Rams will have a bevy of options at running back in 2023

2023 free agent running backs

Saquon Barkley, Giants

Josh Jacobs, Raiders

Miles Sanders, Eagles

Kareem Hunt, Browns

Damien Harris, Patriots

Rashaad Penny, Seahawks

Raheem Mostert, Dolphins

Devin Singletary, Bills

Jeff Wilson, 49ers

Mark Ingram, Saints

David Montgomery, Bears

Darrell Henderson, Rams

Tony Pollard, Cowboys

Jamaal Williams, Lions

Melvin Gordon, Broncos

D’Onta Foreman, Panthers

D’Ernest Johnson, Browns

Some very good backs in the draft too. Can't see spending much at all in free agency on a RB.

With the drama behind Akers the Rams would probably have to throw in a 6th or 7th round draft pick.

I seriously doubt it.

Live in NYC, and the Jets were caught off guard and disappointed by Moore’s trade request. I don’t think they will move him; and if they did, I think they would do better than Akers and a late round pick.

My bad. Someone else here posted it so I took it as scripture. But 0 sacks after 6 games, I'll stick with the cut after the season.
You werent wrong,
Floyd has a non-guaranteed salary of 13.5 mill, and is due a roster bonus of 2 mill. So he's on the books for 15.5 mill.
However what is also correct is if he's cut they will take a 19 mill dead cap hit.

Yes. I should have been more clear in my prior response. I was focused on the Dead-$.

Sounds like Burns is “out” as an option.

Panthers rejected massive NFL trade offer that included two first-round picks for star player, per report

The Panthers have already made one blockbuster trade over the past 48 hours and it appears they could have made a second one, but that didn't happen because the team decided to turn down a massive offer for defensive end Brian Burns.

According to ESPN.com, one team offered TWO first-round picks for Burns, but the Panthers rejected the deal. After trading away Christian McCaffrey to the 49ers on Thursday, there was some speculation that the Panthers might have a fire sale heading into the Nov. 1 trade deadline, but that's clearly not the case, because if that were going to happen, they would have jumped all over the offer for Burns.

Crazy offer - sounds like something we could have offered if we had the picks.

Crazy to think that AD99 is the only 1st rounder drafted by the Rams on the roster

My thoughts as well. It is time for Snead to utilize the ultra-low $$$ salary cap hit draft to totally redesign & resupply McVay's RB room for the next half decade. The draft is the route I would strongly suggest.

Yes I understand the potential bud but this season is no time for potential it's not the proper message and there isn't really time to wait on this wait on that wait to get healthy wait for Obj. While we do all that waiting Detroit could be getting another top 15 pick from us. The Rams develop talent but they do it accordingly not at the expense of an entire season.
Lastly when have we known them to just let sleeping dog's lye since Mcvay got here anyway.
One player will not make a big difference in the overall scheme of things with this current team.

I predicted this team would go 10-7 back in August here in ROD. Since that time this team has seen a heavy rash of injuries to over a dozen starters. Not that unusual in the NFL. Could you be expecting far too much here from this Rams team going hard for a trade?

I am not concerned about the selection that the Lions get in this upcoming draft. But I am concerned about what future draft assets the Rams can muster up to refurbish this team & fill the many holes & lack of talent in the units currently.

This 2022 roster is not the 2021 roster by a far margin where 1 or 2 players can seriously improve your team to the championship arena. Getting into a bidding war with 31 other teams will cost this team highly in draft capital or talented players most all the time the team will end up on the short end of the deal.

The Ram Org did everything possible to field a competitive team this season but some things are just out of their control like injuries or players being disgruntled like Cam Akers. The Org needs to take all these hits and play the best with what you got. Coaches must coach up these younger less talented players.

The Rams coaches need to be very busy this week coaching up whats already here & not waiting to be saved by one player elsewhere!

I would suggest signing a FA running back next year if the list someone showed earlier is correct. We need a vet plug and play RB and I'm sure we can get one for cheaper than we think since the NFL clearly devalues the position. I would also say it shouldn't keep us from drafting one either if a good one falls to us. However, I'd target the o-line witt our first pick in the draft to add more talent to that cupboard.

Nope.

Not standing pat. Worrying about drafting and developing players is a future thing and the Rams are a now team.

Must add a pass rusher.

Love that the Rams forced the 69ers to up their trade offer. And influenced them that keeping CMC away from the Rams was a priority despite them getting their RB1 back in a couple weeks. CMC would have been fun short term but long term it would have crippled the Rams draft next year for an RB who has a recent history of multiple injuries.

Why do I get the feeling, "acquire an Edge rusher" will meet the same end as "draft an OL early" the past few years?

I have no issues in 2023 with Snead signing a Free Agent RB.

I do have issues with signing a 2023 UFA RB that will cause harm to the Rams future compensatory draft selection awards.

If Snead/McVay desires a couple of experienced RB's in the stable then resign FA's Brown & Rivers when the free agency is over & they will not impact our Compensatory Selections.

I also prefer to get a few OL'ers on day two of the draft however the Ram top need is a pass rusher.
