Ouch.
Not exactly what I hoped to see.
Lamb appeared to work McDuffie over pretty good.

To be fair, it’s a Lamb highlight vid, so we don’t have McD’s best plays (I’m hoping). But yeah, agree, optics aren’t the best.Ouch.

Do tell. Who are these "neutral observers"? And I don't have any inside information like you, but I suspect there was something else behind the Jones deal and there was a GTFO involved.Of course, nobody knows for sure. We're all basing this on only the knowledge we have. But most neutral observers have generally agreed that the Rams tend to overpay for players in these big trades. When the Stafford trade went down, NOBODY expected it would be for two #1s AND Goff. And when you trade away your own player for peanuts and that team turns around and trades that same player for even more draft compensation, it's pretty clear you got less than market value. I love Les, but it seems pretty clear he's overly generous to other teams when it comes to player trades. Shrug.
How DARE you!I called their children ugly over this is kinda strange.
WTF???Sadiq is the hot chick, and I like that dude,
Oh don't you bring up KD and rebrand in the same post though hahahahahaha......Snead is awesome no matter what. I love how he just gets what he wants. Honestly our opinion of trades mean dookie and I acknowledge mine is because he's the GM of a successful organization for a reason. I'm just a fan that reacts and has a good time doing so. I'll just say Snead is generous but if he feels it's what he has to do to lock down a trade, so be it. Rather have a ballsy GM like him any day. We are most definitely lucky as Rams fans nowadays because prior to this regime, it was fuckin ugly.I think more that it is hard to equate when certain individuals say that Les constantly gets fleeced or overpays and under receives in the same breath they say they love him as a GM. I mean... What is it? He gets taken advantage of in his MAIN job, yet he is really good at his job? I suppose it's not possible that he actually knows his job and knows the values and what a deal will take before he picks up the phone? I suppose it's not possible that he knows more about negotiating deals in the NFL than a few fans on a sports forum? And I suppose he only gets these players that have paid big dividends and that we all appreciate by bending over and taking it from GMs most of us and the league would deem inferior?
Sorry man. It's not that I feel personally insulted. It's that I don't get how some will say they really like him as our GM - yet insinuate he is really bad at one of his main functions of his job. It makes no sense. I can see questioning a trade or deal here and there. But saying that he consistently gets out dueled at the negotiating table is kind of silly for any of us to say while sitting behind a keyboard. I mean, this kind of thinking would also say that KD and Stan are fools who don't understand what they are doing in business. It's all kind of insane.
I caught the hot dude comment too but I actually refrained. I'm fucking dying laughing at your response hahahahahaDo tell. Who are these "neutral observers"? And I don't have any inside information like you, but I suspect there was something else behind the Jones deal and there was a GTFO involved.
How DARE you!
WTF???
And Stafford! I had a lot of arguments that weekend about how much better Stafford was than Goof.I’m old enough to remember when he overpaid for Von Miller.
So then - What exactly is the definition of overpaying? It seems to be some vague notion bandied about by those on the outside. Honestly. He could go in and dick around, sour relationships by playing low ball, lose out on important deals, and would that qualify as not getting fleeced?Overpaying is also not the worst thing a GM can do if the player they trade for performs at a high level. And generally when Snead has done the big trades he's paid some premium prices to get the deals done but they have worked out.
People are sayin'...Do tell. Who are these "neutral observers"? And I don't have any inside information like you, but I suspect there was something else behind the Jones deal and there was a GTFO involved.

That’s probably what the NYG were offering and it is better than the Rams (two 2nds or even just 29). The giants 2nd round is less than 10 picks away from 29. Their 2nd next year will be top 10 ish (say 37-45). While our 3rd is gonna be around 95. Even if they offered a 3rd next year, it’s still much earlier.I would have rather given up 2 2nds, than a 1st and 3rd.
Chiefs would have probably taken it. They needed cap space.
We've made a roster of 5th and 6th round picks (Jordan Whittington, Limmer, McClendon, Davis Allen, PUKA!!!!!, Kyren Williams, Quentin Lake). That’s probably what the NYG were offering and it is better than the Rams (two 2nds or even just 29). The giants 2nd round is less than 10 picks away from 29. Their 2nd next year will be top 10 ish (say 37-45). While our 3rd is gonna be around 95. Even if they offered a 3rd next year, it’s still much earlier.
The 5th and 6th round picks are throw away with very little value. So it’s really just two picks - 29 and next years 3rd.
The problem with this statement is...we'll, it's factually wrong. There are no facts, not a shred of evidence, that they overpaid per the market. But that doesn't mean they didn't overpay as per the market.
Of course you would have rather given up two 2nds; it's much less value than a 1st and a 3rd. But KC would have taken the Giants offer since there's was reported to be first round value.I would have rather given up 2 2nds, than a 1st and 3rd.
Chiefs would have probably taken it. They needed cap space.
1st round draft picks are new and exciting. They were pretty bad in 25' and need something to be positive about
I wouldn't be surprised if they have already worked out some kind of contract extension with McDuffies agent.
It's happened, but not usually on a players rookie contract.
I would have rather given up 2 2nds, than a 1st and 3rd.
Chiefs would have probably taken it. They needed cap space.
Kinda laughing at so much of the discourse.
Trent McDuffie will be 26 this coming season and has been a first team all-pro and a second team all-pro.
He's a badass, all around corner who can play multiple roles very well, including outside corner.
The Rams single biggest issue last season was the play of their corners.
NONE of the available FAs is nearly as complete a corner as McDuffie and very few are as young.
The notion of "overpay" is just fucking garbage. Period.
First off... it's not an "overpay" if you have the budget to handle it. The Rams have the cap space AND the surplus draft value AND they'll be likely getting a couple of 3rd rounders in the future for their OC.
You went out and got one of the best players in the league at the position you have the greatest need.. and he's young? THAT'S A HUGE EFFING WIN.
Trent McDuffie, by ALL ACCOUNTS.. is an awesome teammate and person as well.. and that stuff matters.
I'm sorry.. but it's an A grade on the trade if you apply any real understanding of value to the roster that McDuffie brings.
