Brady takes a pay cut, because he wants to win superbowls. Donald holds out because he wants to get paid more at the expense of the team and his fellow players. Oh and by the way, he's under contract. His point is well taken, now get back to work, so he can do what the Rams are paying him to do...his job. That's why the Patriots win superbowls and the Rams continue to be the Rams...

Yeah I'm sure he took a pay cut. He probably has $15m on the books then $15m in brown paper bags or free stock options in one of Kraft's subsidiary companies. There's plenty of ways to get him his money.

It has everything to do with it. Everyone knows ad is the hardest worker on the team. You don't think he realises he has to be in shape if he wants to play week 1?

.
I'd be willing to bet there are a bunch of guys who "work" just as hard or harder than Donald. And, as I already said that has nothing to do with work ethic. Work ethic is the standards by how you get it done not the effort you put into your job.

Yes. AD is my hand-down favorite player. But enough is ENOUGH. Get back to work!

Outplay your deal? Cool.

You can be paid for it right after we get $$$ back from GRob, Jason Brown, Trung Canidate, Eric Crouch, Jason Smith, Sam Bradford and Lawrence Phillips for not meeting THEIR rookie expectations.

I'm holding my breath.

Doubt it. What incentive do the Rams have to give Donald a new deal if he shows up and continues to play, with two years left on his contract?

What incentive would the Rams have to pay a guy who isn't even showing up to practice? The Rams agreed that he needs a new deal and then he decided to stop showing up. What kind of respect does that show, and why would anyone work to benefit him when he isn't entitled to it (or it's not an immediate concern, ie nowhere in the near future is he going to be a free agent)

Donald's #1 job right now: practice
Demoff's #1 job right now: AD's contract

Donald decided his #1 job was less important than his payday, maybe Demoff did too. Call it a show of solidarity; they could be holding out together.

You can't decide not to do your job and expect other people to do their jobs to serve you. It just isn't logical.

My favorite way is to have the Patriots pour cash into a company co-owned by Brady, located on/near the Stadium premises. And, of course the Patriots would never use the company as a front to funnel money to Brady in avoidance of the salary cap.

The Patriots, in an unusual departure from National Football League practice, have created a revenue stream for a private business owned by their franchise quarterback, Tom Brady, and a partner who faced federal sanctions after falsely presenting himself as a medical doctor and deceptively promoting nutritional supplements.

But the most legitimate controversy surrounding Brady is his business relationship with body coach Alex Guerrero, who's been sanctioned by the Federal Trade Commission over false claims for nutritional products he marketed and accused of fraud by former business partners.

An out? What out? You mean like exchanging an indoor stadium for a stadium with no walls?
No a top tier clause like you said he should ask for. He's paid top tier as long as he performs top tier. It's all on the city of I mean Aaron Donald.

If it's true that the rams offered to make him the highest paid defensive player in history, then he will be reporting for duty anytime now. No way in hell he passes because of an opt out clause that he'd have to wait 2 years to realize that no team will agree to. As the executive from another team said, that clause would set a horrible precedent. Plus, AD'S likability, which he does care about, would go in the shitter as he would be seen as an unreasonable whiner while also losing a ton of money this year. It would be a mess.

Vinnie B.was on Rogan yesterday. Vinnie said the Rams have a very good offer on the table. One that will make him the highest paid Defensive player in the league.

The only facts that we know, are that the Rams still own his rights for the next 4 years. 2 years remaining on his contract and 2 years of eligible Franchise tags.
If we do have a huge contract on the table, the Rams are doing the right thing by holding their ground. Technically, they don't have to offer him anything.

Thanks for the heads up on what Vinnie B said. Your right the Rams don't have to offer him anything. I got to read the Vinny B article above. I haven't been up to date on the AD situation foregoing the more recent AD threads. I know there have been rumors. It would appear that the Rams have leaked some information to Vinny B. That is substantial news. They had to let everyone know they made an appropriate offer.

If you’re doing the math at home, that means Donald making $70 million in guaranteed money and, should he play out the length of the deal, pocket $118 million or so.

For point of reference, think somewhere above Ndamukong Suh’s six-year, $114.4 million deal that guarantees him $60 million, and Von Miller’s six-year, $114 million contract that guarantees him $70 million.

That’s an incredibly fair offer given that Donald has two years remaining on his original rookie deal and that, frankly, with the Rams controlling him for at least the next four years they aren’t obligated to do anything.

The Rams should hold their ground if this is close to their offer.

so riddick was on the mike and mike show. no wonder he was just spouting his opinion without knowledge of any of the facts. that's the mike and mike way, just keep talking, don't need to know any facts, just keep talking.

Vinny absolutely nails it. Honestly, if he's been offered a contract along the lines folks are thinking, then he needs to fucking buck up, sign, and get back to work.

If you're referring to other NFL players working at their craft, I'll bet there are damn few, if any, that do. If there was any way to actually measure and verify such a bet, I'd be willing to lay some serious money on it.

While I agree with much of your post that the Patriots are a team-first organization...and a bunch of stinking cheaters, Brady's "pay cut" once again allowed him to fall ass-backward into even more money. The guy could fall into a steaming pile of :poop: and still come out smelling like roses. His "pay cut" is not quite as altruistic as it may seem.

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...ve-that-will-save-him-millions-while-hes-out/

When the Patriots quarterback restructured his contract back in March, he added two-years to the deal, which wasn't that notable. The notable part is that Brady cut his 2016 base salary down from $9 million to $1 million.

You read that right: Brady's base salary in 2016 is only $1 million.

The salary reduction was smart because Brady will miss out on four game checks during his suspension, and the savvy move means that Brady will only lose out on roughly $235,000 while he's out. If Brady hadn't restructured his deal, he would've missed out on $2.118 million in total pay for the four weeks he sat out.

That's a difference of $1.88 million, meaning that $1.88 million will go in Brady's bank account that wouldn't have been there if he hadn't restructured his deal.

By the way, you don't need to feel sorry for Brady and his $1 million base salary in 2016. The quarterback's new deal also included a $28 million signing bonus, which means Patriots owner Robert Kraft cut Brady a $28 million check shortly after the deal was signed in March. So for 2016, Brady will take home $28 million in bonus money and only $765,000 in salary ($1 million base salary minus the $235,000 he loses to the suspension)

Brady also has a $1 million base salary in 2017, before the deal jumps to a $14 million base salary for both 2018 and 2019.

*Responsibilities in honoring contracts vs playing a kids game for multi-millions and being dissatisfied about it vs screw the owners because they are crooked and you fans just need to understand it's just business that the season is wrecked vs get the FREAK to work Aaron Donald you money grubbin bastid!!!

Feel free to fill in any other opposing ideas that will never be resolve either...

when a person is trying to make $120m it ain't no kids game, it's business. marbles, jacks, xbox, these are kids games. the nfl is a multi billion dollar business.

it irks me somewhat when it gets referred to as a kids game.
