Ah, the old YAC reference to only bash the quarterbacks you don't like. Alvin Kamara is clearly carrying Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers is so overrated, Devante Adams is one of the greatest receivers in the league; because he leads the league in Yards after catch. You guys are so beyond frustrated you don't even use logic or context anymore. Nobody is denying the fact this dude gets happy feet in the pocket under pressure. But how did he get there? Did he just put the pressure on himself? How about the fact that his line is barely inside the top ten because they are very spotty in pass protection at times? Is that Goff's fault too? Should we only pay attention to the awful interception he had, and not the passes where he threw some guys open?
The entire offense is inconsistent. We can agree Goff doesn't make those better around him but few quarterbacks do. But when guys are dropping catchable balls, and pass protection is inconsistent; guess what you get? Inconsistent play at quarterback. We have been this way since last year, and despite this; we are still finding ways to score. We are dealing with inconsistency from all angles at the moment, and the easiest person to blame is Goff. That's why so many people come to his defense. Because you guys offer anger but zero solutions that make sense. And by the way, those short passes are by design. We don't have the line for routes to develop on a consistent basis. Nor do we have a receiver with the speed to take the top off of a defense.
Goff is above average because he boasts more wins than losses. Goff is above average because although he doesn't post gaudy touchdown numbers, we often rely on his high yardage to put us in the red zone for running plays. Goff is above average because he's been to a Super Bowl. And most of all, Goff is above average because he's outlasted most quarterbacks that came in before or with him. In the even Sean McVay decides to get rid of him, then I'll jump ship. But for now I'm going to trust the head coach, and his guy. And his guy is Goff.
