These damn refs.

Nothing was consistent.

Ball placement was gross.

Ticky Tack calls during a physical game... what bullshit.

Several calls that were so wrong that the broadcast crew all just said, "nope, that's clearly not a foul, but here's the next play".

I have no doubt that the Rams will have a very angry call to the league office and that will be prior to the letter where the refs get to act like cowards and admit well after the fact with zero recourse for the wronged that yeah, they fucked up.

I'm glad that this only costs one game. It was a terrible confluence of a completely incompetent refereeing crew, terrible miscues early by Stafford and just a weird day where the underdogs went 8-4 outright...

If nothing else, I hope this lights a fire under this team.

This kind of loss doesn't bother me.

I have complete faith in Stafford.

He lost us this game - literally.

Because I have faith in him, I don't think this will happen again and believe we would have won despite the horrific officiating and awful OL play if he just didn't make those two throws.

Plus I recall losing to the Titans in the regular season in 1999. Worked out okay

Stubborn McVay thinking he can ram his offense down anyone’s throat even when it’s not working. Too little too late.

It’s the repeat of the Super Bowl vs the Patriots. Outcoached by his own defense from last year. He’s gotta be more versatile on the fly.

So, anyway. Not sure if anyone notice our defense really only gave up 14 points. The other 14 point are all on the offense.

Just searching for some bright spots for the future!

Would have liked to have seen a bit more running. Henderson had 11 carries for 55 yards.
Quicker adjustment on moving the pocket.
WE are at fault for being in that hole but the BS call on AD was a back breaker.
You learn 3 times more about your flaws in a loss than a win.
Hopefully we take full advantage of correcting the flaws.

The thing the Titans do that reminded me most of our defense from last year.
They tackle very very well.
Kupp is a master at breaking tackles and making people miss. He is the king of RAC.
How many RAC yards did he get tonight? I am pretty sure it's the lowest amount
of any game he has played this year.
Hats off to the Titans. Best tackling team I have seen all year.

That's some Jeff Fisher football right there. The Rams looked OK against some bad teams and couldn't put together a full 60 minutes of domination on any of them.

Now we see what many knew was behind the hype, an ok football team that traded for Von because they know they aren't good enough to beat the best teams in the NFL this year.

McVay, jesus, this game brings back memories of New Orleans and the Bears......so stubborn! He just has to do it one way or nothing. Didn't the Patriots say he added nothing new for the Superbowl?

What week was it when the Bears figured us out and everyone started pounding us?
Let me know when a Fisher Ram team was 7-2

What drives me nuts the most today is how fucking lucky Arizona got. Every top NFC team lost and they win with a fucking back up.

That Von Miller trade doesn’t look good for now. We gave our futures away for a guy who bragged about owning the Browns only to see karma busted his ankles. And now the Rams got dominated by the Titans. Can we have Jared Goff and those draft picks back now?

Reality check. This team has played 3 top level teams thus far....all home games BTW.

They won 1 of those games. One!

So we need to slow the roll on hosting the SB and our MVP QB etc...

They have a lot to prove and can't blame everything on one guy anymore.

Nice thread title. :laugh4:

This is a really disappointing loss. Said in the pregame thread that a physical front can flip that script on you and just like we've seen so many times vs more physical teams that's exactly what happened. Basically it's one of those "expose you as a finesse team" type losses which are extra painful and it's why I complain all the time about us not ever looking for a fucking power element in the backfield.

It just annoys the fuck out of me that we don't have a RB who you can mash with. Bottom line is in the playoffs you always have a good chance of facing a strong defense and when that happens you gotta be able to simplify shit and build some momentum behind the run game. The worst thing about this game too, btw, is that the Titans can be had on the ground. Rams were running it well but just played into their gameplan it felt like.

Last but not least this is loss 2 for Stafford and both games he wasn't his usual self, i.e. could not overcome the slow start. He could have helped the line out by better feel of the rush and shit. Also he missed an open post early but seemed overly focused on the rush and even failed to get through reads. Definitely his worst game so far in horns by my eye. So not gonna make excuses for him but I will also say that this team basically goes through him now so if you refuse to run the ball and leave it in the hands of the pocket QB when the rush is in his face and disrupting him the end result is going to be less than what you want.

Yeah I feel like we're a better team on the road. Which is aggravating as hell lol.

Rams have some growing to do if they're gonna be last team standing. No doubt about it. Those delayed stunts better be a practice thing because you can bet SF is gonna bring them.

....and Miami although he escaped blame there.

He seems to struggle to adjust quickly. Even if Goff was the main culprit in Miami, you have to change things up. Same with the Jets last yr when Blythe was getting abused. And sane tonight when Edwards, Corbett & Allen struggled with Simmons & stunts.

While he is 42-0 when leading at half...or something like that. He is something like 8-20 when trailing. He doesn't adjust from his game plan when it is shutdown.

As Collingsworth stated, he wasted a whole quarter trying to continue doing what wasn't working in the first quarter.

Wasn't until the 3rd when he started rolling him out, going up tempo, trying to quicken everything up. Kind of like last yr with Goff. They couldn't throw from the pocket tonight, just like last yr, but he kept forcing the issue.

.

My takeaway from this game was this - bring some pressure up the middle and Stafford turned to mush.

We won three quarters of this game which is hard to believe … and stats look like we would have been the dominant team … lost the second quarter in a big way … three catastrophic plays in succession. That was on Stafford mostly but the O-Line also got smacked in the face.

Penalties played a huge part …. 12 - 4 … wasn’t our day , need to lick our wounds and come out firing against the whiners !!

Go RAMS!!

Seeing a lot of really weird (and inaccurate) defeatism here.

Yes, the team played like absolute garbage and I continue to have serious doubts about not only the level of coaching, but some of the personnel decisions. BUT....the fact of the matter is the team is in the exact same position they were in for literally every week of the season thus far:

They control their own destiny. Just like Arizona.

Fact is, if LA wins out, they win the division. If Arizona wins out, they win the division. Not saying either of them will, but this garbage about how "The Cardinals are running away with the division" is both foolish based just on W/L record (1 game difference with half a damn season to go), but also ignoring that, with slightly less room for error, the Rams are still in control of where they finish by virtue of the Ram's non-Cards loss being against an AFC opponent (keeping in mind LA has a chance to split the series there), and the Cards loss being against an NFC opponent.

Frankly, they've already done way better than I thought they would, but people need to stop with the hyperbole and go back to using 4th grade math.

I mean really, I don't know what's worse - not knowing the math, or implying that a team can't win with a backup quarterback against a mediocre team. If that was the case, teams would just forfeit when their starter got hurt. About the only thing I'm seeing in here that makes sense is venting about how this team shouldn't have spent all week acting like they had the Lombardi in the bag after they overspent on a guy who has a lot of name recognition but who's best years are CLEARLY behind him (just like Matthews and Weddle)

I have faith in Stafford. I truly do. I think he can figure stuff out and how to play under pressure in big games. This game will be the first learning lesson. Against Zona he was just erratic with no pressure. Tonight was a different beast. WR's covered Simmons destroying the pocket. As Brees so pointedly said, when the Oline cant hold up and the WR's are covered, throw the ball away. A sack can be a drive killer vs a good defense and The interceptions were careless. It happens to the best, the very best. It was my point with Goff. Sometimes really good QB's don't play good football when the defense is on their game. Hell look at Mahomes. Did he just stop caring about football? No. He has an Oline in transition. Thing about Goff is he elevated his game vs the Saints when everything fell apart. Including Gurely. The elevation wasn't 80 yard bombs. The elevation was ball control and managing the game until he could choose his spots at the end and move the team in position for the tying FG and also the game winner.

Mcvay was too slow to adjust in this game as mentioned. It's a hard lesson for him and Stafford has some learning as well.

Got to be willing to throw balls away and let the defense carry you sometimes.

Agreed. But as bad as the whiners have been, those f*cks always get the refs calls and have a good game plan against the Rams.

We need to beat the sh*t out of them next week.

Also, we play the Ravens later and the last time the Rams beat the Ravens, Kurt Warner was the QB.

Von Miller will be suited up next week. I think he'll be a difference maker.
