My last vent post, and Im moving on.
The offense should have put at least 30 on them, so shame on the offense for that. On the other hand, there's no way that offense should be scoring more than 10 points on this D.
I hope McVay is our coach for the next 20 years, but dayum, thats the 4th game this year where the team just looked completely out of it, totally unprepared. I had thought the travel was the culprit in the previous games but that excuse wont fly

Ok,

We're on to Cincinnati

Between the Jets being out of the Lawrence sweepstakes and people’s Survivor pools the only friends the Rams have after this weekend are Jacksonville fans.

But in all seriousness outside of KC there is no consistency in the NFL this year. I chalk it up to Covid and no one really having a legit home field advantage. With the way things have gone this year I expect us to bounce back big time.

On that note...perhaps it's been discussed somewhere else...but FOX kept showing Joe Berry and captioning it with Brandon Staley...perhaps Joe was calling the defense yesterday....that would certainly explain a lot....that and watching some dude named Rivers failing to keep contain on the edge...we need Lewis to get and STAY healthy...

.

that's strange, i try to dream of hot naked women sitting on my face. at least that's the last thing i'm thinking about before i lose consciousness.

.
What you try to dream about and what you actually dream about are often very different things.

Try to dream about: naked women sitting on your face.

Actually dream about: your favourite team shitting on your holiday spirit.

Oh wait, the last one wasn't a dream!!!!

...Using a team stat like wins to talk Goff up, but then ignoring all the individual passing stats makes no sense at all. Goff is the definition of an average QB.
Unfortunately, truer words have never been written. I have been pulling for Goff since we drafted him, and will continue to as long as he wears the Rams uni.

But the plain fact is, I knew he was in backwards Goff mode (Fog) after the first series. Jets stack the right side and the middle of field is WIDE open. Could have driven a wide load house through it. He could have run 20 yards past the line to gain. Instead he turns and tries to throw into tight coverage over linemen, one of whom tips it. I immediately said "Uh oh. Gonna be a long day for FFog."

Even then, I thought we'd beat the Jets. You have to be a BELOW average QB to not to beat that team. Hawks just beat them 40-3 last week in case you weren't paying attention.

Oh stop

I have already gone over the first 6 series where only 1 was on Goff

The other 5 were due to poor play calls, horrible offensive line play on pass plays (mostly by Blythe), poor OL blocking on run plays and drops by receivers.

Goff was put in a 3rd and long all day in the first half due to these issues and almost made first downs on a few of them.

And then in the second half - Goff did a TD TD field goal and then the 3rd and 4th down plays with 4 yards to go. Yes they could be on Goff but they could also be on McVay for calling these plays in the first place.

Maybe he should have checked down but Everett had a step on his guy and Goff thought he could make that pass. As I said before, in 2018 he makes that pass. Not sure why his long passes have not been as accurate this year. He definitely needs to work on that in the offseason.

Honestly wasn't even mad, I was just laughing at this tragicomedy of a loss.

Oh well, beat the shitchickens and Cards to call it an 11-5 season.

I had a bad feeling about this one for about two weeks now, especially when the Jets kept losing and were playing better. I somehow knew this was likely to happen to us. We always seem to play like shit with extra time off. It's frustrating when you know you are a lot better than your opponent and still find a way to lose, especially when you blow a chance at the end of the game. But that has become classic McVay in that he seems to outsmart himself. Going deep twice at the end of the game needing 4 yds for a first is exactly that. McVay thinking the whole world is expecting a run or short pass so he goes over the top, TWICE! And perfect throws maybe get it done there but counting on a rookie RB and a basically backup TE to pull it off is again McVay trying to do the unexpected. And it was but with expected results given the probabilities. Woods and Kupp, both great in those situations I guess was too obvious to try and work? Boy genius just needs to go with the odds a little more often. I'd just as soon he fake the FG in that situation or even let Gay have a shot since he had done nothing but nail kicks all day and most right down the middle and straight as an arrow. He's more than likely going to have to trust him from that distance in the playoffs at some point anyways. AND, I don't really want to rehash the TO wasting again but DAMN! How do you come out of a TO on the field and have to burn one yourself? That crap is maddening. After all this venting, we do have to realize all our disdain is with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight and the Ram's coaching staff knows their opponents a tad better than we do from the couch so............... I'll try not to whine too much about the timing of the flags on us but, again, DAMN! With all this said, I think you'll see a different Rams next week in Seattle. We throttle them and take 1st place back again. Now that's not to say we don't give it back the next week against the Cards because, well, that's just what we like to do this year. GO RAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear ya. I was pissed the god damn Raiders eeked out that win against them. Fuck. Hate this shit where I have to avoid the media for a fucking week. And even then, we're the fucking "1" in their shitty ass record. FUCK. FUCK.

Gonna take a hiatus from anything Rams or NFL until next Sunday morning. Not worth getting upset over during Christmas week and the happiness it brings. I recommend most of you do the same and find joy in other areas of your life. We don’t get paid for this

That is great advice for anyone that needs to decompress from a loss. Seriously.

I will be here with BELLS ON; Losing sucks, But...
  1. It is a game. They lost the game, I didn’t. lol.
  2. Rams are right in the playoff mix.
  3. Since 2017, we’ve had a lot of fun watching the Rams. This is what we’ve always wanted, soaking up the fun part of that!
  4. It’s Christmas break, nothing like looking forward to Seattle all week. Sounds fun to me.
  5. Win next Sunday... we can flip the script and point to this Jet’s loss as the trigger to our successful SB run. Why not think that way right now? It could happen. Stories are yet to be written on this season.

I noticed that too. What was that about? I actually never saw Staley on the sideline, but I wasn’t exactly looking until the end when they kept doing this.

Anyone see Staley on the sideline?

I noticed this too. I was getting pissed that they couldn't get it right. The announcers screwed up a couple other things too. Not there best game either.

McVay needs to be OC or HC but obviously can't be both. During the game he reminds me of Mike Martz, from his helter-skelter play calling to his mismanagement of timeouts.

In McVays defense.. his time management during the game has always been poor.

42-20 he’s doing something right. Plus we have an offensive coordinator his name is Kevin O‘Connell

This game performance fails squarely on the coaches shoulders especially, McVay! This team was not ready to play and I don't care what anyone says that is on the coaches. This year after watching the first series of the games, on offense and defense, I have been able to predict with a 100% accuracy which games the Rams would end up losing. I actually quit watching this game after the Jets scored their first touchdown.
