ESPN has a list of the top 5 qbs in the nfl(based on what I have no idea) and Stafford has moved into the top 5 along with Allen, Herbert, Rodgers and Burrow. Notable in his absence is Mahomes.
Stafford wasn’t in this group til he got a ring which is fine but how are you going to leave out a guy with 2 SB appearances for a guy who has no playoff wins like Herbert. Anyway, I guess we need something to talk about between now and the draft.

I really don't know how Brady can be #1 on the list for 2022, when it isn't at all certain he will be playing. Still, I'm happy with Stafford being Top 5, because I wouldn't take any of them in the playoffs over Matthew., and they begin to be interchangeable from 1-5..

All the respect in the world to Stafford for what he did this year, particularly in the playoffs, but Mahomes is basically a better version of him. He's more mobile with the same sort of ridiculous arm strength, arm angles, and no-look passes.

Yeah Mahomes is like the most physically talented QB ever. Your point is in no way a slight to Stafford. *But* I’d have loved to see Andy Reid get his hands on Stafford and Calvin Johnson early in their careers. For as talented as Mahomes is, he was truly blessed being drafted by Andy Reid.

I'll take our guy over anyone in the 4th qtr. Dude had no run game and one receiver in the big one.

But, i'll play along(no Brady).

1. Allen
2. Mahomey
3. Stafford
4. Rodgers
5. Wilson
Unless Rodgers ends up in Denver, or Brady ends up in SF, Rich Eisen thinks the season opener will be Buffalo @ SoFi.

I think Mahomes has regressed, myself. He made some bad decisions, running around in the backfield when he should have gotten rid of the ball much quicker. What you love about him, I guess, is a two edged sword for me. Mobility is great, but I much prefer some mobility in a pocket passer than a guy who just runs around because he can. He did not look great in the toughest moments in the game vs the Bengals, and Stafford seems more clutch to me than him…JMO.

All the respect to Mahomes but I'm really happy with Stafford right now. Glad to see him getting some play too.

And I still don't think we've seen his best in this offense. Another camp for more mastery of nuance and then light this fucking league on fire in 2022.

I don't think Mahomes is the most physically talented ever. Even of the QBs right now starting in the league Allen gets the nod there.

He's great though. Elite for sure.

I don't think Mahomes is as inherently tough as Stafford.
Nor is he as clutch. But he might get there.

And I've never seen Mahomes without a lot of elite weapons and Andy Reid.

I'll give Mahomes the edge on raw talent and obviously youth.

But after seeing what Stafford did in one year with a better team, there isn't ANYONE I would want more.

Stats are for pu....., um... losers.

He has been a starter for four years. In those four years, he made it to the AFC Championship Game (would have beaten Brady and the Patriots had Dee Ford not jumped offsides), the Super Bowl (winning it), the Super Bowl (losing it due to his starting OL almost entirely being injured), and the AFC Championship Game. He's a monster who has done nothing but deliver.

And his postseason numbers are off the charts great (33 total TDs in 11 games, 28 TDs to 7 Ints, 105.7 passer rating, 8-3 career record as a starter). He also rallied the Chiefs back from a 20-10 deficit in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl to beat the 49ers. Bar none, if I have my pick of QBs, Mahomes is the guy.

Oh hell yes…he’s sliding back to Texas Tech Mahomes, making lots of mistakes…mental errors.

Three out of four opportunities to come back from tie or from behind in the 4th quarter, Stafford has delivered with the Rams. I used the word "regressed" concerning Mahomes. He was better a year or two ago than now. I'm riding with Matthew.
