Things are starting to come out. The Rams aren't happy with Stafford in regards to his contract.

This tells me that Stafford could be gone as early as next year or no later than after the 2024 season. Matt obviously wants to take his money and retire. I think he refused because it obviously would open the door for the Rams to trade him or release him next year. So now it would lend credence to the reported wanting to trade him.

The big question is why have the Rams soured on Stafford their golden boy? I think it's his health. I think they like me are seriously worried about his repeated spinal injuries. It also seems to lock in the Rams taking a QB in the first round next year. It's what I've been hearing for months and why I posted that I think the Rams will take a QB in the next draft to be their QB1 of the future. It also could mean they will make an all out play for Herbert next year while he's on his fifth year option. He's exactly the gunslinger type of QB that McVay covets. I still don't believe cheap ass Spanos will pay what Herbert will demand as a FA.

I think this whole thing is just getting started.
Or…

The Rams are committed to Stafford for the foreseeable future, and Lombardi is a lying hack.

This "Report" comes from Colin Cowherd and "His Sources".

Mike Lombardi is a piece-of-shit in my opinion. However, he's still better than Cowherd ... my opinion.

Cowherd likes to refer to "His Sources", and then report something that's simply NOT TRUE or ACCURATE.

One of the more well known examples (anyone can look it up) was when Cowherd "Reported" that MLB pitcher A.J. Burnett's struggles were the result of going through the "worst divorce in the history of divorces."

The Simple Truth was that A.J. Burnett was not divorced, had not gone through a divorce, was happily married and is still married to the same woman. Another Truth was that Colin Cowherd's reporting was ... AND REMAINS ... Complete and Total Trash.

Truth is The Rams are ALWAYS weighing there options. They’re open to conversations with any & all players.
-Les Snead has said that throughout the years.Does it mean they’re going to trade a player?
-I’m an Angels Fan & have friends that are SF Giants Fans just to give examples.Buster Posse & Ohtani & even AD99.There has to come a time when you take offers at any price.
—The Rams traded(gave away) Jalen Ramsey who they gave up a few 1sr.rd. draft picks to get & is Super Bowl Champ that’s a potential HOF player.
There comes a point when teams have to make tough decisions no matter what player it is & if you don’t reach out or understand the value of a player your not making a true evaluation on your team.
—The Rams in 2023 have made a commitment w/ Kupp,AD99, &Stafford.
As Rams Fans we should know that at this time LAST YEAR Sean Mcvay was having doubts of his FUTURE.I was at a early interview during training camp last year with him discussing staying on as HC.
We can all start DRAMA which imo Jourdan did at the end of 2022(3).She had (open) knowledge of his thoughts that was used against him.I don’t know when it is right for a reporter to use certain information? I thought she sold herself out.I thought Mcvay at the end of the season was truthful of coming back to The Rams as The HC.I’m sure next season he has to look at where he is in his LIFE & make that decision again.
NOTHING is FOREVER.

Yes - Jim Rome calling players names to their face is BS as well. How talk show host want to get an audience can be RUTHLESS. It is what it is.
Being open & honest has an effect.
- I like how Sean Mcvay stays TRUE to HIMSELF!! As RAM FANS
IMO we could not be any luckier.

Jim Rome is a Fucking Pussy.

Insulted Everett on-camera, with a crew of men within ten feet. Rome was not going to get hurt in that situation; and he knew it. Complete and total set-up by a fucking coward. My opinion at that time ... and now.

I can understand if the Rams wanted Stafford to redo his contract, but it also doesn't mean they were trying to get rid of him for not agreeing. I gotta imagine they asked quite a few players about that very thing (know they asked Floyd) since they were in a crunch for money. However, I can see the Rams drafting a QB next year with their 1st round pick since Stafford is pretty close to retiring.

If you are going to use common sense, sound judgement and objectivity, this Forum may NOT be for you.

That depends on Stafford. If he plays lights out this year the Rams will be happy.

Key with them is not being a load in the pay vs production equation. So he is very much in control of that with his play.

To date he's had two seasons with us, one of which was everything they hoped for and the other where he didn't look too good then got hurt. He simply cannot afford to put together back-to-back poor outings at his age and with this particular team. If he doesn't look great or even if he can't finish the season due to injury the Rams will be considering futures options as they should.

But this time last year I figured he would be stronger in the system in year two, with another camp. Didn't happen but to some extent there were a lot of variables that didn't go his way. Maybe this season he gets good protections and we see him mature in this system and take things to another level. I see no reason why that cannot happen. Especially if the Rams give the guy a run game. If that happens we could see this offense make that move back to a top unit and all this talk about his contract will be bullshit.

Oh how about this history: The LA Xtreme were the only champions of the XFL because NBC dropped the XFL concept after the first season due to dismal ratings. Shortly after this, McMahon announced that the league would be dissolved.
Who did Los Angeles Xtreme beat in the championship game: THE SAN FRANCISCO DEMONS!

Hmmm...Is just me or does anybody else get the feelin' that OldNotDead is confusing Staff with Rob Havenstein? I mean they're both white guys, they play on the offensive side and they are well paid veterans, etc.
Just wonderin'......

I love the “any team could’ve had him” line, yeah if both teams were willing to destroy their cap they could’ve done it no problem.
Whether or not any rumors might have any basis, the reality is that Rams are currently stuck with Stafford. For better or for worse.

The Rams owe him big bucks on his contract. (Don't ask me how much, it's too hard to calculate unless you're a cap freak... but it's a lot.) Too much dead cap to eat or trade.

Our Super Bowl winning qb also had arm fatigue last year, couldn't fully air it out in camp, and never had a chance to get going afterwards due to the oline. He then had a serious season ending spinal contusion. He has also previously had a serious back injury and lots of other wear and tear. He's now 35.

Hard to imagine a team wanting to trade for him at the moment. If he can get in another healthy productive year and make the Rams competitive again in 2023, maybe that changes.

Meanwhile the Rams are in a massive rebuild except for a core of three stars all over thirty. Rams in the past have dumped lots of contracts, including stars, and eaten a lots of cap space.

If the Rams decide their current rebuild isn't likely to put them in contention in the next season or two it is frankly easy to see them moving on from Stafford, or others, if they have the opportunity.

I never listened to that little bitch again after that. I love that Blade flipped the table and made rome release his true school girl voice for all to hear as he let out his scream of bitchassness. I just regret that Blade didn't knock him the fuck out.

Fast forward to today... I still can't decide if that whole thing was a planned stunt for ratings. I am 100% on the fence now. I still hate the little bitch though and I will call him that to his face if I ever cross paths with him.

I called Kraft a "known cheater" to his face when I had the misfortune of almost stepping on him in Atlanta (we were both there for the SB). It fucked with his tiny head so bad that he almost fell to his death trying to climb into the Escalade he was riding in. I called him that and you could see his embarrassment/anger written all over his face... so he tried his best to quickly climb into the Escalade and escape. His foot slipped on the running board he was trying to lift his tiny little foot up to so he could climb all the way up that high. LOL. I just wish now that I had used far more vulgar language. I will not make that mistake if I run into rome.
