It’s insane how the “Sports Media” professionals are pumping up the Bengals. They will discuss the plus and minuses on each team with the Rams coming out on top then immediately pick the Bengals. Freaking Frustrating!

Good news is that our DL is the great equalizer. Hard for Burrow to complete passes from underneath Aaron Donald and Von Miller lol.
Lets hope Morris stays aggressive. The first time he plays a team, he seems to play back to keep them in front. Also the weapons Cincy has is scary. Lets face it, in the playoffs we have not seen a offense with this many high level weapons. Cards missing their best receiver. Tampa missing 2 of their top 3 receivers. Whiners never had that much, just cry baby and kittens. So I worry he will go into his shell again and play bend don't break. Which basically neutralizes our pass rush and wares the D out. Also keeps our O from getting in a rhythm. I hope McVay and Morris stay with what our D does best.

It's a joke that they caved this year to pressure to find someone new for defensive MVP. Because it's still Donald.
I think what most media forget when judging best Defensive Player is Watt doesn't hardly ever get double teamed because he doesn't come with his had down and surrounded by lineman. He comes from space and many times he doesn't even get blocked. He is one of the best, but the degree of difficulty is not even considered. Even DE on a 4 man front isn't near as difficult as playing AD's position. But this is what the media does. Looks for the new best thing.

majrleaged,
Doggone it and this is what drives me nuts. It's up to Coach Mac to TELL his D.C. to stay aggressive and to keep playing with your hair on fire. Looks to me like many on this board give McVay a pass and direct their ire at Morris (who has richly deserved it at times this season) but rather conveniently forget Who works for Whom.
Coach Mac needs to get in Morris' grill if he starts dialing up the pansy- prevent- wins defense.
He cannot just sit back and fiddle around with his play sheet and whatnot. (umm....much like he did in our previous SB loss)
If he's the Head Coach then act like it.....

I'm hoping we establish a smash mouth running game to open up. This will open up our play action for big plays and Stafford has been excellent in PA. We have faced potentially the 2 best run defenses in the league in consecutive weeks, and it showed in production. The Bengals are not elite at stopping the run. A healthy dose of Akers and Michel to open the game and keep Joey B on the bench is a great recipe. Oh, and end arounds please! They are generally very successful in our offense, but seldom used.

Some interesting context for this...

Burrow does better against man coverage than zone.
Burrow was sacked 9 times by Tennessee.. and kept coming at them and won.

Trust me when I say if the Rams sack Burrows 9 times, this game won’t be close.

I'm hoping Burrow spends his entire game on his back so we don't find out.

The thing that gives me comfort is that we played Evans and Godwin healthy and dominated the Bucs. Whoever their third was for that game, Brady plus those two plus the third is better than Burrow and their three WRs.

Obviously they're different players, and it doesn't guarantee success - but it does give me some comfort.

Burrow also isn't playing all that well - not nearly as well as the general public is making it seem. And we've played tougher defenses just about every game save for possibly Tennessee.

I personally love this.

I know it doesn't really matter, but it sure feels like anytime there's a consensus that one team will win, it usually goes the other way.

So bring on people picking the Bengals.

SB Nation Reacts: Rams continue to be disrespected by National media and NFL fans

After everything the Rams have accomplished this season, there is still bulletin board material galore

By Christopher Daniel Feb 4, 2022,

The Los Angeles Rams won the toughest division in the NFL, flew across the country to defeat the previous Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers (retiring the GOAT Tom Brady in the process), and authored the largest fourth quarter comeback in NFC Championship history (against a team that had previously beaten them in six consecutive games) to earn the right to do battle for the Lombardi trophy. And yet, the disrespect remains.

It may just be me, but it feels like the majority of media coverage I see on Super Bowl 56 is heavily slanted in favor of the Cincinnati Bengals . Whether it’s talk of how the San Francisco 49ers lost the NFC Championship more than Los Angeles won, or analysts wearing Bengals gear when they are actually fans of the Chicago Bears, I don’t feel like the Rams are getting enough love.

Thankfully, voters across the SB Nation Reacts polls were more LA friendly. Oh wait. No they weren’t!

_National_1_2222.png

Apparently, it’s the Rams against the world, as 66 percent of voters want to see them lose the Super Bowl. I guess that’s right on pace with everything else, as nine out of 14 experts picked the Bengals to win in ESPN’s predictions. How the hell could you root against a guy like Matthew Stafford? Has he not paid his dues and earned his respect after living in football purgatory for 12 seasons? Do you not want to see Aaron Donald become a Super Bowl champion? Is the Odell Beckham Jr. redemption story not compelling enough?

I understand pulling for the underdog to an extent, but it’s not like the Rams are expected to win by three touchdowns. DraftKings Sportsbook has LA favored by 4.5-points, in a game with a projected 48.5-point over/under.

The numbers continue to climb when debate on who is the better quarterback begins.

_National_2_2222.png

Only 31 percent of voters believe Stafford is better than Joe Burrow. I’m fine with the discussion being had. I wouldn’t even bat an eye if a slim margin of fans felt Burrow was better right now. But 69 percent is a bit much.

stfvsbur.JPG

I am not denying Burrow’s talent or minimizing the fact that he led his team to the Super Bowl in his second season. I am simply saying when comparing the numbers, there is no way the voting should lean so drastically in favor of the former LSU Tiger.

Here’s another fun one; only 60 percent of fans who took part in the voting believe Sean McVay is a better coach than Zac Taylor.

_National_5_2222.png

I promise I am not making this stuff up. McVay has 61 career wins to just 29 losses, a win-loss percentage of .678 (including the playoffs) to go along with a massive and ever-expanding coaching tree at 36 years old. Taylor, a branch on the previously mentioned McVay coaching tree, has 19 career wins, 32 losses and one tie, with a win-loss percentage of .375.

But wait, there’s more! According to the polls, only 77 percent believe the Rams have a better defense than the Bengals.

_National_6_2222.png

That percentage should be in the 90s. I know the Bengals have a good defense that may very well be underrated. They’re creating turnovers and are peaking at the right time. I get that. I respect that. But in what world do 23 percent of people think Cincinnati has the better defense? I’d like to have whatever they’re drinking for Super Bowl Sunday please!

By the way, the Cincinnati Bengals want to win the Super Bowl for a gorilla.

I don't care about the national media, the Rams are superior in talent, you know it, I know it & the American people are about to see it!

Burrow Beware!

That's the benefit of the extra week. The initial reaction was heavy in the Rams favor but with the extra time and the need to create content the media starts favoring the underdog.

Right, but you still have to consider that Burrow is more mobile than Brady or Garoppolo and is a better passer than Kyler Murray. He's smart, knows when to check down and when to bail, has a sniper rifle of an arm, and while I'm hoping that our defensive line phases him, he took nine sacks against Tennessee and still came out with a victory.

I am not taking this game for granted, and I bet the Rams aren't either.
Yes, but Matthew Stafford > Ryan Tannehill.

For every good thing the Tenn defense did, Tannehill undid in that game. I don't see that happening this time around.

I know Ryan Tannehill had a bad game, but to be fair his last pick was bounced off his receivers hands and tipped into the air before being INTd. If that doesn't happen I think TEN wins that game.
