Tell the truth, you really bought this from Cold Stone.....

Tell you what: I'll buy ice cream (not Coldstone, but the grocery store kind) when the next check comes in. I'll even post pictures. :p

My 100 year old billiard table was finally delivered/installed this week. It's a 9 footer.

I was going to have a new felt installed on it with the Ram's logo... but I was told by the original owner and installer (separately) that the felt that is sold with NFL logos on it isn't very good. Apparently the felt that is on the table is one of the best. They said it would be a crime to put a low quality felt on this table. So at least it's blue.

My party room is starting to come together now. I have a bar being built still and I am going to have a giant TV up on the wall next to the Ram logos. The wife is still looking for the couches and tables. We are getting extremely raw at ping pong during this project... now I'll be getting my pool game back to where it used to be too.

Not the most interesting thing in this thread. But my BP is way too high and I'm not interested in bringing it down with meds. So time for something to get my heart rate up.

So… my wife walks in on this package I am opening from Amazon…

50 Hot Wheel cars.

You should have seen me try to explain I bought them for me.

Man, if I really think about it; no toy lasted longer as a kid. I played with these in many ways. Traditional things but also with fireworks. Puddles. Took them places. Always one of these cars laying around. As young as I can remember.

What I plan on doing is also getting a little track, maybe a booster or two… and on Christmas… me and anyone here on that day, can get their ass on the floor and play some cars with me.

LOL.

(Its a little silly thing we do on Christmas… ”play” with toys, retro toys if possible like race tracks, trains, anything old time feeling is cool. Twister would qualify).

I haven’t opened one yet. I worry they will feel cheap.

I just went back in this thread and saw that I bought this Napa Valley wine barrel fountain back in 2018.

Well, it's still running like a champ even though it looks more weathered now. I moved it over to the our new house this week and set it up outside the front door. I can clearly see it from inside the house now.

@RhodyRams I was worried when you told me the trouble you had with yours right after I bought this thing. At my old place it sat underneath a giant oak tree. It did get filled with debrie several times a year from that damn tree, but it kept running and I have had a number of badass fancy goldfish live in it. Frogs constantly used it as their breeding ground too... providing free food for the goldfish. The new location for it is now completely covered by a roof. So I know it will be easier to keep clean now. I put 7 red cap goldfish in it last night and my son actually saved 6 tadpoles that have been developing in at over at the old place.

I didn't buy it per se but helped my son with the downpayment. My congrats to him for getting into the Fire Academy starting early next year. He's been wanting a Mustang since he was in middle school. So I helped him with the down payment and co-signed on the financing.

He's also been wanting to be a fireman since he was in middle school and talked to visiting firefighters. So this is becoming his dream come true. He trained as an EMT in CA so that certification has helped him gain entrance in Tucson's FD. It will be a 5.5 month grind but the payoff is a lifetime civil service career.

I'm so proud of him. I raised him alone as his mother was not in the picture. I taught him self-respect, and respect for others are the cornerstones of being a good man. I laughed when he told me he once was stopped for speeding in the desert (110 mph) LOL. The cop was so taken aback by a 19 year old being respectful, honestly remorseful and honest he let him go with a warning. He told me that because he wanted to show me that he's learned his lessons and that's the kind of man he's going to be.

He's been working since he was 17 and has always risen quickly because of his work ethic. Once he gets through the academy I know he's going to do well.

A man always remembers the first car he buys himself. That's why I told him get what he really wants and I would help him. I asked him if he wanted a Mach 1 but he said no. He wanted the base then he was going to trick it out himself. I used to tell him how I did that with my first car and he said he never forgot.

Of all the blessings in the world a man could have it's the love of their child that is the most important.
