It’s not in McVay’s or Snead’s M.O. to just sit back and wait. They try every year to get to the Super Bowl and win it. And if that requires sacrificing some draft picks you know they’ll have no qualms of doing that.
Agreed. McSnead are in perpetual motion evaluating personnel and weighing options for building the perfect beast. While there is limited cap space and draft capital I believe they know the Rams need some reinforcements to be relevant in the NFC. It takes 2 teams to tango, but I think the Rams negotiate a trade on both sides of the ball before the trade deadline. A spark on offense and more pressure on QBs from the defense is what the Rams need.

You are very much hemorrhaging at the edge. I don't understand how some don't get that. It's worse than the o-line because the o-line was actually hurt the edge isn't.
2 sacks from AD Ramsey and Wagz where are the edges in there?
We certainly could use both but Defense is top 5 and Offense is bottom 5, hard to just assume that will right itself without outside help

Understand but again offense has been crippled stafford sacked 21 times in 6 games 5 or 6 different offensive lines and Arob trying to learn and get acclimated something to say for that while the defense hasnt had many injuries rendering it crippled besides a couple corners. After a legit edge I don’t care what they add as I trust them to do whats right.

For me at least, being a playoff team nearly every year for decades is relevancy.

Not bottoming out every 5 years also qualifies to me. Bottoming out meaning one of those 2, 3, 4 win seasons.

When a losing record rarely happens also qualifies. When a down year meant 8-8, 9-7

The Rams by my criteria have been relevant for the last 5 years and I’d say the same even if they hadn’t won the title.
I understand what you're saying and I think it makes sense on an analytical level, but fuck relevancy if you're bouncing out early in the playoffs every year.

I'd rather win a Super Bowl every 5 years and then be shit for 4 than just be hanging around being relevant.

I also think few fans who say things like that are really happy with it because a couple of losses and people start to melt down. I mean holy shit, half the people on this board would have fired Morris mid-season last year.

If McVay and Snead want to trade our 1st in 2024 and even 25 and it wins us another Super Bowl, I'm all in. Look at all those teams who have had handfuls of high first-rounders and done nothing with them. Let them roll the dice on the draft, we'll take the players who can perform in the NFL right now.

In case you're wondering, of course I don't recycle. Fuck the planet, fuck young people and fuck the future, this is about me and all about now.

You guys probably heard this already but I heard the Rams are in talks with CLE for Kareem Hunt. It makes a lot of sense.

Good lord if the headline Monday morning is "Rams Trade for Cooks" I'm going to be physically ill. Literally almost think Jefferson is better at this point, doesn't have a huge salary, isn't out of the league with one more concussion, is bigger, is younger, has fresh legs, ect ect. The last thing we need is a WR, honestly. All the trade chips we have should be concentrated on edge and/or RB, possibly OL. Anything else is McVay getting too fancy.

Well, get ready…

I do really think that there is resentment in trading with the Rams so whether it be Burns or Chubb, I dunno if we have a shot short of overpaying. We’re a victim of our own success in that regard.

Taking Cooks means that OBJ wasn’t coming back and we don’t want to head in to the playoffs with a depleted WR corps.

I’d prefer Chubb and Hunt, but I think if we get anyone it’ll be Cooks and that’s it.

Not thrilled, but it is what it is.

There's just no way on Cooks, 18.5 mill guaranteed in 2023.
Of course that report comes out about Akers, last ditch effort to get a team with lukewarm interest to cough up a late draft pick
The good news is that all this waiting and wondering will be over soon....

I am sure that I am in the minority but I would be thrilled to see the Rams and Akers work out whatever problems they have so he can remain a Ram!!

I still think he can be a very useful and productive RB for the Rams!

I certainly don’t want to see the Rams just release him or give him away!!

Others have suggested that teams aren't keen on trading with the Rams because of, I guess, jealousy in how M & S have made it work to date.

But I wonder if there's another reason - presuming it's even the case - and it's that the Rams are guilty of leaking out more misinformation than other teams.

Just an idle thought.

I would be happy if they traded for any help but I wouldn't be disappointed if they didn't. Either way, like DB said "it'll be over soon".

I just want this to be over. I'm to the point that this season is almost a loss just due to injuries and other things. Don't do any ridiculous trades and reload this Off-season.

Would you offer what we offered for CMC?

Kamara is 27, and is reasonably affordable for the next two years ($11-12M/year). In 2025, his salary jumps to 2025 but, by then, he’d likely be released or his deal would be reworked.

So…worth it?

He's great but a lot of knee problems in his past a concussion issue and his recent legal issues too. There are serious red flags but he's great on the field. I'd love the talent just not sure I love the player if that makes sense. Also I'm of the opinion if we're going to use that many picks for a player I think there are better players to go after.
