McVay got to a Super Bowl without Stafford.

Donald on the other hand…

It would be hard to lose the greatest defensive player of all time
Other teams manage to reach SBs without the greatest defensive player of all time. It can be done.

But he WON it with Stafford, are you kidding me? Without Stafford, we lose in the Divisional round...even with AD. Don't let recency bias cloud your memory.

The truth is currently all of Ram's pass rush is wrapped up in one defender, #99. This situation does not have a look of getting better. #99 now 31 is not getting any younger.

DC Morris can get some help from the injured DB's returning but the ER's/ILB & DL units have not provided any real help in this very bad situation. Not really sure if DC Morris is the problem here but there is no young talent on this roster being groomed to rescue the pathetic pass rush.

How long will #99 continue to pull the rope all by himself with so many highly paid veteran defenders MIA.

Robinson has zero sacks
Gaines has zero sacks
Copeland has 1 sack
Floyd has zero sacks
Hollins has 1 sack
Lewis has 1 sack
Jones has zero sacks

Exactly... And if Stafford gets sacked another 22 plus times in the next 5-6 weeks he will not take us anywhere. They need to help him with a ground game. It would also be the cheapest fix or band-aid since RBs and OGs don't cost so much.

Not as sexy as a $16M OLB, but it would make the most sense despite that some can't process that fact.

That I agree with and have stated that many times, but that will have to be addressed in the offseason. For now they will have to blitz more whether it's Jones, Wagner, or Ramsey.

BTW, Ramsey will be a beast FS in a few yrs. Can see him being a great blitzer/ playmaker and settling in at S as he loses a step for CB. Might be able to impact a game more in that role anyway.

Captain Obvious says Super Bowl wins are the result of:

-Roster Talent
-Roster Health
-Team Momentum (e.g. Peaking Teams)
-Game Strategy (Coaching)
-Game Execution (including good/bad luck)

Roster Talent is only one factor. The most talented team doesn’t necessarily win.

Maybe they can pry Quinn Meinerz from the Broncos? I know, I would be shocked and have no GOOD reason to think that could happen but just to create a rumor with no facts there is this tweet and the next one from Broncos snubbing Wilson after a loss... person who goes out of his way the most to not interact with Wilson is Meinerz. Maybe he wants out. Let me fantasize about this for a little bit even though it's a pipe dream.

Quinn Meinerz added to Bradley Chubb (and maybe even Kareem Hunt)?

Would love to get Meinerz, but I think he is their only OL playing well. Not sure they would give him up in a fire-sale, just to have another hole in the OL to have to fill. However, I have been wrong before. LOL

If enough of us have hope and believe it will happen maybe we can manifest it into existence like some kind of Disney movie except we get a large, hairy man with a keg gut instead of a princess.

The rams blitz rate is at an astronomical high its why thise big ayes occur fir the defense to be ats its best they have to be able to rush with four and as good as wagoner has been it would only help him that much more. Help I g the edge goes far beyond just a glamorous move it has such a domino effect that it could help possibly right the ship as much as possible if its the correct edge. Thats why the dbs play 10 yds of thats why ramsey is looming more mortal than usual thats why AD can be triple teamed. AD accounts for almost half the rams pathetic pressure rate and has 2 sacks. Its wild to me that how thats not being seen. You cant keep blitzing and playing off because thats where teams will go short and bust big ones or run because your sending a blitz and they know it and they can kill you. You must improve the superior unit I. Effect that will help the unit that right now is inferior but partially to lack of health. The edge for us or the defense in general not injured just lacking.

The defense doesnt have Brian Allen coming back or Shelton or Van jefferson and while the jusry still out on Shelton and even allen to an extent they were always penciled in as starters. Where as edge is litterally abysmal rt now probably worse than the o-line.

I have been very vocal ablut getting stafford help still am but hopefully its coming in one way or another.

Ad needs that same help maybe even more.

Hard to explain what's going on with that Defensive front, seems Donald is doing his Donald thing, but Gaines has been struggling with injury and even Robinson seems off at times. Floyd has disappeared this season and with no-one really producing on the opposite side, we've been facing some bleak times on occasion, although they are far from our worst overall unit. Copeland has done well in reserve, but Hoecht & J. Williams have had few snaps and may be more suitable for the practice squad. Donald isn't getting any younger and his snaps, like last year, are approaching 90%, whereas Robinson is closer to 57%, although the afflicted Gaines is at a personal high of near 84%, topping his past highs by almost 20%. I am a bit concerned over exhaustion/fatigue for a couple of our starters. We may not have a Van Jeff, Allen or Shelton returning for the D, but we do have big Bobby Brown re-entering the picture, so hopefully he can add some relief as well as some bulk to that interior. jmo.
