Well the opportunity would have to present itself. I totally agree but should it not work out that way I'm not going to consider it hollow. Now if they both made nfc championship game I will take it in a heartbeat. That's where it would mostly count. Let's all hope it comes to that
Yeah if Tampa wins another ring this year, it won’t feel hollow because the Saints whopped their ass twice. It’ll feel like a ring and be awesome. A ring is a ring.

Tony Dungy putting the blame on the Rams D during the halftime show
The defense is 100% to blame for us not winning during regulation. There's no excuse to let a team with no timeouts march the entire field in about 1 minute and 30 seconds. It was an embarrassing effort.

After a game like this I just find myself wondering how much we miss Tutu.

P.S. blue font alert.

I overrated this team. They have only beaten 3 teams with a winning record , and barely beat the rest in a few games. A lot of big names and little to show for it. McVay is a notch below Shanny and it showed today. Just look at all the 3rd downs they picked up with great designed routes. Wide open at the sticks. Took advantage of the match ups. We throw it deep on 3rd downs. Still sick at the way the meltdown. Good luck sleeping tonight.

Yea I won't sleep it's like we won the division but doesn't feel right. I'm pissed and won't let myself be happy. It's like I don't want today to end not because tomorrow is Monday like usual but just very ancy agitated annoyed and somehow unfulfilled if that makes sense. Maybe I'm just nuts lol.

Stafford threw as many touchdowns in his first season as a ram aa goff the last 2 years combined. I really don't understand how this Jared narrative keeps coming up.
It's not just about TD's, it's about winning and I don't see much difference between 6 losses last season vs this years 5. Did throwing twice as many TD's make a meaningful difference?

They can thank Seattle for staying home next week. Not that (that's) going to make much difference.

I would say instead that McVay often goes from being too aggressive early to being too risk aversive late when he has the lead. He has often then called in too many robocall runs. It maybe came back and bit him today. I also don't like his habit of leaving too much time on the clock especially at the end of halves.

On the other hand I liked his play calling in the first half until he instead inexplicably failed to run the ball on third and 1/2 yard. Imo (stated at the time) that was a major error. Unfortunately it became the turning point in the game given that the Niners got the ball twice in a row and scored each time.

There were other problems, notably with the defense and the oline run and pass blocking. But in a close game everything matters.

Yes. The reason you want 3rd and short is so you have many options to get the first with a reasonably high successful percentage play. Why we continue to call lower percentage plays downfield on 3rd and short is frustrating, especially in crucial times during the game. Just throw it 3 yards and move the fucking chains.

Yea totally agree in a perfect world yea decimate the whiners but it's hard to win a Superbowl. I'd celebrate it just the same

Especially when the only real success SF was having all game was just by pounding the football—which they couldn’t do in that 2 min situation.

If Rams fans worldwide were polled before the game, and asked whether they’d rather be up 7 with 90 seconds to go, with Jimmy needing to go 90 yards with no timeouts OR have the offense try and score to tie the game in the same situation, the results would’ve been 100%-0% in favor of the D being on the field. Which is why it’s kinda hard to blame McVay for sitting on the ball on the last drive.

Imagining how you would have reacted one year ago today if Goff threw the go ahead TD and the defense allowed a team to go 88 yards in less than two minutes with no timeouts.....and then someone saying the loss was on Goff.

At least fake it....try to be consistent. Otherwise instead of writing the post above, just type "I don't like Matt Stafford".
Sorry I'm not buying your "but what about Goff" scenario.

Stafford wasn't the primary reason for the loss but a game ending turnover is a game ending turnover. Especially an avoidable turnover, not a failed last second hail Mary. And I don't care who the QB is.

was the stadium in St. Louis ever this loud for the opposing teams side? Genuinely concerned that we may never have a home field advantage vs the Niners

Shanahan is to McVay what Jeff Fisher was to Pete Carroll: an inferior coach who has a style that causes the superior coach absolute fits.

Part of that was Fisher built the Rams explicitly to beat Seattle, just like Parabolic Dish Ears builds the 9ers explicitly to beat the Rams. McVay and Snead need to turn the tables on that shit.

Yeah but you are leaving out the fact if you would rather have the Rams try to seal the victory by getting one first down or rely on a D that got flat out abused in the 2nd half. Sorry, McVay showed he had no balls in that situation. I'd rather we lost if he actually did his best to slay the beast that keeps slaying us.

Check out the post game press conferences...

Ramsey was pissed, great competitor. McVay looked pissed and disappointed. Both only spoke for about 2 minutes.

Stafford gave the longest session, and was more even keeled.

Then the best was Kupp. He started talking and then the fire alarm went off declaring an emergency... How appropriate after that mess. Maybe someone trashed an alarm or lit something on fire in the locker room. Funny.

How about you don't sell your f'n tickets to Niners fans?
I'm a season ticket holder. Can't go to every game, but I only sell to verified ram fans (only do ticketmaster if it's a last second thing). The Facebook season ticket member group is lit up with people angry at all the other members who sold out on ticketmaster.
