Other than Aiyuk name one of these bastards whose best days aren’t at least 2 years ago.
Bosa 34 sacks the previous two years. 10.5 this season

Deebo's numbers the last couple years are not like 2021 and prior

Kittle's numbers improved from 2022 but not like his first 4 seasons. He'll be 31 next season. The age where guys get dinged up a lot more.

McCaffrey will be 28. Getting pretty close to the age where running backs start to decline. When they do it can be a dramatic drop off for some.

Trent Williams hasn't missed a lot of games, but he sure does get dinged up a lot and will miss one here or there. He'll be 36. You have to wonder if those injuries that caused him to miss a game or two will end up costing him more games.

Aiyuk will be a free agent after next season. He's already hinting trouble in paradise. Would not be surprised if he holds out for a new deal. With all the money committed to others, they may be forced to trade him.

The 49ers window will be open for one more year in my opinion. And it might come crashing down hard after next season when they will have to make hard decisions on who to cut. If they aren't careful it might happen next season.

I guess my point is if the 69ers were going to win it all their best chances were last year and this year. I don’t think any of those players other than Aiyuk gets better.

I remember during the game when Shanny called a time out to "correct" a defensive call, that he was going to make a bad call and cost his team the game.
Now he blames the defense coach?

The whiners always seem to have the #1 defense until they get to the playoffs. :)

I've never liked the 49ers. It began in the 70's. But the dislike went to hatred in the 80's during he Joe Montana years. I live in 49er/Raider territory. When the 49ers are winning their fans are insufferable. They strut around with this "My dog's better than your dog" attitude. When they're losing they become "Eh, its my team but I really don't watch much".
Growing up in San Jose, and living almost my entire life in Santa Clara County (my last 10 years over the hill in Santa Cruz), my story is pretty much the same.

Man, their fanbase sucks. I used to listen to KNBR on my commute. Good thing because if you’re gonna try to have a reasonable conversation with a 9er fan, your job is to bring the factual content—for both sides!

I was never a big fan of San Francisco in general.

I agree. A few of the key pieces are past their prime. Kittle and Deebo come to mind. They are still good but not as good as they were a few years ago. McCartney obviously still has it going on. Although is young and in full stride. However, as a whole they are still one of the best rosters, and should remain that way for a few more years.

Hey Kyle - you know what 28-3, 20-10, and 10-0 all have in common?

Hint: NOT Steve Wilkes.
They have one year tops to maybe make it back to the SB.

I completely agree, Steve Wilkes was not the problem.

Big move with huge stakes IMO.

The 2023/2024 SF 49’ers Defense finished 3rd in the league in points allowed… Let’s fire the DC!

Sure has the look of the classic knee jerk reaction to a loss. The fans and media were calling for someone's head to roll. This move was to appease them. I hope it backfires big time on them.

Klint Kubiak commends Kyle Shanahan after departing 49ers for Saints

and they continue to leave

Klint Kubiak is among several assistant coaches departing the San Francisco 49ers for opportunities elsewhere. He will serve as the New Orleans Saints' offensive coordinator after his stint as the 49ers' offensive passing game specialist.

I would be surprised if Staley isn't strongly on Shanahan's radar for DC. Why? Because he runs a defense similar to Robert Sala. Both like to play a match concept zone in the secondary It's a complex system and normally takes some time for the LBs and secondary to learn to play it well. The difference between Sala and Staley is how the DL is played. Sala used a lot more one gap whereas Staley favors the Fangio mixed DL techniques. I personally favor Sala's approach because a one gap DL normally gets pressure faster than a Fangio front.

IIRC Staley ran a lot of cover 3 match something that the Niners were very good at under Sala. It requires DBs and LBs who understand defensive concepts and know what they are seeing from the offense for it to work. It's probably why they had issues with the Charger D. I think this is why others have also speculated that Staley could be a match for SF.

The first time my dumb ass ex brother-in-law came over to my house wearing a 9ers cap years ago. Trying to make conservation, I asked him what he thought about Jerry Rice? His response was Jerry who. I told him, every housewife in America know who Jerry Rice is and you don't so take that cap off and don't ever wear some crap like that back in my house again, This is Rams Country.

The whiners really like to talk smack. I remember them saying "same old Stafford" in the NFCCG.

We should start the "same old whiners" when they end their season with a loss each year. :)
