I might be pissed and ranting but first can we stop with all the quick "let's protect Goff" crap it's happens enough on the field do we really need to do it off the field. Yes he is overly picked on but also yes he isn't a guy that can put a team on his shoulders even when the rest of the team sucks. He isn't in the upper tier top 5 or possibly even top 10.
Also mcvay constantly over thinks or is forced to adjust his coaching because of Goff.
That's why many times he plays it so close to the vest with Goff and we all are here predicting bubble screens handoffs etc.

Goff is a good qb I'd love to see him develop into that special qb but the word develop is getting old and unlikely. He is what he is at this point. Love McVey as well but he has terrible moments too.
I will say I do think McVey is closer to being an elite coach than Goff is to being an elite qb.

If McVey feels handcuffed in any way with Goff at any point in a game well then he isn't the qb we need him to be. Can't be scheming around him or not trusting him cause if you do, not only will other teams even shit ones exploit it but then your own players the rest of the team's loses confidence because they pretty much know we always need to be perfect and carry Goff because he can't carry us. That is a recipe for failure.

Not over reacting haven't given up hope. I however am calling out disturbing trends I see by both of them and if I step out of my rams goggles and this was another team I'd smell this a mile away however since it's the rams I keep closing my eyes to the obvious in hopes that the problem doesn't exist. It does exist.

McVay just made history.

He followed up the dumbest call in NFL history with that 3rd-and 4 call with an even dumber call with the 4th and 4 call.

I wish we would've had 10 days to prepare for NYJ, not 7.

That’s fine. I don’t compare records or stats. I go by what I see. Goff can look elite at times but has games where he just looks lost

Why does it always seem like we play worse on long weeks?

We always better without preparation smh

I'll agree that Goff was abysmal in the first half, but the offensive line (the two Austin's in particular) did him no favors.

But those third and fourth down calls... was it McVay? Was it Goff? You Goff detractors can't have it both ways; seemingly every good throw is a McVay scheme and every horrible decision is a Goff lapse in judgment. The fuck? How does that work?

McVay and Goff are the purgatory combo. Good, but not great. You want to move on but can't because there are not any realistic better options available, and you will win too many games with them to ever draft superstars. Only if the stars align - which they might once or twice - can they take you to a superbowl. We are the Atlanta Falcons, albeit with a different style of roster.

So our offense can't beat a zone defense with gap penetrating defensive linemen.

There is a joke in there somewhere.

The superbowl was a loss against arguably the greatest head coach/QB combination of this generation. This loss was against a guy who will probably never again hold a head coaching position in the NFL, a QB that everyone is casting off on his rookie contract, and a defensive coordinator they promoted after firing their full-time one. This was a complete embarrassment, I don’t give a shit what anyone says.

Btw I'm now convinced more than ever I want Goff as our qb next year to see where we go but I want Sam Darnold on this team and no not because he was decent today but because that opportunity will not present itself and I believe he has all the tools and has legs he avoided Donald all day. He does have fire and he has faced a tremendous amount of adversity so his career could benefit from that greatly with good coaching weapons etc.

Unless the rams want to sign Dak lol;-)

I’m embarrassed for the fans and this website by the play on the field today.

Apathetic about being a fan right now. This is at best a first round playoff loss to another undeserving team.

If the price is right I would NOT object to bringing Darnold in as the backup QB but that’s wishful thinking. Goff needs someone, something, to light a fire under his ass. Trading him isn’t an option right now unless the Eagles find someone for Wentz and the Rams offer a better incentive for taking Goff.
