I didn't mean to imply that your math was ever wrong, at least not the simple math. But the predictive power of that math has been less than stellar. In fact I'd say that that the math you do when you say things are worth it or not worth it, that the risk is too high or that the player could make more doing less with a lower risk of injury, has been demonstrated to have such little predictive power that it is entirely irrelevant to any discussion of what might happen in the future. Now obviously you get to have the conversations you want and enjoy yourself on the board how you like. So don't let me rain on your parade. I'm merely saying that given the past success of your predictions, I'm not going to rule out a billionaire buying the chargers and moving them into a privately financed stadium now just because the numbers don't add up.

Construction worker dies after fall from SoFi Stadium roof
Lindsey Thiry ESPN

A worker at the SoFi Stadium construction site in Inglewood, California, died at the scene after falling from the roof Friday, Inglewood police told Fox 11 Los Angeles.

Sources confirmed to ESPN that a worker died at the construction site, which has been shut down.

SoFi Stadium is home to the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers and was set to open for the 2020 NFL season.

The stadium, owned by Stan Kroenke, is scheduled to hold its first event on Aug. 14 when the Rams and New Orleans Saints play in a preseason game.

Stadium construction began in November 2016.

The stadium was estimated to initially cost $2.6 billion, but now has a price tag estimated at more than $5 billion.

This is the first known incident that has resulted in a death at the construction site.

Oh man...... Praying for their family.

Sitting out the whole season surely wouldnt have made more financial sense. If he was going to be on any team, he was going to make 6.5 mill, nobody would have paid him more than that.

Only 1 thing would have helped him, and that is playing football.
If he got injured playing, at least he would have been given a chance to show his skills.
He didn’t play for free, he was under contract to play football.
Not playing a season is detrimental in a free agent year. The idea that he would have been a FA candidate by intentionally sitting out is proven false by the mere circumstances he went thru. He didn’t play, was an unofficial assistant coach and he doesn’t have a job.

The torch in Vegas is kind of cool. It’s fun to compare renditions to actual as we get close...

CYA time! Guess they don't want cameras active during their investigation.
