According to that quote Goff threw the route exactly as designed. If Akers or Everett are in one-on-one coverage against a LB, the ball should be in the air to them. That's exactly what happened.

Both the block in the back and the hold that erased our TD were stupid fucking calls. They haven't been calling those holds all year. And Higbee pushed Maye as much from the side as the back. It was stupid of Higbee to do that, but this fucking ref crew can fuck off. They constantly inserted themselves into the game was stupid fucking penalties.

I never felt that the Jets would get Trevor Lawrence and they aren't.

This feels like a favor to Khan for his journey as an owner.

I get that but we made it to the big dance. 30 other NFL teams didn’t. As bad as our performance was that game I was glad we made it there and it gave us a lot of things to be optimistic about going forward. Today? What do we have to be optimistic about? Mcvay is such a fucking mystery with his play calling and I can’t figure it why ... the guy gets into his own head way to much

Goff had a shit first half and a decent second half ...

We are what we are inconsistent and undisciplined and frankly I think that game may have been a dampener on the Staley for the next big HC job ... but credit to the jets there are coaches there playing for their jobs an interim DC and far old playing for his job (be out at teh nets or elsewhere )

The game was lost for a myriad of reasons.. most of them self inflicted.

Staley got clearly outcoached by Gase..did you watch the game? Why even ask that question.

And I dont think McVay called a bad game at all, I think the OL struggled big time early. Goff threw a bad INT, and then after the early sacks he had happy feet for the rest of the game when pressure was near. But none of that really matters because he had a chance to win the game late. But didnt. McVay explained there were MULTIPLE options on both of those pass plays. So people blaming McVay like Akers and Everett were the only options need to wake up.

McVay still has a lot to learn. Impressive record but he has zero feel for the game.. you have two of the most sure handed WRs in the league and you go deep two plays in a row when you need 4 yards LMAO. Two of the worst calls I’ve ever seen. First of all.. have Akers cut outside for 5 yards instead of throwing a fucking wheel route. Second, if you know your going for it.. 3rd and 4 should of been a run play. Akers was running well AGAIN. Kids a stud

All that being said, we win out and the divisions ours but we looked like frauds today

3rd and 4: "We had SOME LOOKS" that means plural people. Goff chose the deep route to Akers.
4th and 4: " Cooper on an underneath route" Goff chose to go deep to Everett

Thats twice in close games the defense couldn't get off the field.

This is something that needs to be practiced. A soft zone with everyone playing 10 years off isn't perhaps the best alignment for these situations. Our defense has been good - but this is not the first time our defense failed in the end.

Well, the coaches dont stop coaching and the players dont stop playing, and there is no way anybody in a Jet uniform wanted to be part of an 0-16 team.
Now, the Jets do suck, but they have a lot more talent than they get credit for

LOL do you understand what that even means? I'm assuming you dont know football very well so I'll help explain...

That quote means he called the correct plays BASED ON THE COVERAGE they were expecting. They got exactly the looks they wanted. Does that mean Akers and Everett were the only options on those routes? Not at all. It means the pass concepts he called were perfect to beat that defense, we either chose the wrong receiving option, or didn't execute.

Which is exactly why McVay cant be blamed on these two plays. He made the correct calls to beat those looks, the players just didn't deliver.
