It's not just about TD's, it's about winning and I don't see much difference between 6 losses last season vs this years 5. Did throwing twice as many TD's make a meaningful difference?
They can thank Seattle for staying home next week. Not that (that's) going to make much difference.
Yeah but if Jimmy G is put into that situation 10 times vs this D, how many times does the drive end in a TD? Twice? Three times?Yeah but you are leaving out the fact if you would rather have the Rams try to seal the victory by getting one first down or rely on a D that got flat out abused in the 2nd half. Sorry, McVay showed he had no balls in that situation.
We cant honestly sit here with a straight face and say that McVay is a better coach than Shanahan right nowPart of that was Fisher built the Rams explicitly to beat Seattle, just like Parabolic Dish Ears builds the 9ers explicitly to beat the Rams. McVay and Snead need to turn the tables on that shit.
Stafford led the team on the go ahead TD drive in the 4th. Next time the Rams had the ball McVay called 3 running plays.
Stafford did not blow the game. He put the defense in prime position to shut the door, despite horrific offensive line play all day long I might add.
Sorry I'm not buying your "but what about Goff" scenario.
Stafford wasn't the primary reason for the loss but a game ending turnover is a game ending turnover. Especially an avoidable turnover, not a failed last second hail Mary. And I don't care who the QB is.
I have no problem blaming the D for doing their part and shitting the bed, but McVay deserves blame for not being more agressive. Go down swinging dammit. As to the end of the 1st half, I can't comment on that as I wasn't able to see that sequence thanks to being at work. I saw mostly snippets and then the 4th quarter plus OT cuz I was finally off.Yeah but if Jimmy G is put into that situation 10 times vs this D, how many times does the drive end in a TD? Twice? Three times?
I’m more angry with the play call at the end of the first half honestly.
Which is why McVay was probably not wrong to sit on the ball 3 times. Defense just crapped the bed.
No you can’t because McVay sat on the ball and ran 3 straight running plays in 13 personnel. That’s not on “the offense”.The defense created a stop and put the offense in prime position to shut the door, despite horrific defensive line play all 2nd half I might add.
See? I can play that too.
Well he threw it from his own 30 (LOS was the 38) and it was intercepted at the 23, so the ball only went 47 yards in the air. I have seen him throw it 60+ several times this season. But I don't believe Stafford couldn't have thrown it another 5-7 yards which would have been a TD. At worst it would have been an incompletion. Assume Stafford misread what Beckham might do.
Throwing it to where the receiver has to come back to get it when's he beaten the defender deep is not a good decision. Then again Stafford's had a lot of under thrown deep balls this season.
That was exactly the criticism I had of Pete Carroll when he sent Marshawn Lynch out in motion away from the play to set up a Super Bowl losing pass interception. My biggest gripe is showing your hand in that situation. I hated the play call once I saw Sony clear out because it was an obvious pass play on a down you needed one yard. He eliminated the threat of a run or even a play action pass by going empty. Furthermore, going empty in that situation has worked out disastrously for Stafford in recent history; he drew up a potential Stafford pick 6 with that play call. I hate to use the analogy but a Madden player would immediately know what you’re trying to do if you called that in a game. McVay needs to be a smarter play caller sometimes. He’s making these bone headed calls more and more frequently.
9ers are in CA and have a huge fan base in L.A from the no NFL in L.A years. The national and regionally convenient teams will do well at SOFI. Especially since SOFI itself is an attraction, not to mention L.Awas the stadium in St. Louis ever this loud for the opposing teams side? Genuinely concerned that we may never have a home field advantage vs the Niners
How many times were we in that position?Guess how many times our defense gave up a game tying TD drive last year when the opposition had 88 yards to go, no timeouts and less than two minutes to play?
Well, we did go 12-5….that’s not badIt's the QB McVay fought for.
This is McVay's team. We can either be real about it, or we can keep making excuses for him.
How many times were we in that position?
You just please need to stop making things up to rationalize actual mistakes by our actual 2021 QB.Yeah Jared Goff with the 2021 Rams has 8-9 written all over it. 2017, 2018 Gurley was a top 3 offensive player in the league.
Stafford with prime Gurley, Kupp, Woods, Higbee, and Cooks?? Yeah that’s Super Bowl worthy.
Who is making things up?You just please need to stop making things up.
