I don't think McVay is the kind of guy who counts his hours vs his pay. He seems like the type who loves what he does and only knows one way of doing it, that being all-in.He made promises to AD, Stafford, And Von Miller on the Victory float to "run it back." If those players are gone and the TV money and the comparative low hours worked to be a commentator are available, I would say it's better than a 50% chance he goes. I guess we'll see if he's willing to start from scratch with unproven talent, or take the TV deal.
When his time inevitably comes to a close with us I figure he'll do a year or two of TV then get the itch and go back. And what will drive him out won't be certain stars retiring. Rather it will be the CAP aligned against him with a spaghetti mess of contracts from taking shots. So for right now Les needs to be careful in awarding the contracts, and who is being paid. If you move for someone this year keep it to cheap options or guys you are comfortable paying.
How well the Rams do that will figure in to that equation of whether he is lured away this offseason or maybe a couple down the road. I hope to have him as long as possible.
