearing a Defensive play-calling wired helmet?

Reeder is solid in the run game, but atrocious in pass defense. Completely blew his assignment yesterday on the 30yard pass to Doyle. This has been the story with him. If he's in on passing downs he will get picked on 100%.

Young is the best we have now, but hopefully Jones develops fast because he offers the most overall upside.

I’d take that with a grain of salt. PFFs grading at times seems whimsical at best. Just look at the QB grades last week.

In the end I hope PFF is really right.
Yep, I never post PFF grades as an end all, be all grading system. But it's nice to see when it's a positive for a player we had all left for dead before this season. See how the Bucs game goes.

ILB'er Kenny Young's rate of Tacks per game, he should have over 105 tacks by the time the regular season ends. He is looking like a Bonified Star & leader in DC Morris's defense. Did anyone else notice when they kept running the play that Young was disqualified in they deleted the massive long-time molestation & holding that the Colts OL'er was performing on him?

If you want to see why Young was so :fire1:hot go back & observe that bunch of :crap:put on him before the whistle was blown.

I do not see Rookie Jones bypassing Young position in this defense this season unless injured. Young is primarily the only ILb'er on the field in most defensive packages.

If MLB Reeder were to go down which has not occurred since he arrived as a UDFA, I would expect that MLB Micah Kiser would be his replacement not the rookie Jones.

Young being the first guy to drag down ball carriers after they run by him isn't impressive to me at all. He can have a thousand tackles doing that and it doesn't help us net more third and long situations which is where we need to get.

I have seen what you are describing above Merlin but for whatever reason, both our starting safeties are not effective in run filling either I was say so far in the first two gms I call Fuller & Rapp pathetic in making any plays overall. It very well could be DC Morris who mandates such delay too. I think Jordan Fuller's pass coverage is also poor.

What I see is Kenny Young pulling the rope in this Ram defense making up for those two starting safeties who are MIA in run support. So my take on some of what you're saying negative on Young is him by his effort hustling to make the late tackle or it would be even bigger damaging defensive play.

I am disappointed thus far in the play of both Rapp & Fuller. Corners Williams & Long are not on top of their game either. However, we are still winning. Nows the time to get this crap straighten out for Brady & the Buc's or this next game may end up being a blowout this upcoming Sunday. Brady will pick these safeties apart.

Boni I don't disagree that Young has improved. But he's just not the guy we need in this defense. He gives us range and good chase/tackle ability but his game is similar to Littleton. Young is best served in space or chasing the action. He's moreso a 4-3 WILL type like Corey was. Those types are not good at stuffing shit they're good at tackling from an angle or behind.

Funny thing too is around the league there's a lot of teams that try to fill ILB with guys like that. Between them and the souped up SS types and the fact that it's really hard to find ILBs in the draft who can move well and drop well in the pass game and still stuff the run those types of players have a bit of a premium on them. They tend to go before we pick in late round 2. So the Rams have taken a page from what the 9ers have been doing in drafting that second/third tier option and trying to coach him up (Jones).

Jones of course is not ready yet. But maybe at some point he will be our Navarro Bowman by growing into what they need. Instinct can make up for lack of raw speed/athleticism with ILBs.

Is there a clip of that molestation? (Man, never thought I'd type THAT sentence...)

Cuz Young was hot af screaming at that ref.

Young kids must not have heard the stories of guys in the pile literally biting and shoving their knuckles up people's sphincters... those stories from the pile in the 60s and 70s make me glad I wasn't a player back then. Great googily moogily

I don't know. I have the recorded game from Direct TV NFL ticket but I am not smart enough to know how to get it on to this forum. I can tell you that he was being molested & held by a Colt OL'er on his back for the world to see.

I have contacted @Merlin to see if he still has the capacity to secure the video from the time of the snap.

All we have thus far is the time period after the whistle & the RB was down.
