What is the logic of Cooks deal? I think it is to drive up the price
for other teams. We don't need a wr especially with OBJ in the wings.

IMO another example where Most NFL teams are playing checkers while McSnead are playing chess (albeit while dangerously exposing their Queen). Team A going laser focus/all in on a trade where McSnead have a Plan A, Plan A.1, Plan 9, PlanB.1, Plan B.2, Plan X-1, Plan 3-5.2, Plan$z, etc.

Maybe the Cooks deal is just a decoy to make teams and the press think they’ve got the scoop and won’t keep snooping as they target other players.

If true what does that say about McVay's two 2nd round draft selections (Atwell/Jefferson) sitting on the bench collecting dust?

If this is the case then Rams should trade all their 2nd round picks into the far future so McVay will not look as stupid as he would IF he made this purposed trade.:explode1:

IF made Cooks is nothing more than a well-traveled well used WR that will not be anything more than a 3rd WR @ best!:sick2:

I’ve been as critical of the Rams picks as anyone in recent years. They can’t be wasting prime picks and kept ignoring the trenches. If the Cooks rumors are try then it makes it seem like McVay has no faith in Van or Tutu.

AND we already have Atwell for that role even though we refuse to play him. I'm not buying this at all.. there's no way. Would be so stupid

The factor we don't know is if OBJ is still in play. If he's not, then it makes more sense.

With that said, I would put WR at fourth on the depth chart for need right now, after RB, Edge and OL.

Do Rams fans overrate the value of draft picks? Or is it that they hate doing mocks that start on day 2 and 3 ?

For this year and this trade deadline I’m cool with no splash. There’s nobody out there available IMO who warrants moving a bunch of picks for.

I’d rather stay the course and remember that sustainability for 2023 and beyond is important too. We just won a title. Anyone else where I’m at on this?

If the idea is that we’re doomed once the big four are gone/retired then what’s the point? I’d like to think the Rams are better than that. Let’s be the Ravens, Steelers, Packers etc and stay relevant consistently.

I think OBJ may have made it clear he doesn't want to play for them...maybe turf related. Maybe feels there is a better opportunity elsewhere to win. Although the Kadarious Toney trade may affect the need for him in KC.

In any case I could see them moving Atwell for Cooks to just get something for a guy they may feel simply isn't big enough.
