With nothing to back up my "theory", I believe that the rumors about the 9ers drafting Mac Jones were true, and that they changed their mind with all the bad press. Maybe Shanny wanted Jones and FO over ruled and went with Lance or vice versa. Either way if there's any truth to my W.A.G., the team will literally come apart at the seams if things dont pan out, and pan out quick.
Very interesting theory because I was hoping the 49ers would draft Mac Jones because IMO, he's ordinary, no Lance has some serious upside again IMO, but this is plausible because I do now with the speculation of the 49ers wanting to draft Mac Jones, many 49er faithful were against it and stipulated such over social media.
So it's possible ownership got involved and preferred the young phenom that was the better athlete now I still believe Lance will be an upper tier QB and I don't like to wish a player not to be successful, so I will just hope that he loses a ton of games for San Francisco.

I still would have love to have seen Nick Marshall working with Guz Malzahn / Greg Roman type offensive coordinator. Him and a few others who never got the chance at the position.

Tbh, i didn't think much of him before he was drafted. It's way to early though.
I don't know how good or bad Lance will be. Shanahan is great with scheming receivers open. And they seem to do very well with the shorter, safer passes when he wants to protect his quarterback from himself. But if Lance doesn't work out, it could set them back for a while.
I know people can say we gave up those firsts for Goff, he didn't work out and we're still sitting pretty good as a team. But Goff did have two really good seasons leading a top tier offense. So its not like he turned out to be a bust. We won quite a bit with him. Time will tell if Lance can win a lot of games for them.
If they didn't give up those future firsts for him, I have to wonder if dangling those picks would be tempting for the Packers to trade Rogers to the 49ers. Right now, I'm pretty glad they gave up the resources needed to trade for a proven talent. Now they have an unknown talent.

He won’t start in 2021,so doesn’t matter. Depth is the big thing though,which the 9ers have.The NFC is going to be tough.
Ugh, saw highlights of all of Lance's passes tonite, and sorry to say he looked like a legit prospect. Great mobility and athleticism, threw a bunch of darts, with 3 huge drops. 80 yard bomb was a beauty.

Full disclosure; he was my least favorite of the top QB prospects from the get go, mostly because of inconsistent accuracy. So, I’m shitting on him all the time.

From what I've seen and read he was good his first drive but in the 2 minute drill he was complete shit. Only time will tell with him.
