Kupp and Gurley means this thread doesn’t exist. Honestly, after Kupp went down, Im surprised we made it to the big one.

FUCK! Well next year I will be able to take the day off. Thought Cooks had the tying TD, just not our day. It was a hell of a season, to bad it had to end like this, but we will be back. This team is young and built for the future, no matter what the mediots say.

...this was actually worse, since our offense never showed up this time.

McVay channeling Mike Martz and all I have to say is:

He can never allow this to happen again.

Never once used the middle of the field on all the blitzes .

I know McVay will adjust. He’s too smart not to do so.

McVay wasn’t prepared to change things up. He went in with the same game plan he always does. He should have known better. Next time I think he will.

This is the 4th time it's happened since the bye week.

This is officially a bad pattern.

He did a shit job today. Shit.

Welp. We got to have breakfast with the kids and grandkids. Our steaks for pregame turned out awesome. We enjoyed the game and the season and 30 other teams were sitting at home on the couch while we played in the SB.

On to next season and we will be even better.

Ps. Fuck the pats.

It's just two years into the McVay era, and we're 0-1 in *SUPER BOWLS*.
I understand the frustration, but let's try to remember where we were 3 years ago.
We'll be back.

Rams 3 years ago....

This thread topic is hilarious and doesn’t make any sense. The Rams have ascended since 2016. Who would of thought they make the SB with a 33 yr old coach and 23 yr old QB in just 2 seasons? We were tied in the 4th qtr of the Super Bowl to the greatest dynasty the NFL has ever seen. Lol. We just couldn’t finish the deal to a more experienced team in crunchtime. It sucks. But hell Im so proud of this team. It stings for sure we were so close, but I was wayyy wayyy wayyy more upset when we lost XXXVI

Hopefully we can make it back sometime in the near future. Hate to waste opportunities that truly don't come along very often. Especially for us old farts. Just no guarantees.

A new medication that I take makes me sick to my stomach a lot, I can't drink that much alcohol anymore without getting sick. So I get to feel like a curb stomped fan without relief tonight

Never once used the middle of the field on all the blitzes . No adjustments whatsoever. Overwhelmed by all the hype and the bright lights. It's easy to say that we'll be back , but I've heard that before. The Bears and Pats put out a blue print to completely suffocate the genius play caller . Everyone will take notice . Running the same thing series after series against the Pats is exactly what the you don't do .

McVay has been a coach for 2 seasons, Goff a QB for 2.4.
They will grow.

Question for all of you. Even if we NEVER threw the ball. Ran on EVERY PLAY.

Do you think we only get 2 first downs after 8 possessions?

Think about that. With how our D played. Think about it.

Right? Talked to him after every game. Learned what makes him tick, how his brain works, then owned him. Old school mobster Belichick.
I’m really happy are defense came to play.

Eh. The DB was holding Cook's left arm down. Not easy to catch with one arm moving that fast.
Rewatching that... yeah you're right. The DB definitely hooked Cooks' left arm and he couldn't bring his arm fully around to complete the catch.

While we are venting....

McVay was completely out coached. Even if Gurley was hurt, CJ is a capable back with big game / super bowl pedigree. Use him. Why so many passes vs. runs? Why no runs to the outside to keep their vertical defense honest, which was combatting our horizontal pre-snap motion to great effect? True, Anderson might not be the best outside runner. But if Gurley was hurt, why not run Cooks on a jet sweep or something? I counted two outside runs all night - one to Gurley and a jet sweep to Woods. Both were successful. Why not try other or similar plays? Why so many play action passes when the run game wasn't even working and it was clear that the Pats were getting pressure... long developing plays were not the answer.

Goff was not nearly good enough. The pass protection was even worse.

If Gurley was fully healthy, McVay has committed an almost fireable offense for being so pass happy yet again and refusing to use him. On his limited carries, Gurley looked dangerous. But for a weak holding call it briefly seemed like the Rams were going to get right back into the football game on the back of TGIII. As good as McVay is, I fear his few flaws might be severe and fatal.

Edleman is a baller. But there's no excuse for how badly he torched us. It's hard to be too hard on Phillips and the defense, however, as they played extremely well.
