I just looked at the 4th and 4 play on the All 22 and the guy that Goff should have gone to

Not everett
Not kupp underneath

But Woods was breaking free before Goff threw the ball and no one was covering him.

He would have gotten to the 15 yard line before getting tackled by the safety if not a TD

And none of us would have had a problem with the play if it went incomplete for whatever reason because it was a 15 yard pass at most. Of course you can always bitch that Goff missed a completely wide open receiver but that's another story. And one thing we can usually agree on - Goff is usually accurate on wide open players.

The pass is dictated by the coverage and read. Doesn't matter if the third or fourth read comes open. The key design of that play was a high-low concept to exploit a smaller LB with worse speed covering Everett (which they probably saw in the booth). If the LB stays in coverage and the safety moves to cover the 3rd and 4th read, the ball goes in the air. If the safety picks up Everett with the LB, the ball goes to Kupp if he's open, otherwise the 3rd and 4th read.

I also disagree that Woods was open. He was passed off to the safety. That's what dictated the throw to Everett. At 40+ yards that ball takes 4 seconds to arrive. Anyone over the top is going to have a shot at it.

I blame Goff’s in accuracies and bad plays on this

Yes but the difference is against the Chiefs Everett had his man beat-in this instance he was covered like a blanket. Goff could of went through his progressions-I’m sure the pressure he was getting the whole game forced him to pull the trigger early but I know you know football and if you are being honest with yourself you know damn well that the better QBs in the league are not losing the game in that situation.

Sorry, but being at home, on the 40 yard line with 2 cracks to pick up 4 yards against an 0-13 team and you are the QB getting paid what you are getting paid you can’t lose that game. You just can’t. You can preach till the cows come home about it being a tram game but those moments are made for the guys making the most money on the field-period. They are supposed to make the big play at that time and he didn’t. And don’t take this as me being a Goff basher because I’m not-I like him but I’m starting to realize that he’s a good QB but due to consistency issues may never be great.
This is what you said. So explain how you're not blaming the loss on him again?

17 point to the jets who are the 32nd ranked offense is not good...at all. Especially considering what they did to the Patriots the week before.

if you gave up 17 ppg that would be the #1 scoring defense in the nfl.. so yeah i dont agree. The defense was not great yesterday.. but with a competent offense against the 31st pass defense in the nfl it should have been more than enough.

The more I think on it, feels like the whole team completely overlooked the Jets.

Kind of like when my Hawkeyes beat Ohio State 55 to something and just whooped there ass, and a few years later Urban Meyer admits they didn't even look at film of Iowa, were looking to the week after.

Has the same feeling, these boys didn't even care which pisses me off. Wish we'd see more fire out of them.

Also, not to beat the Goff drum, but it still pisses me off when they did a cut to him and I believe O'connell on the sidelines and O'connell was drawing/showing Goff something on the iPad and Goff didn't even look down or pay attention to it. Now, I'm sure it's coincidence and I'm sure Goff engaged with him after they cut away but it still pisses me off. Show some interest in being coached.

I mean idk. What I do know is we win a lot more often than we lose with McVay at the helm. If anything I feel like more often than not the rams make adjustments at the half and play better in the second half. I don’t know that I’d necessarily say he has difficulty with it because I think games where our team is flat out out-schemed are outliers rather than the norm.

it’s almost like we forget McVay was the youngest head coach ever and still only 34 years old in his 4th season as a head coach. Which I think is a testament to how good he has been that we look at any small mistake as a monumental flaw because he has been so astoundingly good.

idk if I answered your question or not lol
Hey, it’s a nuanced thing that applies to only a few games.

Miami...I don’t think that he adjusted

this game...Super Bowl...’18 Bears

it only happens a few times...he’s a great coach

has a clunker once in a blue moon and this was one.

I must admit, I was pretty upset yesterday. Still getting over it today. One good thing about this team... they never give up. No matter how much they are behind, they always make a game out of it. Unfortunately, when you do that, you're gonna lose a few at the end. And that is exactly what happened yesterday. So in the playoffs, if the Rams start out slow on offense or defense, rest assured Ram fans, that this team will come back and make it a close game. JMHO.

We'll agree to disagree. No excuse not to completely shut down a offense who only averages 15 ppg when you're the " #1 defense"

I'm in the same boat. Although I told my friends the last 2 weeks that I almost guarantee the Rams lose, but I was still surprised.

I never thought they would lose to a team I figured had packed it in for the year. Especially as important it was for the Rams.
The roles were reversed the way it looked. Can’t let it ruin my Christmas. I believe I get more upset for my son and grandson who watch every game with me.
They can still win Pappy makes me feel better when I hear it. Although I know there’s little chance.

Need them to come back to win though. 0-3 on starting comebacks and not being able to finish them.
