People hating the results -- well that's everyone's right, to have an opinion. It's totally in bounds.

People who exaggerate to further an agenda---the "Morris is stupid, retarded, a coward, had nothing to do with Super Bowl win, he doesn't deserve to hold it, and so on " --- can have that opinion, too. But that opinion is based on ignorance. The work is worth it because it exposes the ignorance. And it's work I have shared on another board so I always have it at the ready. And there is a lot more where that came from.

I get frustrated at soft coverages at times during the games. But I always wonder "If soft coverage sucks so much, why does any coach ever use it, much less almost every single one of them?" These coaches have got to know things I don't.

Only reason I'm rooting for Morris HC position is because he deserves it and we get comp picks if he gets hired.

The Raheem MORRIS HaTE was horrible last (2)season. This year Oldbutnotdead will never like him,but gives him a very small touch credit. There’s other I can’t actually post about. Oh well -

Same with Fangio, who had Ramsey playing softer at times too, and worship the guy, I don't.

Yeah, I used to spend time pointing out the fallacies and over exaggerations of some but mostly gave up. Every now and then I'll throw a hat back in the ring but mostly just laugh or eye roll and move on anymore. Props to @JimY53 for his detailed educations.

Lord knows I went all-in on that discussion.. and I've just backed off a bunch. Just no point to it.

I look at it as a symptom of a larger problem of communication in this country. So many people now lock on to narrative and shut everything else out. There's no room for subtlety or nuance or compromise for them.

It's a bad situation.

Harbaugh is the new Chargers coach but you have to interview multiple to cover your requirements.

Maybe, but Spanos is cheap. He doesn’t pay ‘top coach’ type of money to head coaches or their staff. He was paying Staley 4-5 million, which is the bottom end of the coaching salary scale.

Harbaugh was making 8 million at Michigan, and was offered 12.5 million on a new deal. Does Spanos even consider it?

I think Harbaugh ends up with the Raiders or Commodes.

I wouldn't be averse to seeing da Raiduhs have a resurgence. They've been shit for long enough to where I'd welcome seeing the Chiefs have a real threat in their division. Not to mention if Asshole Face sticks around all of a sudden Spanos looks like he's got a lot more time in the cellar in the days ahead. Win win.

You’re right on how he got praised & Morris came in his first season to run the same type defense. Mcvay was going into defensive meetings.

Joe Barry is doing an excellent job & was a BIG PART of The Rams defense with Staley.He was going to be The Rams DC imo & then all of a sudden Raheem Morris was like a Godsin.

His relationship especially this season has helped Mcvay even become a better MAN & HC.

Mike LaFleur will tell anyone how good Raheem has been to him & helping his career.

Staley WHO ? It will be interesting to see how his career ends up ? Raheem Morris has earned his right to be a HC again weather the Haters want to believe it or not.

I wonder what Harbaugh 2.0 looks like. He walked into an absolutely loaded defense thanks to Mike Singletary. Then he brought Kaepernick in with the ‘new to the league’ read option offense and he was a huge success.

However, once teams, mostly Fisher and Williams imo, figured out how to defeat that scheme, suddenly the offense started to sputter and Harblah had no answers. In his third year he was ‘asked to leave’ or so the story goes. He left with the ‘difficult’ moniker attached to his name.

Zoom ahead to the future and he was very mediocre at Michigan until he cheated and started drawing in better players with his success.

I don’t view Harbaugh as a great hire, but specially not for a rebuilding team. Although he may be able to do like Pete and Jimmy did and parlay his last few years in college into some successful drafting.

I don’t think he cares if a team has a QB… he’ll want control and a shit-ton of money.
Washington would be smart to reset their franchise with him and they have deep pockets.

I agree it's not rocket science but it's also not something that is best judged from the couch. I get that people got mad and didn't like it -- it's frustrating.

But in fairness ... the results were there. I think it goes too far to imply that Morris isn't smart. Maybe you didn't mean it that way but you are suggesting you understand it's a bad strategy and he doesn't.

And Staley did the same thing. And still does, well, did. And teams still do. It's not like this stuff is made up on the fly to frustrate fans. There is a little bit of theory, knowledge, and preparation that goes into this stuff. No, not rocket science but it's far more complex than we fans understand.

Correct me if I'm wrong but we also had the horses on the backend at the time to close fast and hard whereas that changed a bit in the years that followed. People don't realize how many great role players that 2020 D had at slot, at edge, at so many places.

Seriously! About half way through the year I took all but one person off ignore, not that there were many honestly, to start things new. The one I left on only seems to post in the GDT or vent threads and is only ever negative nothing ever positive to say at all. Criticism is perfectly fine but this persons posts were just too much for me. But So has quoted me 3 or 4 times in this thread and every time he's straight making shit up about my posts. He quotes me and then makes stuff up that I never said. I don't want to ignore him again but my goodness read what I say and actually respond to that don't put words in my mouth! I say enough bad stuff on my own thank you very much
