Trade down a bit to get Omar Cooper and another draft pick. My guess is Cooper goes end of R1.

Proposed trade/draft scenario:
Trade R1.13 to HOU for R1.28 & R2.38.
Omar Cooper WR IND @R1.28.
Chris Johnson CB SDST @R2.38.

Sadiq is the hot chick, and I like that dude, but Cooper feels real safe to me.

I sort of like the idea of McVay / Kingsbury coming up with something hard to defend in a TE pass-heavy / running offense… but we lack a lot of speed at WR. Cooper helps there.

Lol. Fair point on the Falcons. Though I suspect that up until James Pearce went gangsta, I think the Falcs were pretty happy with him. OTOH, after decades of being a doormat, the Lions have been contenders because of what they got from Snead.

And the Rams won, let me think, a superbowl.

.

get rid of durant, or keep for backup...

no physicality...

get one more violent corner that can cover, and this team will walk to the superbowl..

durant is a dandelion... that gets lucky once in a while...

shoulda been replaced 2 years ago...

go rams

I think too often fans of a team, especially fans that are as dedicated as most of us on here are, overvalue their own players, and undervalue players from other teams. Thus, most fans will tell you that their GM gets fleeced too often in trades.

Where would McDuffie be slotted in this upcoming draft, especially knowing he’s a sure thing?

Then, sitting at #29… how much would it cost to move up and get him?

It feels like we got a fair deal.

That said… I sure hope we somehow nab an offensive weapon with that #13… but no doubt the Rams will stress me out on a trade down.

:laugh1:
In a vacuum yes, however, McDuffie is going to be looking for a record setting contract at the end of the season or he's going to be a FA or we franchise tag him for 20+ million. I'm concerned about our ability to resign our own guys. The factor of him needing a massive contract should have equated just pick 29. Then again, I'm not too worried about the last pick in the 3rd.

I gotta believe they keep one of Durant or McCreary. If that’s accurate which does this forum prefer?
Updated:
Durant projected at $10m/year
McCreary at $6.2m/year
They shouldn't.

They need to add a CB with some size/length if they are going to spend that kind of money.

IMO, the should go after a cheaper veteran like Chidobe Awuzie again and then replenish via the draft.

Where ya gonna take that rangy, 3 down LB that I think we need in your scenario? Somebody much better than Speights, too.
What about finding a corner via FA or later in the draft, and taking that backer at 38?
Jake Golday ? C J Allen?

Rams met with trotter at the combine. Maybe 61?

Me thinks they try to leap into the top 5 for Love. With Patty Cakes coming back from injury, Love would ease the burden
This would be amazing. I don't think they can swing it, but Love would put this offense back to the Gurley days and 35 a game. It would also make the D a whole lot better.

I think he was suggesting that this trade could lead to the Chiefs (not Rams) trying to move-up for Love.

The little that I've seen on him says he's best suited as a 2 down backer.
I'm thinking about more of an all around 3 down type of player to compliment, not duplicate, Landman's role.

Like the player, but not overly thrilled on giving up one of our 1st round picks.

I feel there are other comparable CB's in FA we could have picked up without giving up any draft picks.
Which ones would you have preferred? I wasn't all that impressed by the options available in free agency but I am definitely not an expert

Yep. This I like. Remember this however: I keep hearing 14 to 16 first round grades in this draft which is low. So trading out of 13 means your are likely getting a 2nd round grade with even a small move down. The talent between 20 and 40 is fairly even. I really like like Johnson though.

Hasn't it been reported we're working on deal prior to trade consumating?
