This team when on, can beat anybody. And... I guarantee nobody wants the Rams round 1 because of that.

But, can we play 4 consecutive playoff games at our best? That’s the worry.

The Rams just need to start games moving Goff and the pocket around. At the least... that generates a safer pocket for Goff to operate, throw the ball away when the play isn’t there, etc. Live another day.

It is very frustrating to watch us give away possessions, THEN start doing this. It seems every game we struggle, we wait too long.

Rough when going for a three game win streak this year:

Bills - team doesn't show up for first 35 minutes

Niners - team doesn't show up for Sunday Night Football

Niners - loss to Mullens

Jets

Interestingly, these are probably the four worst defensive performances this year

When McVay was first hired he got rid of some obvious underperformers and brought in real pros (Whit and Woods)

Most recently, WP was not offered a contract last year (and is still out of coaching) while Cooks was traded and Gurley let go.

If McVay sees an area that needs improvement (bid farewell to our 1st year special teams coach) he does not hesitate to makes changes.

Be interesting to see how he addresses the growing inconsistency from the QB position this offseason.

McVay tends to overthink things. When McVay has 10 days to overthink, well...there you go. We lose.

Short prep time last Thursday night game against the Pats and we win. McVay is his own worst enemy. I think the team picks up on that.

All first half, I kept saying to myself, why is McVay keeping Goff in the pocket when Blythe clearly can't block anyone today?

Where are the occasional roll outs (note I said occasional)?

Where are the Jets Sweep - one yesterday that went for over 30 yards?

Where is the hurry up offense to change the flow of the game?

I am truly sorry you are wrong about this.

I would be happy w above average.
You Mach and a couple others truly have unrealistic expectations for a QB.

I have seen Wilson not make a 4th and short play against the Rams.

Yes this was the Jets but Goff in 2018 makes that throw to Everett. He expects himself to be able to make that throw. However, this year Goff is having issues with his deep ball accuracy which I hope to hell he works on during the offseason because that would put him in the almost elite range.

He took over the Cardinal game and almost single-handedly won that game. Give him his credit.

I actually expected this. Why? Well this was the first week the Rams started getting some props in the media. This always scares me. It takes me back to the Fisher era when the Rams always started out as "The team to beat." "Watch out for the Rams." "Nobody wants to play the Rams." Then we would implode. This team when on can beat anyone. I believe that. For a great team beating bad teams should be a gimme. Beating good teams should look easy and playing other great teams you have to leave it all on the field. We just aren't there yet. But we still look sweet when all cylinders are firing.

Long story short, again..

This team only goes as far as Goff takes us. If he plays good, we play good, if he plays bad, we play bad. He had a few nice throws but also quite a few bad and one that should've been a 2nd interception.

For him to succeed, EVERYTHING needs to be PERFECT. He's not going to make something from nothing.

Feel for Akers, 2 nice runs including a TD called back via penalty. Still think he's our best option.

ILB let us down. We knew they wouldn't continue playing out of their ass.

I'm done with the GE81 experiment. He's a half-asser too often.

Put in Mundt with Higbee and run the 12 personel the whole damn game.

Let me preface what I’m about to say by saying I know our defense is better than our offense this year. We are meant to be a defensive team that runs the ball and sets up play action off the run.

that being said our defense certainly could have won us yesterday’s game. Our offense got going to end the half yesterday and drove and put points on the board. To start the half we allowed an 11 play drive that took 7 minutes off the clock and ended in a touch down. Our offense responded again and scored a td. The d again allowed a 10 play drive that ended in points and was deflating to our team. Offense responded with another td drive and the D held and got us the ball back. But again after the offense faltered and we needed the d to get the ball back they couldn’t stop the Jets again and they ran out the clock. Against the 9ers Goff and the O played terribly but we had the lead in the 4th quarter and chance to win and they allowed the 9ers 3rd string qb to drive the length of the field twice to win the game. These are some bad teams and offenses that are driving the field and eating clock in huge moments of the game against the supposed number 1 defense in the NFL. It’s obviously easy to say yeah but if Goff didn’t throw that int or if the offense did more but if the strength of our team is our D (and it is #1 ranked) this shouldn’t be happening.

Reeder had some terrible plays yesterday.

The one that upset me the most was when he had Gore stopped behind the line and completely flailed the tackle on 3rd and 3.

Even if he just slows down Gore, that stops Gore from making a first down.

A perfect example of an OLE' tackle.

It is what it is...

I like Goff. He seems like a chilled dude, nice guy etc..........and I don't think he is that bad of a QB. On his day he can be thrilling to watch, and is capable of beating most teams. I just feel for us to ever win a SB with him, we would need a top 3 O-Line, a top 5 Defense, a top 5 running game, a plethora of talented WR's/TE's and a sprinkling of good fortune chucked in as well.

I would prefer to have a QB that could do more with less, but it is what it is - he is our QB for the foreseeable future, and we have to ride with him.

I looked at the first 6 series where we punted, punt blocked or interception and the only thing that was on Goff was the interception.

He didn't play that bad when not getting hit in the first 6 series except for the interception which was a horrible horrible pass.

People are really overreacting to Goffs play based on the bad interception, the bad pass to Everett which was tipped and caught by Everett and the underthrow to Everett.

So he had 3 bad passes and maybe a bad decision to go to Akers on 3rd & 4 when Akers was clearly covered.

Series 1

3rd & 2 - Goff gets hit as Blythe ole's his block

Series 2

3rd & 11 after a holding and two runs - Goff scrambles for 9 yards

Series 3

Goff sacked after Blythe ole's another block and then a 5 yard penalty

Then a short WR screen pass to Woods for no gain - bad play call

3rd & 23 - Brown up the middle for 5 yards

Series 4

This was the interception series - terrible terrible play

However he did make a nice 3rd and 15 throw after another ole sack caused by Blythe

Series 5

2nd & 12 after a 2 yard loss

5 yard pass

3rd & 7

Goff throws it away to avoid rush and dumps it at Jefferson's feet - he was not open

Series 6

Two drops - one by Akers that could have gone for over 20 yards when they were at the opposing team 45 yard line and one by Everett.

Could have at least gotten a field goal try on that drive if Everett catches that ball

I remember that vividly. I don't even think he got juked, looks like the dude just fell over.

Gonna take a hiatus from anything Rams or NFL until next Sunday morning. Not worth getting upset over during Christmas week and the happiness it brings. I recommend most of you do the same and find joy in other areas of your life. We don’t get paid for this

Urgent needs to be addressed in the offseason

1) STUD Center. We need someone who can stand up the NTs of the league.

2) Burner WR. We need someone who runs in the 4.3 range or faster to take the Safety and maybe a DB with him

3) STUD ILB who can cover, tackle and remain healthy. Honestly in this defense, a James Laurinitis type would be fine. Don't need a thumper, but someone who can cover and tackle. I'd prefer a London Fletcher type, but I'll settle. We just need someone who isn't a liability. Sorry, but while it was Young making the misread on the TD, how many times did Reeder NOT make the play. Him making the goal line pass defense near the end of the game doesn't change how many plays he left on the field.
