But if you disagree, I'd be interested in hearing what you believe is another plausible reason why the Rams would leak information on the negotiations to Schefter.
I do disagree, but there's no way either of us could know one way or the other. I think it's more likely that just enough infornation has gotten through to Shefter thru a close connection of his that he can make his claims. But that doesn't mean it came from the Rams. It could have come from someone else that Snead or Demoff spoke to in confidence. It could have come from any source via the player, agent, team, other team, other agent. However, The way you put it, it's as if the Rams planted the information for some type of gain. To assume THAT, is to say the Rams are sneaky and calculating and manipulating...and that is way over the top in my opinion. The days and practices of Charlie Armey and Samir Sugielman are way behind us. Snead and Demoff have been nothing but proffesionals and there have been no reports to the contrary, not withstanding the few jolts Demoff took from the local media as we left St Louis.
And that leads to what I have been seeing. There are too many that place the impasse at the Rams door steps when it could possibly be the player that is unreasonable in his expectations.
I could be wrong but based on recent years and recent transactions as evidence, I don't think the Rams are balking at reasonable terms. THE RAMS flew to Atlanta to meet with the players representation. The RAMS have brought the manilla folder across country to work out a solution. I don't see the PLAYER or his agent in LA attempting to resolve anything at all. It's as if they have dug their foxhole.
Yet some still see this as a player being shafted somehow by the team?
