I still remember the game back in the 90s where Dallas was 13-1 or so and we were 1 and 13 and we went and beat the Cowboys

Shit happens.

I was giving the Dallas Cowboy fan in my office shit about that game for an entire year lol.

Good thing there isn't a Jet fan in my office.

Notes - Blythe was terrible this game. Goff didn't have a chance in this game until McVay finally started calling roll outs and a jet sweep in the second half.

Goff played well for the most part except for that horrible int and the pass that Everett caught after it was tipped and the last pass to Everett.

All really bad passes.

That pass to Everett at the end could easily have been a good play if Goff just threw it a half yard farther.

Yes he should have gone to Kupp on that play but Everett was open and Goff thought for sure he could get it there.

As others have said, his long passes this year have been somewhat off the mark. In 2018, that would have been a TD.

.

man that call on higbee for a push in the back was fucking bullshit. i hate the nfl so much.

every time akers made a good run they called it back for a penalty. fucking cocks.

.
There were quite a few calls by the refs that I said to my wife - if only they called those same penalties when Donald is held the same way

Our ILBs are putrid in coverage and AD needs to be more unselfish not trying to make splash plays instead of playing his keys and not going upfield too fast leaving gaping running lanes for running backs to exploit and for the QB to step up in. Run heavy and play action teams that pass heavily to their backs and tight ends in the playoffs will destroy us (Saints, Chiefs, Colts, Bucs, Cards-if Murray is healthy, Seattle). One and done most likely

The occasional play where they blow by AD is worth all the plays he makes.

Remember the 2011 team against the aints? The 0-6 Rams going against the 5-2 aints

Shit like this happens, whatever. Just a couple weeks ago it was the Giants and a backup QB over the shitbirds.

I want so bad for Goff to be an elite QB. But if anyone thinks he is more than an average QB at best should not watch football
I am not saying Goff is an elite QB but he is better than average.

Was it in 95' that the Cowboys destroyed everybody and won the SB and we beat them pretty handedly?

We still got this but it happens unfortunately.
Yes I just said it a couple posts ago. Shit happens

No I just have reading comprehension and understand what "But we got the coverage and looks we were looking for there" means. It means we called the correct play versus the defense we were expecting. The QB is who makes the decision on which WR gets the ball FYI.

But keep blaming McVay if it makes you feel better.
All you have to do to get McVay to call the play you want, is give them the “look”...of course they have you the long ball, we just needed 4 yards.....4 yards

So he had everett deep or cupp underneath there.. we don;t know if cupp was open or not however.
I looked at it and Kupp was open right at the first down line but there was a DB coming in fast. Goff would have had to throw it low to get a completion there or it would have been knocked away probably. And if it was thrown low, Kupp may have been a foot short of the first down.

This is an all-time bad loss for the franchise. You have an extra long week to prepare for the worst team in the league thats flying across the entire country to play in your brand new home stadium with a playoff game on the line.... and you get completely smoked...

This team is now the joke of the league. Defend Goff all you want but he is an average to below average QB that reminds me of a deer in headlights.

Ok, Im done venting. Lets move on to the flying cocks... I mean seattle...:cautious:

Not according to any PPF or other sports metric he doesn't...he's presently just below half way @17th, on other lists he's maybe 15th or 16th.....that's about as average as it gets.

Meh... I’m over it now.

Kinda glad we got a shocking awakening today!

it’ll either make our players realize you don’t just show up and expect a team to lay down and die and to grasp the rest of this season by the horns.

On plenty of those SB winning teams on America’s game that is a theme repeated over and over, that a loss shock them up and reunited and refocused them to the task at hand.

On to win this fucking division against those pretender rainy city bitch pigeons.

He's also an over paid average QB, but this team makes a habit of over paying players well before it becomes necessary or even prudent. For example, the immaculate duo of Goff & Gurley, now that's a pair to draw to and go broke from.....then there was Bradford....good grief. :zany:

Those metrics suck. They don't take into any non statistical factors into play.

He is a better than average QB.

Lets see:

Worse than

Maholmes - better
Josh Allen - better this year - has surprised me with his improvement
Rodgers - better
Wilson - better

As good as - maybe even better right now

Watson - he might be better but is on a terrible team so don't really know
Jackson - great running back - terrible passer - if the receiver isn't open by more than 5 yards - incomplete more often than not - he is going to get hurt
Brees - Old - can't throw further than 10 yards - not better
Brady - getting old - can't throw the ball further than 20 yards - not better than Goff this year
Dak Prescott - sorry not better
Rothlisberger - dump off man - not better
Tannehil - has great running back - not better
Mayfield - not better
Hebert - jury is still out on him
Burrow - jury is still out on him
Stafford - not a winner but decent QB but rather have Goff than him
Ryan - decent player but on a terrible team and seems to choke - rather have Goff than him
Tua - jury is still out on him but not that impressed

Better

Rivers - old - not better - wins because of great defense
Darnold - really? that organization has screwed him
Murray - if he can't run - he sucks - ask my brother who is a Cardinal fan
Jones - terrible QB
Wentz - ha
Bridgewater - he sucks
Lock - he sucks
Carr - he sucks
Cousins - not a winner
Newton - pfft
Grabhisass - funny if you think him better
Haskins - chuckles if anyone thinks he is better
Minshew or whoever is starting at Jacksonville - yeah right
Trubinsky - enough said

So - to sum up - only 4 QBs that are definitely better than Goff right now with about 13 QBs that you could put any QB anywhere from 5 to 18 and I couldn't argue for or against. Still - better than average because I would want Goff over any of them
