I bought a big slab of walnut months ago to make a table. It's basically round but not really since it's just a slice of the actual tree. I wanted it that way because it reminds me of the slices of cypress trees that were made into clocks a lot down here in FL back in the day.

I have a guy doing the work on it and he is slow af. He got the edges cleaned off and put a couple of coats of epoxy on them. He also put an epoxy seal coat on the bottom yesterday and he sent me some pics. These don't show the top where the artistic stuff is gonna happen... these are just the edges and the bottom of the slab. It's gonna be raw when it finally gets done.

My wife and I are looking to expand our cycling adventures from the paved roads/bike paths to dirt trails and the beach, so we bought two of these:

Just bought a second copy of an old GBC video game (Dragon Warrior III), a new joycon for my Switch (current one is busted), and six $9.99 Pokemon games for my 3DS that I've downloaded and played without issue.

What is that? One seater?
9' pontoon boat for fishing rivers, lakes, ocean. We have kayaks and towables. This is far more stable and I can load our camping gear and dog on it and have Becky follow me in a kayak.

Speaking of woodwork...

That walnut slab I bought a while back is nearing completion. Last weekend the wife and I filled in the cracks with some blue epoxies and the top was poured this weekend. Here's a sneak peek as the top was getting some coats poured.

A little night cap material.

The tequila is aged in raw oak, then whiskey barrels, then finished in Sherry casks. Very smooth. A little sweeter than I normally like but REALLY good.

The Rum is very nice and actually a decent price for the quality.

Found me a Moosehead mount for my livingroom area. Crazy that I was able to get this... it has been hanging over a giant fireplace in British Columbia since the 70's. It's in perfect condition and still has the tag from when it was shot. I've been looking for one for over a year and this one almost fell into my lap.

Here's Judah meeting his new bro. It's HUGE.

I've named him Isaac Mooooooooose and I'm gonna get a name plate to hang right under it so everyone will know his name.

Now I have to hang this beast on a wall about 10 ft+ off the ground.

Did he bark and growl at it? My dog took about a month before he stopped barking and growling at both my elk and bear mounts.

Nah... Judah is beyond super chill. We take him to some of the old folks places to give them some love because he's so in tone with elderly peeps and even the super young. Judah would have been a great service dog... our dog trainer has told us that since he was a pup. He was welcoming the moose like his long lost.

HOWEVER

T's schnauzer and Dylan's serial killer dachshund will probably never be able to relax in the livingroom again. I can't wait to watch them notice Isaac. It will be hilarious. They are gonna lose their minds.

I just finished mounting Isaac. I did it alone and it was a fucking load... between my fear of heights and lifting this awkward beast up a 12 foot ladder on 1 shoulder while I held on for dear life... I am worn the fuck out. All this during a tornado warning too. I was sweating my ass off.
