Their offense is impressive, but our dline should give their oline some fits.

So, expect something unexpected from them. Lots of quick stuff. Maybe a gimmick or two. Something to grab momentum. Be ready for that.

I also wonder if McVay has been sitting on his version of “The Philly Special”?… I bet “yes”…
Do you think he will try that hook & ladder again at the goal line?

Aikman mentioned during the NFCC game that McVay had the team in pads the Thursday prior. I hope he does that again before this one.

We are comparing 2021 Tee Higgins and 2021 Odell Beckham. The Rams do not have 2014 or 2015 Odell Beckham.

He doesn't even come close to trumping Higgins's full year stats. You cherry picked the only statistic of his that compares favorably. Higgins blows him away in every other measure. Just stop.

No, my stats aren't way off. I used full regular season and playoff numbers for both. Each guy has played 17 games counting the playoffs. Adding in the playoff numbers actually helped Odell, so don't try to claim I did it to sway things towards Higgins.

If you meant 20 games then you made a mistake labeling it 17 games. But that is fine mistakes happen. No biggie.

You can’t compare a 3 time pro bowl WR who averaged 12 TD and 1300 yards a year to a 6 TD 950 yards per year WR. It’s an absurd argument to take up. You will die on that hill with no one there with you.

If you want to shift the argument to which WR was the most productive in 2021 alone that is a separate argument. But context matters in that arguement. You are talking a WR coming off an ACL dealing with a shoulder injury but more importantly he’s on a Run first offense with a QB (Mayfeild) who sustained a labrum tear in his shoulder Sept 19 and
Reinjuring it the next week - missing several games in the season and Posting an 83 Qb rating. Those are bottom of the league worse
Than a rookie numbers.

It would also be disingenuous to disregard the fact that Odell had several games where he was at around 30 snaps a game during his fallout with Cleveland and transition to the Rams. Not to mention the ramp up time he needed to learn the playbook and system on the Rams.

This is why stats should always be evaluated within context.

To say Higgins was more productive in 2021 - well yea duh? Of course. OBJ was traded mid season and dealing with a historically low output from Baker due to injury.

If your argument is Higgens at this exact moment could be as impactful in the Super Bowl as OBJ then that is a possibility. OBJ didn’t have a training camp under his belt and is still relatively new to our system. Higgins has been in that system for two years.

But OBJ - once acclimated to our system has outplayed Higgens both in the playoffs and also in his short stint with the Rams projected over a full year. In 7 games of the regular season starting with GB (Niners game he had 2 catches) OBJ had 5 TD. Projected over 17 games he’s back to his double digit elite pro bowl level TD numbers. Meanwhile Higgens is at 6 TD over 20 games. Those are Van Jefferson numbers.

Anyways at the end of the day who cares. You called the Cooper Kupp pick so you are still a legend in my mind! Also - We are in the Super Bowl so Let’s Gooooooo!

I didn't make a mistake. OBJ played 14 regular season games and 3 playoff games. Tee Higgins played 14 regular season games and 3 playoff games. Do the math.

Absurd is arguing that OBJ is better based on numbers he put up from 2014 to 2016. Sean McVay wasn't even our coach in 2016. OBJ's last 1000 yard season was in 2019. Miss me with this argument.

"Shift the argument"? This has ALWAYS been a discussion about 2021 OBJ versus 2021 Higgins.

Yes, Higgins was more productive in 2021. Because he's a better player today.

W-R-O-N-G. I've already posted the numbers.

Amazing. You ignore every WR stat but receiving TDs. If that's the logic we're using, Cooper Kupp was a worse WR than Greg Ward in 2020. Kupp had 3 receiving TDs versus Ward's 6. We both know that's a ridiculous argument. I am in total disbelief you're sticking with this approach.

I'd say that Higgins is a bit better than OBJ. He has the stats, but he's also a different type of receiver than what we've faced. He's tall (6'4"), a deep threat, and has iron mitts for hands. @jrry32 is right that Higgins was better than OBJ this season. And Boyd is one of the best slot receivers in the league, a real third down option who can kill corners on short to intermediate routes; it's something he's thrived on ever since he came into the league.

This is not a skill position group you just dismiss and say we're better; without Woods, we're not better at wide receiver. I love Jefferson, but he's not in Boyd's class. And Mixon is better than any running back we've faced in the playoffs.

I know the world wants a close game - but I've probably lost 6 months of life in the last 2 weeks. A beat down would be great.
I would love a 56-10 whooping… who cares what everyone else not associated with the Rams franchise wants!!

This is it. I am extremely concerned about their amazing WRs against our secondary. With Woods injured, the Bengals quietly have the best WR group in the league. Chase will give us just as many headaches as Deebo. Burrow is an absolute stud and will find those guys. He's already an elite QB in both talent and leadership. Prepare for the Bengals to pick on Reeder in coverage and exploit Williams all night. And they have a very capable run game with Mixon.

Plus, the Bengals are never out of it. Look at how they came back to beat KC. They are incredibly resilient and have great self belief.

With Morris really struggling to take away the middle of the field, things could get ugly. This will be a very, very tough matchup.

But their offensive line is weak. If the Rams' defensive line can wreck their game plan - and I am cautiously optimistic that they can - we should be able to win!

I like that we have somewhat of a veteran team in key spots, whereas the Bengals are very young.

The Bengals have yet to face a team as complete as the Rams in the playoffs. KC is a bit more explosive but thier defense and running game are a notch below the Rama. The Titnan are overly reliant on the run and have a middling QB.

I am cautiously optimistic the Rams get it done. I think the defensive line takes over.

As worrying as anything is that the Rams will be favorites. We sometimes don't play complete football in that role, and the Bengals, clearly, absolutely excel in the underdog role.
Well said, I hope the Rams are not taking this team lightly, they are young and hungry.

Good news is that our DL is the great equalizer. Hard for Burrow to complete passes from underneath Aaron Donald and Von Miller lol.

Right, but you still have to consider that Burrow is more mobile than Brady or Garoppolo and is a better passer than Kyler Murray. He's smart, knows when to check down and when to bail, has a sniper rifle of an arm, and while I'm hoping that our defensive line phases him, he took nine sacks against Tennessee and still came out with a victory.

I am not taking this game for granted, and I bet the Rams aren't either.

Eh, we have a lot of experience wrangling Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray. We can handle Burrow's mobility. I like the way we match up to Cincy.

I like our defensive line matchup myself. I'd pit our front four over any front four in the game and especially over any offensive line. Donald is going to come out absolutely firing; he wants that ring. Miller has been an absolute godsend for our pass rush. It's Ramsey's first Super Bowl rodeo after he came so close with the Jaguars; I'd put him on Chase (yes, I trust Ramsey that much), shadow Higgins with Scott helping at safety. Not sure what we're gonna do for Boyd; I hope Long and Deayon are up to the challenge. We also need to slow down Mixon. Easier said than done, of course, but while I'm nervous about this game, I'm actually confident we can win if our front four gets home.

I'm so ready for this game. Tired of hearing how the Bengals aren't worried about our DL because they faced the Chiefs and the Titans and the Raiders in the playoffs and they're all good blah blah blah.

Actually did not hear Long's name called the last couple of games. He may finally be coming around.

I've been watching news clips and previews and it seems like everyone is so hyped on Burrow, even analysts are putting him over Stafford. I'm having trouble understanding that. Burrow is certainly a really good QB, but if you're a stat person, Stafford is better in almost everything. He's even done better in the playoffs then Burrow has.
Again Burrow is really is good, but I personally think Stafford is a better QB in almost every way. And I don't say that just because I'm a Rams fans.
Even as an unbiased fan I see it that way.

Regardless, I can't wait for this shit! We need that ring!!

They ain't seen Aaron Donald, Von Miller, Leonard Floyd, and Greg Gaines. Jeffery Simmons is a very good DT, but he isn't Aaron Donald.

This is good. I don't like the Rams as a favorite, never have. I like them when the media is shitting on them. So shit all over Stafford, get him good and pissed the next week or so.

Same with Ramsey btw. We need someone in the media to talk shit about Jalen as he plays his best when he's pissed off. Pay one of the LA press to ask him about how he got beat on that pass in Tampa at his last pre-SB presser. :laugh2:
