I might be pissed and ranting but first can we stop with all the quick "let's protect Goff" crap it's happens enough on the field do we really need to do it off the field. Yes he is overly picked on but also yes he isn't a guy that can put a team on his shoulders even when the rest of the team sucks. He isn't in the upper tier top 5 or possibly even top 10.
Also mcvay constantly over thinks or is forced to adjust his coaching because of Goff.
That's why many times he plays it so close to the vest with Goff and we all are here predicting bubble screens handoffs etc.
Goff is a good qb I'd love to see him develop into that special qb but the word develop is getting old and unlikely. He is what he is at this point. Love McVey as well but he has terrible moments too.
I will say I do think McVey is closer to being an elite coach than Goff is to being an elite qb.
If McVey feels handcuffed in any way with Goff at any point in a game well then he isn't the qb we need him to be. Can't be scheming around him or not trusting him cause if you do, not only will other teams even shit ones exploit it but then your own players the rest of the team's loses confidence because they pretty much know we always need to be perfect and carry Goff because he can't carry us. That is a recipe for failure.
Not over reacting haven't given up hope. I however am calling out disturbing trends I see by both of them and if I step out of my rams goggles and this was another team I'd smell this a mile away however since it's the rams I keep closing my eyes to the obvious in hopes that the problem doesn't exist. It does exist.
