Rams lost this game on two plays. Stafford’s picks allowed Ten to play their game and the Rams still had opportunities to come back but were stalled by the refs or poor plays.

Mark my words. Our defense will be very good over second half. Rams need better balance on offense and more creativity on the play calling. Empty backfield
In Quarter 1? No.

The worst penalty game, pass blocking game and McVay being slow to adjust game of the season. Oh, Stafford sucked today.
Tenn is a tough, hard to adjust to team, we lost.
Move on, must beat Whiners.

Watching our Finesse Offense get man handled by a Physical Defense is too similar to SB 36 and 53 for me.
Bingo. Not much else to say. Common denominator of the McVay era... I knew this would be our toughest game. We struggle to beat talented, physical teams. They just manhandle us a lot. Thats what has happened against SF in recent times. Happened in the SB.

Whatever...hopefully we learn from it. A lot of NFC teams lost today so we should be okay. We just need to make the playoffs and focus on getting better. But man I haven't seen an OL performance like that since 2019. It was fucking horrendous.

So, anyway. Not sure if anyone notice our defense really only gave up 14 points. The other 14 point are all on the offense.

Just searching for some bright spots for the future!
Probably a face mask and roughing the QB call from a shut out

When we were 4-1, we'd beaten 4 playoff teams from last year, so this idea that we've only beaten bums is just bullshit.

Our only losses are unfortunately at home, but to AZ and TN.

Bottom line is that short of a collapse of the Cards, we're at the 5 seed and we just need to stay healthy and prep for a deep playoff run on the road... since playing at home doesn't seem to be as much of an advantage as was thought.

But yeah, if we had to shit the bed, I'd rather it'd be against an AFC team. Sucks it's a common game with AZ, but we're not gonna win the division now, anyway, so it's really not a game that's gonna mean much other than be a lesson in what not do do.
Talk about BS ? The division is still right in front of The Rams.I’m not making any predictions, but one game at a time is more realistic.Looking a head to Monday Night now is the Biggest game.

If the Rams can go 14-3 or even 13-4, we've got a chance to win the division. We'll have to beat the cards or course, but the cards might have the same issues the Rams have a blow a few games.

Heck, if not for allowing the cards to convert 3-4 3rd and forever situations, we probably beat them the first time as well.

Weird play calling by McVay, and weird decision making by Stafford.
Looked like a team that believed their own hype. Saw this loss coming all week.

Stafford is good, but still in both losses he needs to play better.
Drew Brees said at halftime less turnovers.Tony Dungy was laughing.DJ1 was wide open against
Arizona for a easy TD.

Okay, I said it in the other thread. The Rams still control their future because they play GB and AZ still. Win out and they will have the division.

That said it wasn't Morris that let this team down. Sloppy play on both sides of the ball, and a series of bad calls. I'm sorry but the Rams were robbed of that TD. The rules are very clear that it has to be indisputable evidence to overturn a call. There was green outside of Higbee's shoes. The roughing calls were totally bogus.

The main thing I took away from this was exactly what I've been saying all along. The only team that can beat the Rams are themselves. They were undisciplined and simply didn't execute. They were not ready to play and took TN lightly. Morris called a decent game though I'm not sold on his passive zone style and in the long run it's a loser.

Seriously, how many on this board expected them to go undefeated? 7-2 still leaves them in the hunt with control of their own destiny. This team is going to make the playoffs one way or another and they will be very dangerous in the playoffs. In a way, this was as good of a time for a wake-up call.

We also, all saw exactly why they traded for MIller. IMO if they had Miller starting and playing to his early-season form, the Rams pass rush will be elite.

I'm angry but not woeful. This was a slap in the face that McVay needed. He and his staff got completely outcoached. He had no answers on how to stop the bleeding and turn things around. Too much reliance upon the quick deep strike. Not enough balance between the possession throws and the deep throws. He needs to coach up Stafford to take what is given. Quit trying to force what might not be there. That deep throw to Jefferson was forced into double coverage. Which was exactly what he criticized Goff for doing. He needs to do more layering, and modify Staffords progression. He kept holding the ball too long waiting for the deep throw to open. March down the field with throws in the 5-15 yd range and running the ball. Force them to abandon their deep shells. Then you go over the top once you've set them up. McVay's offense is too much about low percentage throws. Take it if it's there but otherwise make sure there are shorter options and tell Stafford to take what is given.

worthless was at it again. when the rams blitzed in the 2nd half they were showing the play again and as soon as he said the rams were like screw it we're bringing pressure the head on replay showed williams standing still behind the sticks and the titans wr simply running hard then stopping and turning around to catch the ball for a 1st down. what's the point of blitzing if you give the qb such an easy throw for a 1st down. it was 3rd and 10+.

i swear i don't understand what the dc is thinking in those situations. i get it, you don't want to give up the big play but fuck me, put the db in a position to make a fucking stop. have some faith in your pass rush.

Well Stafford knows this. He said in the post presser that he should of taken what was there and guys were open.

He said he should of gotten the ball out and was looking down field too much.

He was trying to hit the big shot. It is a humbling lesson but you can't sick in the pocket all day against good defenses. This aint the Texans, Lions or Seattle.

He has been doing this a ton on 3rd down. Taking the big shot when its 3rd and short. It is so annoying and kills so many drives and I almost think Mcvay coached him that way to soften up the defense or something.

It will get corrected. Dynasty's have been built on dump offs. Super Bowls have been won by them. Stafford needs to be patient.

Take a few deep shots a game and maybe more vs the poor defenses, but it don't fly vs the Titans who have excellent rushers and defensive backs.

McVay refusing to bootleg in the first half and give the interior line some help was ridiculous. Like it was obvious you had to move the pocket a quarter in man. What took so long.

I hate these types of games because I always feel like I have seen it before. That means we are making some of the same mistakes year in and year out. Incredibly frustrating!
I didn't hear most of the stuff I'm hearing here when they were 7-1...Now at 7-2 they're all lazy, think they don't have to be prepared and a bunch of pussies...Lots of what's being said here is valid stuff...I would have everybody look at the scores of all the games yesterday...The Rams getting upset and beaten up was awful, but they were hardly the only team...

If Morris really has the run D squared away, even while missing SJD, then it bodes well for the playoffs.

I would like to never again see another empty backfield set.

I have faith in Stafford. I truly do. I think he can figure stuff out and how to play under pressure in big games. This game will be the first learning lesson. Against Zona he was just erratic with no pressure. Tonight was a different beast. WR's covered Simmons destroying the pocket. As Brees so pointedly said, when the Oline cant hold up and the WR's are covered, throw the ball away. A sack can be a drive killer vs a good defense and The interceptions were careless. It happens to the best, the very best. It was my point with Goff. Sometimes really good QB's don't play good football when the defense is on their game. Hell look at Mahomes. Did he just stop caring about football? No. He has an Oline in transition. Thing about Goff is he elevated his game vs the Saints when everything fell apart. Including Gurely. The elevation wasn't 80 yard bombs. The elevation was ball control and managing the game until he could choose his spots at the end and move the team in position for the tying FG and also the game winner.

Mcvay was too slow to adjust in this game as mentioned. It's a hard lesson for him and Stafford has some learning as well.

Got to be willing to throw balls away and let the defense carry you sometimes.
Stafford, like Wentz plays, "hero ball". Bad habit from being in Detroit and everything being on him. He has to learn to manage a game and understand his defense can help win a game or next drive he can comeback and make a play.

That was really bad last night because his miscues were the diff in the game.

He knows it. He mentioned as much last night. The hero ball stuff might take a little to break but I have faith we will start to win some of those types of games. Maybe next Monday vs the Niners in fact. If everything is covered and breaking down just throw it away or dump it down and rely on the defense.
